This is an excellent adaptation of a (in my opinion) classic children's book. Very well written.
I bought this book because I am studying French and thought it wise to buy a book I recognized that was translated into French.
After all, this is a rare book to get in New York.

Le Petit Larousse Illustre is encyclopedic in its extent and the color illustrations/photos first rate. Consequently, when I search for the meaning of a French word or phrase, I often find myself discovering and visiting new dimensions of what only can be called 'French civilization.'

If you are a Francophile you could become lost in Le Petit Larousse Illustre, and if not, you just might become one.

This is an excellent presentation of the first manifesto of Futurism. The study is based on the original manuscript which was made available to Dr. de Villers by Mrs Marinetti herself. The book presents the facsimile text and an analysis of each correction made by F.T.Marinetti in November 1908. The original text is followed by the translations in English, Russian, German,and Spanish. The volume contains also some original notes of Marinetti pertaining to the readings he made while a student in Genova. A new edition of this book will appear in 1999 in an English-Italian version published on the 90th anniversary of the publication of this seminal text in the Figaro in Paris on February 20, 1909. The publisher of this new edition is INTRAMEDIA INTERNATIONAL in Ann Arbor, Michigan.

Exemple parfait: pour donner des directions pour se rendre à votre domicile, est-ce que vous donner les noms de rues bien précisément ou bien les nombre de lumières, arrêts, dépaneurs et autres ? Si vous donnez les rues vous êtes auditifs et si vous donnez des points de repères vous êtes visuels.

I have read this book, it is written by an arabic writer, from Lebanon, he explains the origin of Islam, and the influence of a priest on Mohammad. Islam is derived from a christian sect, and the author gives many scientifcal proofs. Everyone, who wants to know Islam, must read this book.

This book brings something brand new to the study of the Civil War and introduced me to the soldiers from French Canada and France. Great photos, index and bibliography. Also includes a detailed section on Civil War genealogy research. A fine addition to any Civil War book collection.

If you are looking for just the right word or if you just do not understand a phrase, this dictionary is the best bet for the intermediate French student.

A fascinating (he-he, do you remember Quignard's ethymology of the word "fascination" ?;) )penetration in the Roman history. a little bit dubious, un peu discutable. mayde, but still spiritual and tres francais!:)

This book is an absolute must have. It is clear and simple, a great reference book to which you can go back again, again and again. It is a guide not a 'recipe' book.
