This was the first book that got me interested in the near death experience studies. It is fasinating and once you read it, unlike many other books, you will not forget it. You will find yourself thinking of it long after you read the last page. Highly recommended.

Who doesn't love a good ghost story?

Review Date: 2007-05-05
From the pages of FATE Magazine, Andrew Honigman has compiled a wonderful collection of true personal accounts of contact with the Hereafter. For the past 50 years, FATE has featured the letters of its readers in a most popular column, My Proof of Survival. Here, readers share their own stories of encounters with spirits of all kinds. In this collection of 145 stories, Andrew Honigman has collected the best of the best.

The book is broken into chapters that reflect the story messages, with topics from Messages - communications from the other side, to Blessings - gifts from the departed. The stories cover every imaginable spirit encounter - apparitions, signs, dreams, spirit heroes, haunted houses, and even animal spirits. Some of the stories are touching and sweet, while others are downright frightening. The publisher of FATE magazine insists that all stories in this selection are true; the policy is to have the authors sign an affidavit that they are. This fact lends credence to the book, offering a form of proof that these things do happen.

Readers will likely find several stories that they will connect with for various reasons; my own personal favorite being a story titled, "A Walk in the Park." With so many stories to choose from, it may be difficult to narrow it down. This is a book that you will pick up again and again and never grow tired of. Who doesn't love a good ghost story? Especially when they are from the files of FATE Magazine.

Learning more about the next world

I read this book ten years ago. I find Amazon customer reviews very valuable, and see the need for one here. This will best serve as an indication of the book's memorability. I remember fewer details of this book than I do for books I have more recently read.

I have only read one other novel-length account of the near death experience, and have read several accounts that have appeared in magazines. This book echoes some aspects of the near-death experience, and introduces other aspects that were new to me.

One of the images from this account that has stayed with me ever since reading the book is that of the torment of leaving a physical body when one has become attached to experiences that require a fleshly body to participate in or sense the experience. Examples could be eating, physical contact with other living beings, dancing, think of your own examples. Ritchie's spiritual guide explained to him that those who have become dependent on such activities in substitution for spiritual satisfaction feel that they are burning as they crave physical sensation shortly after leaving their bodies behind.

There were descriptions of spirits who linger near the earthly plane, that were striking to me. The scene that remains in my mind is one of the patrons of a tavern.

I am currently reading another book of this type by Betty J. Eadie. This book would make a good companion to the Eadie book. This type of account invites comparison reading.

Insight into cases and "how to" of UK's real crime psychic

Nella Jones has a "Psychic Eye". A Romany gypsy, Nella recounts some of her most famous cases (including helping Scotland Yard with the Yorkshire Ripper murders) and shows how to see into the mind, the future and the world beyond. She was featured on Discovery's "Strange" 26 Nov 98 program. Says she feels victim's or criminal's emotional state (afraid, lost etc.). Fascinating. Real world cases add to "ring of truth" about her testimony. Should appeal to researchers of remote viewers, psychic criminologists, etc.

I ordered this book with high expectations (being a lover of India and a life-long fan of magic). I must say that they were all met and exceeded. Mr. Siegel has not only managed to write a detailed anthropological account, but a genuinely entertaining read. Description of the illusions is handled with artful care.

To me, its greatest success is in making you feel like you are witnessing the magic, smelling the air, and getting to know the people of modern and ancient India.

The New Revelation: My Personal Investigation of Spiritualism
Helpful Votes: 1 out of 1 total.
Review Date: 2008-10-25
The Spiritualist movement of the late 19th century gave birth to all kinds of printed material, and this text is one example of its greatest supporter, Sir Arthur Doyle. In his own words, Doyle--medical doctor, soldier, intellectual, world-renowed author--fully describes the principles of Spiritualism which are just as fresh and exciting as the author himself. He writes in a clear and concise manner as he calmly and deliberately examines psychic experiences, life after death, mediums, automatic writing, and more. Sir Arthur's quests for spiritual understanding of life and death are as relevant today as they were during his lifetime. Masterfully written, extremely informative.

I used this book for many years. It is precise and versatile.

The introduction of numbers, their domains and vibrations is awsome.

It adds many precise and astonishing reading/predictions of project's titles or names of people. I prefer the Pythagoras reading of all.

I gave this book to so many people :) Now I am without.

Greta Woodrew, as I know her, is a beautiful soul who has had the opportunity presented to her as a psychic and healer to give us her first-hand knowledge of extra-terrestrial life as it has and will impact OUR lives. A truly must-read. I do have an extra copy if anyone is interested in acquiring it - it's a wonderful eye-opener and for loaning to others - and autographed by the author. I'm available by e-mail for further information.

This is one of the rare books that introduce in a balanced manner and without prejudices the heroic period of the studies of the human psyche and of the survival possibility after death just as searched by famous names as William Crookes, Charles Richet, Oliver Lodge, Fred Myers and any outhers...

An excellent work.
