An outstanding book, "Mµnd" offers some pretty major insights into practically all areas of life. If you're looking for some guidance or some provocation; if life is stagnating, or directions are multiplying and you're wondering which path to choose; or even if you're just looking to read some decent gobbledygook; you couldn't do better than Skulin.

This book is fantastic. It describes a woman's near death experience, and her spiritual recovery. This woman has learned the valuable lesson of taking one day at a time and enjoying it as such. I recommend this book to anyone, especially those who have suffered from a traumatic event.

These are THE coolest books to use when regular schoolwork becomes so very, very boring! There are things to color, awards, bookmarks, puzzles, and so much more pertaining to the particular month the book is titled. I would recommend these books to teachers and homeschoolers. My daughter LOVED them (and so did I)!

The Pure Element of Time is a rich and evocative memoir, unsparing in the honesty of its details, both cruel and loving, both rich and poor. This work's Hebrew title, Havalim, Cords or Ropes, invokes the central idea of this book: the ties which bind the artist to the past, and, on the opposite pole, the great difficulty in binding the past down. Here, Be'er constantly plays with the notion of the plastic essence of memory and its connection to the writer's trade. It is most helpful that the only other major work of Be'ers translated into English is Feathers, for in The Pure Element of Time, that work, his first novel, is constantly alluded to. The characters in that novel, the mother and father in The Pure Element of Time, and the authorial voice, all sing playfully but sonorously about the loss of time, the capturing of memories, and the singular thing which can arrest (and in the process change) them all, the written word.

I read this entire book of poetry last night in a single sitting. It was a wonderful experience. Dr. Patterson's work deals with what's really important: the fragility of life, the inevitability of death, and how as fallible human beings we must deal with it. My nature is more that of commissar than yoga, but I must confess that his poetry captivated me. I admire his struggle to maintain his humanity and compassion in the face of the pain and suffering that daily occurs within the ER, and his ability to express it so eloquently.

Extremely funny account of actual experiences and names of real people in Atomic warfare in the middle to late fifties. Lots of top-secret data that was protected under war secrets act until 1997. Author has large supply of books available for a $10 bill. Guaranteed to produce some laughter. Universal satisfaction from the readers...

Never before has there been an author who can depict, so graphically, a vulgar story of death and destruction with as much charm and wit as Joseph McGee. His choice of words is always perfection and his charismatic writing style will leave you with a smile on your face, and fear in your heart. Snow Hill is a perfect reflection of a writer with endless talent.

Not only is Pat O'Brien an excellent broadcaster, he knows HOW to tell a story. This book is loaded with sports anecdotes to keep up with your sports fanatic friends. Organized by month so that you can easily find an appropriate story beforehand, O'Brien helps you recall unforgettable moments in sports that will make you sound just like an expert.

I don't get much practice with acute care, so I worried that it would be difficult to dredge up the facts I'd need in an emergency--exactly the kind of situation that makes your brain go on standby if you're not prepared. This book is a great little review course.

Each chapter (one per common symptom) is short enough that you could turn to it in an emergency situation and get what you need quickly--the questions to ask and what the answers mean. With this book it's easy to cut down on the "oh crud, I should have asked" moments.

The title sells the contents short (although it's certainly true that these are vital questions to ask in the ER)-- these are good questions to ask during an ordinary office visit, too, to help rule out an emergency situation.

This book is concise, and there aren't details about which tests to order depending on the answers you get, etc, but that's not what the book is supposed to be about, so I don't consider that a flaw at all--in fact, I prefer the quick and uncomplicated review of which questions to ask, particularly because the questions are about situations in which time may be of the essence. History is 80% of a diagnosis (or more), and this book is an excellent help in efficiently getting to that 80%.
