I am not a great fan of Reader's Digest (a personal thing), but I do feel they have a very good product with this book. I have had it for a number of years and there have been very few times that, when I had a question concerning house plants, this work could not provide the answer. Like anything else, this work in not by any means all inclusive, but it is quite a valuable resource when used with some of the other excellent books addressing this subject on the market. Information here is concise. The illustrations are quite good and the book is easy to use. This is certainly one you will want to add to your gardening library.

I've had this book for about ten years, and have used it more than any of my many other plant reference books. Tons of plants, great illustrations, concise, well organized. Any time a new plant enters my household I use this book to get better acquainted. Just came to Amazon thinking it would be a great gift for my friend and was disappointed to see that its out of stock (or out of print?). I hope I can track down a copy somewhere else...

This is a wonderful plant reference book for the beginner or for the expert. It covers everything you would want to know about any specific houseplant, a picture of the plant, its common name as well as its "plant" name, pest problems, etc. It is terrific!!! I wish it was still available as I need another copy for a gift.

The bast book for house plant hobbyists I have ever seen.

English and sophisticated vocabulary

Review Date: 2008-11-01
In the year 2000 there were approximately 400 million native speakers of English in the world. If we add about 100 million people who speak English as a second language, it can be seen that English has become the international language of communication. For this reason, there are millions of people studying English.
Although, the book Vocabulary for the College Bound Students, is written primarily for native English speakers, also those who would like to level their English to that of an educated native speaker will highly benefit from it.
Vocabulary for the College Bound Students deals with SAT and GRE vocabulary. This type of vocabulary is not listed in alphbetical order, but it is grouped in themes which makes it easy to remember. In addition to it, the book also provides variety of different vocabulary excercises for retaining the vocabulary. As I indicated above, the book is an excellent aid for native speakers and for English students. Simply for those who seek to understand articles in Time, Newsweek, The Economist and other sophisticated readings.

As a student studying this book, the advanced vocabulary within it contains valuable information in order to succeed on achievement tests, essays, and even daily spoken language. I proudly say that this book has changed how I think, read, and feel these words. The format of this book is very laudable (I got that from the book!). Hopefully others will increase there vocabulary for the sake of knowledge and understading.

I remembered having this book in High School. Even then I recognized it's value in helping to build a large vocabulary. None of the other vocbulary books even come close. Words are grouped by type, such as words related to "sobriety". Words are also split into groups with either Latin or Greek roots. No other book does this.
I have searched in vain for a resource to buy this book for my own children until finally ordering it from Amazon. Buy this book for your High School student BEFORE he or she takes the SAT. Thanks Amazon.com for being such a great source of hard-to-find books!

I can't tell you how much I value this book. I first used it in 6th grade -- over 30 years ago! -- and managed to hold on to my copy. This book's value has actually improved with time. Schools do not teach vocabulary the same way this book does, much to their shame. Instead they teach students to learn long lists of unrelated words, making it harder for them to truly build a vocabulary. The order of this book is much more natural and really helps students learn to understand and appreciate words. I have been using it with my kids, hoping they'll have the same success with it that I had.

J. Marshall Craig has chosen a unique vehicle, that of email correspondence, to carry on in the tradition of "The Canadian Conspiracy" and almost everything ever done by Rick Mercer. Having been born in Canada and now living in the US, he is uniquely qualified to observe for us the foibles and quirks of both cultures, all neatly wrapped up in a package conspiracy theorists will delight in.

Deep belly laughs ensue. Puns are served with the care and preparation of a gourmet dish. Satire is delivered with gentle understatement. One of the funniest looks at our culture I've read.

A hilarious little read! I think i woke most my fellow flyers on a recent flight back, ironically, from Boston. I couldn't put it down. I don't know what I enjoyed more, a Canadian's view of an American, or an American's interpretation of a Canadian.

J. Marshall Craig's charming book, Eh Mail, is a fast, funny and vividly voyeristic read consisting entirely of e-mail correspondence between an American intelligence agent stationed in Canada, his wife and sister in his hometown of Boston and his CIA supervisor in Washington, DC.
Predictably, the laugh riot correspondence chronicles, with both astonishment, contempt and a nano-drop of grudging admiration, the Canadian way of life: Ottawa winters (long and cold), health care (universal and free), Canadian cuisine (including such French Canadian delicacies as poutine and tortier), strong beer(Moosehead), government funding of the arts (vigorous) and the lack of non-stop flights to Edmonton, Alberta ("a radically right-wing Canadian version of Texas"), where local newspaper columnists "loudly and defensively proclaim" their satisfaction with living there.
Any Canadian living in US will laugh out loud at agent Avery Beckett's voyage of discovery north of the 49th parallel. (No, Toronto is not the capital of Canada. Yes, Raymond Burr, Alex Trebeck, Jim Carrey, Peter Jennings and Michael J. Fox were all born in Canada.) And everyone will be tickled by the clever humor and ubiquitous references to the many Canucks in Hollywood.

This is a lovely book - romantic, charming and funny - about the author's travels through Spain along with his artist girlfriend, an ancient tent and hardly any money. He is a poet, with hippy leanings and a quest to escape the mundanity of life in the heat and koleidoscopic skies of Spain (not forgetting the ants). As his girlfriend paints pictures in watercolours, he paints them in words, and creates a canvas of wonderfully astute (and sometimes seeringly honest) observations amidst poetic visions.
I would recommend anyone to read this book who has ever wondered what it would be like to journey into the unknown and back again.

