This book tells about the spiritual conflict that has continued throughout time. It is classified as occult but should be better classified as history or non-fiction. For example it tells us about Adolf Hitler and the fact that he was a member in the OTO established by A. Crowley. He also spoke with such mesmerising oratoracle prowess yet lacked the education to back his speeches. Many believe he was spiritually influenced. The book goes back to basically the beginning of time to present, is extensively cross referenced and researched. It will enlighten even the most sceptic reader to the spiritual good and bad influences that have effected mankinds history. It touches on theories that have not been proven but yet strike a familiar chord that can be easily recognized as very likely such as why is it that in early history there is tales of dragons and the like....but where are they today. One theory states that as mankind has become more advanced the spirits (who can appear as anything such as angels) have become more tactful. It tells of strange coincedences such as recorded accounts of spiritual manifistations being accompanied by strange lights, smell of sulfur, a strange buzzing type of noise. It is also present in a large number of UFO sightings. I could go on and on but you will just have to read it for yourself. If you can find it. I found my copy in Palma, Mallorca but gave it to a person that didn't believe in the after life or angels and demons. Changed her outlook but I never got my book back. (end). Can you also help me locate another copy please. Thank you. Sincerely, Rick E. Bowli

The story begins in the distant future after a nuclear holocaust nearly destroyed the world. After the holocaust, man started to explore space looking for intelligent life. Only one being was discovered, and that was the Patriarch. He had ESP abilities. After the recovery of the Earth, children are born with ESP abilities. They are dubbed "Espies." The Espies, however, are feared and hated because of a man named Colby who had an encounter with the Patriarch and was terrified that it read his mind. Colby then started a cult that spread hate of the Espies.

One of the Espies is Dee. Like her mother, she has the ability to levitate herself and objects as well as read minds and feelings. She was one of the most powerful Espies yet to be born, and when the first Espie Academy was opened, she was one of the initial students. Dee's father had been working for many years to create a jump ship, or a ship that can travel between galaxies. Unlike other jump ships, this would be small, fast and have an intelligent computer with sentient that could communicate with its voice as well as its mind. After graduating as the only Espie ranked 5, the highest rank, Dee is put on her first job at the future version of an airport. This doesn't last long, however, as a dark Espie, or an Espie who wants to take over humans and is kidnapping children, is caught by her and crippled. To stay out of the public eye, Dee is reassigned and reassigned again until more dark Espies find her and she must call her father's sentient jump ship, Hal. As she is being picked up, a jump ship full of dark Espies appears and uses their minds to kill Dee's father and some crew members. Enraged, Dee destroys the dark jump ship and transports herself to a distant, unknown place. What has happened, and what will happen, to Dee?

Linda Griggs writes excellently in "DEE." Her plot twists are exciting, and her characters are interesting. This book is for ages 14 and up.

I couldn't put this book down! Normally, I don't read science fiction but the story had many more aspects, including romance. It was such an easy read without so many characters that you get lost in the detail. I highly reccommend it for a young adult or anyone else that enjoys a creative and original story-line.

I have read all but one of Derek's books so far, and have experienced him on three T.V. Programs that he starred in, "Most Haunted" (& Most Haunted Live), "Derek Acorah's Ghost Towns", and "Paranormal Eygpt". I myself am a psychic/medium and author (in the United States), and in my opionion, Derek is one of the most gifted professional psychic/mediums in the world today. His books bring you into another world, known by few. They are down to earth well written true accounts that bring us into the mysterious world of the paranormal. In his books he tells of how he knew he had these special gifts, drifted away from them for a career in professional football. However, it was ineveitable that his true calling was to be a great medium. Derek tells us how this came about and takes us on an adventure! Well written, you will be engrossed with his adventures as they take you into his world, the world of spirit. I highly reccomend any and all of his books and DVD's! The Spirit Garden: A Medium's Journey

A fascinating look into the adventures of Derek Acorah.
It's well written and reads just as if he were talking with you; in other words, no flowery language just normal conversation.

He tells great stories about various points in his life; I enjoyed it.

I bought this on a cassette 15 years ago when I needed help with insomnia - it really helped. Then I was in a plane "accident" and needed help to fly without pills. I have used this tape or the techniques on this tape for YEARS - it has been a saviour. I was on a plane last week coming home from Ireland and the tape finally broke!!! I was so glad to see it here on CD. A great buy.

A great tool to induce self hypnosis

I recently purchased this CD, and I truly love it.
In the first part (track one), Mr Konicov takes you with a "voice of velour" to a delectable mental retreat, where you build your own center or psychc laboratory.

The second part (track two) enhances and/or supports your state of mind each time you feel like returning to your mental retreat center to develop your abilities or to experiment.

This CD is a great tool and I recommend it to those who do not feel like recording their own tape to induce self hypnosis (sometimes listening to your own voice may distract you!), and to those who need a little mental push to relaxe and start making things happen.

