Despite the fact that the text is in French this really is an excellnt reference book. Printed on good quality paper the images are perfectly reproduced and detailed. In addition to pictures of the Char B itself there is information on the crews and uniforms. An excellent book and well worth buying!!!

This book was a pleasant surprise because of its quality, excellent color pictures and very informative text. Though it follows is some aspects the structure of the Osprey Warrior series, it doesn't belong to them and has also some nice extra features. The chapters are:

- On Campaign
- The Emperor's Escort
- Uniforms and Equipment
- Standards
- Bibliography
The book will surely sutisfy not only the modeller but also the reader of the Napoleonic era with the wealth of information regarding the heroes and legends of this famous regiment. The authors have expert knowledge of their subject and do not make mistakes on dates, names, units etc. I'm looking forward to purchase the next two volumes on this new series ("Napoleon's Cuirassiers" and "Foot Grenadiers and Chasseurs of Napoleon's Guard") and I wish there will be many more in the future.

This is an award-winning book, specially praised by Fidel Castro when it appeared. It charts the revolutionary political and economic strategy that Che Guevara advance in building the Cuba revoltuion. Che besides being a political leader and an internationalist fighter, was one of the leaders of the economic struggle to build a socialist Cuba.

His ideas stand in start contrast to those that were advised by the Soviet Union and Cuban Communist Party members who had looked to the Soviet Union. Rather than the bureacuratic approach of centering on offering material incentives, and increasing social differentiation, Che put forward a strategy remarkably similar to that advanced by Lenin and Trotsky in their struggle with Stalin. Che believed that while economic growth had to be based on realism, science and the limiatations of the Cuban revolution, that the political mobilization of the Cuban masses, their attention to the world revolution, and the struggle against bureaucratic priveledge has to be at the center of the revolutionary Economy.

Tablada gives an excellent description of Che's ideas, not only in theory, but how they were practiced in the first five years of the Cuban revolution.

The publication of this book was a result of a renewed struggle by the Cuban revolutionists to revive Che's ideas and the struggle against buraucratic priviledge in Cuba after Cuba rejected the Soviet model at the end of the 1970s. This is why a Cuban socialist revolution, almost the total opposite of the Stalinist bureaucracies that collapsed in the USSR and Eastern Europe still stand.

Tablada is a clear writer who provides great explanations of complex economic concepts and clear documentation.

I have used the past four editions for a children's lit course for several years. The first five chapters provide an overvierw of approaching kid lit and a history of the field and its illustrators. The remainder has summaries of some 2000 books in various genres, areas and age ranges. The greatest aspect, and terrific for teaching or discussion, are the highlighted/boxed commentaries by various authors and experts. The appendices have lists of awards as well as short discussions on other media, getting kids and books together and censorship (boo, hiss.) A great text and invaluable resource.

There are an awful lot of opinions about children's television. This has in turn generated an awful lot of research, most of it well done, about the effects of television on children. This book, in turn consists of eight essays that summarize the relavant research in critical areas such advertising, program content, how children learn from TV, health aspects and of course violence. The essays are written by individuals who are recognized experts in their fields.

This book has been in preparation for about ten years and represents the net result of reviewing more than 2,000 research papers published in the United States. It describes the nature of the research that has been conducted as well as their findings. It also discusses, in many cases, the effects of what the findings discovered are also mentioned.

Finally there is a complete bibliography of the research reports included in the book and on a CD supplied with the book.

This book provides many interesting historical facts, which even we, Chinese, currently do not know.

It is a boon to have this volume available in print and on the Internet. There are no copies available in the major research libraries in New York City, and just one at the Bibliotheque nationale de France (in a later reprint version). All scholars interested in fifteenth-century France should purchase this volume for themselves and their university's libraries.
