Exiled in the Land of the Free provides an excellent and in depth coverage of issues extremely important to the American Indian nations within the United States. Some of the issues addressed are sovereingty, trust resposibility, and a critical look at the involvement of American Indians in the development of the USA's political system. The essays are extremely well written and quote many primary sources. It would be a very helpful tool for anyone who works in policy making decisions regarding American Indian nations.

The book begins with basic concepts in mathematical economics and optimization as optimization of common functions in economics and theory of demand also includes the clasical topics core, welfare, demand excess etc, the book's exercises are great, you only need a basic mathematical level, derivation, real analysis and some of multivariate analysis, I like the way of this book few words but have many proofs and exercises.

A basic book that simply leads young school children through various experiments related to water along with a historical outlook realted to the the given water experiments. It is most ideal for middle school children (5th grade and above). Though it is a suitable book for younger grades with appropriate supervision of the water experiments. Interesting facts are paired with historical references to famous scientist. This book is ideal for the classroom or at home. It is worth the money. Andrea Cavanaugh, MS Ed.

Madsen's writing is enjoyable and easy to read. The man clearly loves research and his enthusiasm is infectious. This is a good book for getting students excited about the world of music research. Providing an overview of issues relating to research, it is an outstanding introductory book, but would not be of great use to seasoned researchers.

Great Introduction to the Deep Ocean
Helpful Votes: 2 out of 2 total.
Review Date: 2002-01-11
I am somewhat familiar with deep ocean exploration and this book does a great job of describing the experience. I like that the text is simple so that a young reader can enjoy it alone but it also has scientific names of deep sea features and creatures for older readers and this makes it a nice resource book as well.
Quite accurate depiction of the seagoing experience.
The terminology is very accurate as are the pictures.
I read this book several times before I gave it as a gift for a young child.

This book is the result of a virtual community of practice of leading association executives (in which I participated). It's provocative and energizing.... a nudge to start having deeper, more meaningful conversations with your board of directors. If you think your board meetings are dull and you'd like to change that, this book (and courage) will help.

The Best Piece of Science Curriculm For Kids I've Ever Found

Thank goodness I found this book before I started teaching a class on Oceanography! "Exploring the Oceans" was not only a clear and well thought out book but it was clearly written by someone who understands children. The book is riddled with fun and educational activities that work exptremely well for kinistetic learners. it was organized into managable chapters that allowed the students to focus on a cohesive set of ideas while previewing the concepts to come. A wonderful tool for getting kids excited about science and the ocean.

BRAVO!

Absolutely fascinating exploration of pre-modern theories and representations of the passions (emotions). It is amazing to see how artists anticipate neuroscientific truths regarding the expression of human emotions both two-dimensionally (on the face) and three-dimensionally (in body language and the rhetoric of gesture).

Well worth the wait for the final editing of Ms. Monatgu's 1959 doctoral dissertation under the late Sir Ernst Gombrich.

A pity that Dr. Montagu was unable to entend her reach into more recent periods, including the impact of Darwin and Warburg on the understanding of emotion in aesthetic experience in more recent times!

Fables Of The Novel: French Fiction Since 1990 by Warren Motte (Professor of French and Comparative Literature, University of Colorado) looks at ten French novels published during the 1990s as samples and examples of a trend toward innovation that transcends traditional plots, themes, and messages in contemporary French literature. Scrutinizing the evolution of the French novel, as well as drawing out hidden insights in modern work, Fables Of The Novel is a scholarly and strongly recommended contribution to the study of contemporary French Literatre.
