EMS Books

There aren't many books published addressing the task of proper EMS documentation. I purchased this book hoping that it would serve as a good reference and guide throughout my career, especially considering the liability of writing these reports. I found this reference to be extrememly disappointing in its content. It briefly describes the common "SOAP" format used in many reports, but does not give any examples or other types of formats that may be practical. A majority of the book consists of pages and pages of common medical terms and abbreviations, which I found to be minimally useful. This book definitely does not live up to its title or price.

There are many poems in this book. And many of them have to do with specific subjects. But, they certainly don't teach anything. The kids must have some knowledge of the topic prior to reading the poems and even then some of the language is very difficult.

This is completely worthless. The Spanish phrases have no phonetic pronunciations to guide you and on the CD the examples are all recited very quickly by a woman with a very thick accent. I recommend "Workplace Spanish for Fire and EMS Personnel." The phonetic pronunciations are given in the book and, on the CD, the phrases are recited slowly by a female with an accent, then by a caucasion without an accent.
