I loved this book, it was written as though Dorothy was speaking to me and only me. I felt the warmth in her words. I thought it was great having the exercises to try out through the book, and I shall be buying the CD to go along with it. It gives everyone hope and inner strength for the future and beyond!

Aura Soma has helped me discover myself in an amazing way. This is a precious book about everything that Aura Soma is. Great for a beginner, wonderful for a more advanced student.

Joanne Brunn's basic premise is that we all are both with psychic skills revealed by hunches or 'gut feelings', and that these instincts come from a core intuitive nature which is phased out during childhood. There's hope, she maintains, for re-instating these abilities, and Awakening Your Psychic Skills: Using Intuition To Guide Your Life fosters this hope through chapters which teach how to awaken long-dormant instincts, apply them to daily situations, and how to predict the future.

Anodea does a great job with beginning instruction on clearing and balancing our own Chakras. She has a very calm and smooth delivery. I was very impressed.

In all the books I've read, this book has the most interesting and well written case studies I have ever come across. I have re-read it a thousand times. I would love to meet the author and pick his brain. If you get a chance to get a copy of this, BUY IT. And no, my copy is not for sale! If anyone has anything you think I should read, let me know! Out-of-the-body-experiences (OBEs) are among the most remarkable of psychological phenomena, challenging as they do our fundamental assumptions about reality and consciousness. Following a series of such experiences many years ago, I sought an explanation for them. I found references to them in texts from Plato to Aleister Crowley, but nowhere was there anything approaching a coherent, rational theory. There were - and to a regrettable extent still are - two opposing viewpoints: on the one hand you have the supernaturalists, with talk of "astral projection" and full of advice on how to deal with the demons you will encounter on the various "astral plains", and on the other, the orthodox scientific community, who find the whole subject rather embarrassing and would prefer not to be associated with it. I could find no author who understood the importance of OBEs and who approached them in a scientific manner. Until I discovered Blackmore's book. It is without question the definitive work on the subject. It is a model of scientific rigor, and the thoroughness of her research - in psychology, folklore, occult philosophy and more - is astounding.

The supreme philosophical and psychological quest of our time is for an explanation of consciousness. That will not be achieved without taking account of the anomalous ways in which consciousness can sometimes manifest itself, of which OBEs are the most striking examples.
