A very interesting and informative guide to working with various forms of crystals and minerals as a complement to metaphysical pursuits. Includes clearly written instructions for practical exercises that even a beginner can follow. Also included is useful information on how to properly care for your mineral specimens. A must have for any crystal lover/enthusiast!

I started reading Dion Fortune 35+ yrs ago. This book tells lots about the behind the scenes about Fortune & her Magickal group. Richardson was not a member of her order who had to dig for his facts ...and dig he did. The bock contains the Magickal records of 2 major members Christine Hartley & Charles Seymour. It talks about Fortune's true inner plane contacts as well as the entities invoked and mediated by the entire Lodge. The book also goes into the fact that Fortune sacrificed here inner plane contacts due to the publication of her seminal work "the mystical Qabalah," whereupon she had to develop new inner plane contacts. This book is well worth the read.

I saw this book in a bookstore in Atlanta, Ga over 17 years ago in it's first edition. While I had not been impressed with other "How to 'do' psychic stuff" books, and was also under considerable parental pressure not to acquire more (being a young and "impressionable" teen at the time), a cursory read of the text showed what appeared to be quite simple instructions and a fascinating breadth of supposed psychic abilities covered. So, impressed, I snuck up to the counter when my Mom wasnt looking and bought it.
As other reviewers have noted, the most amazing fact about this book is that you start seeing results from the moment you put its techniques into practice. You will have some degree of success with everything mentioned in the book, from seeing auras to table tipping. There will be points during practice of the excercises when you make a breakthrough, and your hair will literally stand on end.

As one of the most easily accessible texts on psychic abilities I have ever encountered, it is indeed a shame that this text has gone out of print. Having said this, a more widespread reading of the text and practice of the excercises would no doubt make many of the "extraordinary" abilities listed in the book become downright commonplace. The author, and the book, are really that good!

Subtitled "Psychic Adventures that Changed My Life," this book is about one woman's spiritual quest, one that she began as an agnostic and "recovering Anglican."

The author states that she'd wrestled the subject of life-after-death to the ground and had concluded that "death was final - period." However, her attitude began to change about 25 years ago when a friend told her of her experiences with a psychic and asked her if she'd like to meet with the psychic. Although reasonably content with her life as a fashion illustrator and feeling no great need to change her views, Evans met with the psychic out of curiosity. She was very impressed with the evidential information provided by the first psychic, and that prompted her to visit others.

In the years that followed, Evans visited more than 60 psychics or mediums, experiencing phenomena of all types, including spirit communication, past-life readings, apports, and apparitions. From those experiences emerged a spiritual philosophy with karma and reincarnation at the core of her new world view. A good part of the second half of the book discusses the evidence for reincarnation, including the research of Dr. Ian Stevenson and the teachings of Edgar Cayce, "the sleeping prophet."

Evans goes to the warp and woof of reincarnation. "The knowledge of reincarnation gives us new insights," she writes. "A colossal portion of humanity is morally and ethically confused. The churches have had two thousand years to teach us why we're here, where we come from, and where we go when we die - and they've failed miserably." She explains how an understanding of reincarnation helps us put life's "unfairness" - or what seems unfairness - into perspective and fully appreciate the divine plan.

What the churches have failed to do in more than two-thousand years, Evans manages to do in a little over 200 pages. "The new knowledge has taught me where I fit in with the unseen forces around me - and why," Evan sums up her psychic adventures. For those who have not had similar adventures, this book can provide much food for thought and be a positive step toward understanding what life is all about. For those who have had similar experiences, the book can provide reinforcement and further insights.

It is an interesting, informative, intriguing, and inspirational read.

I have read all of the books that international Medium Derek Acorah has written so far as I am a strong fan of his. I must mention that all of his books are available on Amazon.com. This book is yet another fascinating book that takes you further than his previous books, and he does not let you down! Yes, I too am a Medium, but that does not mean that I still can't learn and enjoy reading about other gifted people. I have seen Derek in action, and I must say he is one of the world's best. In all of his books, including this one, Derek brings you to the mysterious world of ghosts, spirits and haunting. He goes way beyond that and tells of his life and personal experiences which I find fascinating as will everyone who reads this. He is so good and in demand that he has had many successful T.V. shows including "Most Haunted", Derek Acorah's Ghost Town's" and is currently the star of his new show: "Paranormal Eygpt", which I have watched and found that I wish my own abilities were as good as his. I recommend this great book, written in a down to earth style and contain true stories. Reading his works make me wish to some day meet & perhaps work with him. This book for me gets five stars! It's the best book you could ever find on psychic developement. It has everything, to energy manipulation to psychometry. She shows you how to open up psychicaly step by step and the exercises are really gonna help you to develop you psychic skills. I think it's weird no body wrote a review before me because it's really the best book on psychism.