"Dimensional Ascension: Multi-Dimensional Living for Light Workers" is very powerfully written by channeler/clairvoyant Jules Kennedy. It is the first book in the Utopian Vision Ascension Series. Ms. Kennedy channels the information in her book from multi-dimensional guides. She goes into great depth to explain who these guides are and the twelve dimensions and what is happening on each level. The book guides the reader to search within to find answers that they need to be able to manifest prosperity and happiness, and in doing so, achieve healthier relationships with others and themselves.

In the back of the book, there is a workshop section that has questions for the reader to answer to further their personal exploration. This can be done individually or in a group setting. At the end of each chapter, a page number is listed that corresponds the workbook questions with the chapter that was just read. I found this section to be particularly helpful, because by studying my responses to the questions, I was able to see if I really comprehended the material or if I needed to go back and review it further in depth. The book can be read without doing these exercises, but I found that the exercises greatly enriched my experience. I also was able to gain some insight into why I am blocking receiving abundance in certain areas of my life.

Ms. Kennedy states, "If you act out of desperation, you create resistance...If you are attempting to manifest a situation in your life and things are not moving toward you, then you are also repelling the situation with your desperation." This quote held a lot of meaning for me and as I read further in the book, I found the means to work through this issue. I feel that by using this information, I will be a much more effective Light Worker because many of the blockages that slow down my work have been removed.

This is a fascinating book that I highly recommend to other Light Workers, or people who are interested in becoming a Light Worker.

Discovering Your Psychic World is a well-planned workbook that addresses both psi functioning itself and some human faculties necessary for improving psi.

Focusing on the extended perception abilities (ESP), Annette Martin's workbook takes the reader step-by-step through exercises designed to help them understand the conscious and subconscious mind, improve creativity, and aid in decision making. These things are extremely important if one is to sort psychic information from normal perception and improve upon what one recognizes as psi.

This is truly a working workbook. It will help readers understand past experiences, and maybe even help them recognize new psi experiences when they happen spontaneously. Unless the exercises are practiced, however, improvement may be minimal. Martin provides exercises to improve telepathic connections with others, to pick up information from objects, locations, and even people, and to do remote viewing. In my experience with a wide range of development techniques, as well as in looking at spontaneous psi experiences and laboratory studies, Annette Martin really has a handle on things.

Proof for the "orthodox" naysayers...
Helpful Votes: 17 out of 17 total.
Review Date: 2004-12-31
"Distant Mental Influence" is a book that the field of research on the abilties of human beings (and animals for that matter) was in desperate need of.

For decades the so-called "orthodox" scientific community has been denying overwhelming evidence that human beings can simply influence each other mentally and otherwise from a distance because there hadn't been any "proper" scientific research on this.
And, because it couldn't fit the dimensions of the often narrow-spaced theories they hold so dear. This book changes all that.In an impressive array of experiments conducted by sizey teams of scientists including psychologists, neurologists and other professionals needed for them as well as different teams of subjects who participated in them it was shown with a more than satisfying ratio of success that mental influence does of course occur and it does so in different applications and beyond physical obstacles.

The subjects of certain experiments were placed in shut tight rooms while the influencer was in a considerable distance. Moreover the subjects were not aware if, when, and how the influencer was going to attempt to influence them. Yet the results were always impressively succesful. Speaking of those results they will undoubtedly be very annoying to the hordes of deniers in the scientific community.

The implications put serious questions (as well as some sizeable dents) in many of the currently accepted theories. While all this will not be any news to many independent researchers or honest scientists who arent interested in an ill-perceived "reputation", it is a very important step in finally coming to terms with the fact that there's more than meets the eye concerning interconnectedness and even more than we think happens in our dimension.

As to the book it might be tiring for some readers since it's focused more on the technical side of the experiments and less so on the implications or even the explanations of the results. This is in a way understood since the explanations aren't fully grasped yet. And I'm using the word "fully" quite vaguely here. The authors are more concentrated in presenting the scientific properness of the experiments and making sure the science thereof cant be questioned than actually dealing with what their showings imply. Obviously an extra tome would be needed for the latter and one should remember that there's several books on the market (albeit widely ignored) that do deal with this aspect.

Overall, if you belong among those who've accepted what these experiments prove as fact long before they took place this book will be invaluable in your arsenal when you are faced with stubborn and myopic argumentators who insist on living in a microscopic and boring world. If not, then "Distant Mental Influence" will definetely urge you to revise whatever theories you've been entertaining thus far. And that's to say the very least.

EXCELLENT SUMMARY OF BRAUDS PATH-BREAKING RESEARCH
Helpful Votes: 28 out of 28 total.
Review Date: 2004-09-07
This is a superb book, ranking eg with Dean Radins "Conscious Universe". It is a summary of Brauds research over many years into what he terms "distant mental influence" ie the ability of people to influence (or not influence) objects and processes that are distant in space eg the ability of one person to calm another who is in a distant room and unaware of the attempt being made to influence them. Brauds research shows overwhelmingly that distant mental influence occurs and is much more frequent and more powerful than chance would suggest. He argues that the influence occurs in some unorthodox way (not by usual sensory routes eg sound or sight) and, whilst this might be very low frequency sound vibrations....it is more likely to be some as yet unexplored process perhaps to do with non-locality and the connectedness of all things.

The excellence of the book consists in the careful presentation of summaries of research papers, the extensive references and sources quoted, the thought-provoking introduction that sets the research in context, and the balanced quality of all the research and comment.

This book is arranged in an A to Z format so you can dip in and out and I liked that. The entries are all fascinating and what is really good is that you get both sides of the story - sceptic and believer - leaving you the reader to weigh up the evidence and make your own mind up about the psychic world. My only issue with the book is that it could have benefitted from a few illustrations to break up the text, but apart from that it's a book I shall refer to again and again over the years.

It's awesome!! Yet, it could have been much better.

I purchased my copy from onespirit.com book club. At the time of release and still today, this book was only available via One Spirit and Amazon UK as primary places to buy.

I have really enjoyed this book. The scope and coverage is very broad and well articulated. There is a tremendous amount of information here. I have considered that it would have been great, if the entries were further developed, to include the aspects of "Ultimate Reality". However that would turn this book into at least a 5 volume set. Thus, making it into a more powerful resource. It has been stated that this book presented several points of view in each of the articles, based on what is generally accepted by others. Leaving the reader to choose for themselves, what they consider to be; within their individual belief window. I agree with this point. I have made some notes in my copy on different articles that would not be correct, based on the laws of Ultimate Reality. It's a great place to start your research. Then one needs to take that information and research further on. Hopefully one day soon, someone will put out a mutiple volume, definitive set, that addresses all these things in great detail. Showing what is truely so under Ultimate Reality vs. what is "thought" to be so, by the beliefs of the populous, within the physical plane of our world. I will treasure this book and keep it in my library for future references.

This is a synthesis of two one-volume works: Fodor's Encyclopaedia of Psychic Science and Spence's Encyclopaedia of Occultism. But it also surpasses them by revisions and additional up-to-date information. Although I haven't read the entire two volumes, I must say that I'm impressed by the comprehensive nature of the set. It includes articles about modern occult magicians like Isaac Bonewits and doesn't leave out critics of the paranormal such as James Randi. Also check out the 4-vol. Encyclopedia of Philosophy, 24-vol. Man, Myth & Magic (Cavendish, editor), 2-vol. Encyclopedia of Freemasonry by Albert Mackey, and Bernard McGinn's series of books on Western Mysticism. All recommended.

A wealth of Knowledge

It is hard to describe the feeling I encountered when I first came across this incredible reference in the halls of a high school library while working as a substitute and having some free time. At first I was rightly amused that such a tome would be present in a collection of that scope surely limited and censured by the schools board, but upon a closer examination it occurred to me that this was no mere book of odd facts and superstitions, but a source of immense wealth and startling detail. I began to test the volume by thinking of some place, person or order of which I had personal knowledge and looking it up to see how ridiculous the entry might be, only to be startled by the accuracy and sheer amount of information that vastly eclipsed my own very limited understanding.

In all honesty I began hatching a plan by which I might pilfer these amazing volumes, feeling a sense of anger upon realizing that the books, untouched by so much as a smudgy fingerprint were going to waist in a library of this computer age where students enter only to instant message their friends in study hall, until it occurred to me that the volumes were there for some purpose unbeknownst to me, that some student might wander across the volumes on accident while doing a research paper on Egypt and finding themselves attracted to the figure of Tutankhamen, and be introduced to a world view and appreciation of varied ways in which people come to term with the subtleties of matter, and awake to a new understanding of their environment, rich with color and significance, perhaps even being inspired to do further study on their own. After considering this possibility any thought of taking the texts for my own of course vanished.

Later I was able to procure the volumes at the right time and price from this very website, and have come to accept them as an indispensable tool supporting my own scholarly endeavors.

Bare in mind that the name Encyclopedia is accurate, and this collection is not, nor does it claim to be the start and finish of information on any subject covered, but as a beginning place for knowledge about the figures and events within, I have not seen it's equal. But don't take my word for it. See if you can find one in your cities library or university and take a look yourself. If you are a serious student of the mysteries or even a casual dabbler of many disciplines, you will see the value in them, and understand my high praise.

This book is a wonderful tool not only to help children understand their natural intutive qualities but helps parents understand their child and encourage thier talents in a way that does not frighten either the child or the parent. This book explains how parents can come to a better understanding of their child's questions when something happens to the child that they do not quite know how to handle. This subject is one that has been overlooked because parents just didn't listen or take time to take their children seriously when they talk of psychic or intutive happenings. All parents should read this book even if they don't believe in ESP. Knowing how to recognize words espressed from your child and if what they say is fact or fiction will be helpful to any parent.