I'm not a big reader and usually give up on a book if it doesn't draw me in, in the first few pages but I could relate to the editorial on the back page and wanted to read on.

The thought of leaving our mundane jobs and paying bills, to seek adventure in foreign lands, always returns to haunt us through different stages of our lives. I did just that years ago, but only lasted six weeks until the money ran out and couldn't find work. That six weeks seemed like six months, as there is so much to explore when your mobile, with no responsibilities or demands for rent and bills. Just the richness of life.

In some ways it's always nice to come back home and make a new nest, you appreciate what you have again for a while, until you get fidgety again.

This book encapsulates the struggles and dreams we all face in our own little worlds. The author draws you into his mind and deepest thoughts in a whirl wind of poetry, through the cobwebs of his past and the determination for a better future.

The first few pages are quite heavy but I would recommend you persevere as you start to unravel his complex mind.

Great book and a real achievement Christopher Pusey!

this book is sooo chilled! basically it documents the travelles of chris and trudy as they go on a jouney round spain.its approach is beautiful, humourous and meandering, quite different to anything ive read in a while.i stupidly thought that books about travel would be sort of tourism advertisments, but puseys narrative record of his relationship with trudy, whats around him, and the people they meet is humourous, reflective an tinged with dreamlike stoned insight.this is definetly a book to read sitting outside with a cup of coffee and if its to your liking, maybe a joint or two and just get drawn into the atmospheric, but completly down to earth and a sweetly tongue in cheek adventures.this book kicks [butt] for a first time author and also much appreiciated are the beautiful poetry extracts and cover painting, completing the vibe of chilled outness and also honest art.i just loved it

I've just finished reading Eh? Is for Ants - what a book! It has everything - travel, love, drugs, moonlight, manic depression, utopian bliss when all is candy, beaches, poetry heatstroke, poo-stroke, nudist strokes, tents and tense situations, good art, bad art and, occasionally, ants.
What is it? Basically a travelogue based in Spain, but then again, it's a full on romance, a planned and daring escape epic from a life of work, playstaton games and dope, to a life of...well, work, gameboy games and dope - which luckily enough leads to a fantastically moving suicidal finale - otherwise this true story may well be still in the writng.
Why the title about ants? - Main characters, Chris and Trudy from Inverness, Scotland have no idea what life is all about, but the millions of ants in Spain, Portugal and Morocco seem to have it sussed: leave it to them, take a holiday.
And the suicidal end? Trudy is on the run from mental institutions which is where she ultimately ends up. Things get a little close to the edge.
True story - Yes, allegedly.
In a few words - funny, moving, inspiraional, sensual and stoned.
Rating - five stars, read it - it's gonna be more massive than On the Road.

Most Americans do not realize how much their tastes in gardening have been affected by marketing on the part of lawn care companies. Nor do they seem to realize what environmental havoc they wreak through the lawn care practices preached on TV, and promulgated every time they watch the Masters Golf tournament on TV and think they should try to emulate those greens and fairways at home. They have been seduced into an unrealistic world that wastes their time (why mow?), money (why put fertilizer down 4 times a year?) and the environment (Do they really even have the weeds or bugs in their lawn that the 'weed and feed', and 'grub killers' are prescribed for? If not, why are they paying extra for the privilege of putting down toxins they don't even need?)
This book is a scholarly approach to reviewing the problem - highly recommended if you tend to ask "WHY?" before "How much?"

This book's forté is 2 things: Its' explanation of the negative impact of millions of monoculture, traditional lawns - not on just the environment, but on the lifestyles and wallets of those who tend them. And then it offers sound advice (which does -NOT- start with "get rid of your existing grass") which can be easily followed by the average homeowner. The solutions proposed in this book are not radical, unattractive schemes, and most of the suggestions offered will result in a BETTER LOOKING YARD and savings of time and money. I read it from cover to cover twice. I hope to soon have my yard working for me, instead of me working for my yard.

I found a good compliment to this book in "The Lawn, A History of an American Obsession," by Virginia Scott Jenkins. If you're interested in more of the history and background of the entire lawn concept, (and some neat old pictures of advertising,) you'll love this book. It explains how agriculture, chemical companies, the garden industry, golfing, housing developments, world wars, etc... and the advent of new inventions have come together to result in an entire lifestyle revolving around 'the lawn.' The complete answer to the question, "Why do we have lawns, and what did people used to have around their property?" Read this, then read "Redesigning" to see what having all these lawns does to the world and the people in them, (and, of course, suggestions for improving things in your own little slice of the world.)

I have to say that I bought this book on a lark, not expecting much from it. I was wrong. It presents a whole new way to look at the typical suburban lawn, namely mine. I have to admit that I have not yet come to grips with the notion that a dandilion might have a place in my lawn, but I have come to love the sea of white that is a clover lawn in bloom.

The difficulty in that is that my neighbors do not love my clover lawn. Mowed short, my new lawn has still drawn criticism. Next spring, I will begin to add elements of a meadow to my lawn. That should be an adventure with my neighbors.

The book is really interesting. What is does more than anything else is to rewrite what might be possible in even thinking about what "lawn" means. That there is an alternative to a sea of uniform green is wonderful. That adding the usual fertilizer/weed killer chemistry actually takes the life out of my lawn is an eye opener. And that one might be released from being enslaved to a kind of lawn that is utterly foreign to where I live is truly a relief.

The practical steps back to sane lawn work and to a life giving lawn are clear, useful, inspiring, and effective. Take a look at this book. Read it slowly and at least allow the possibility that it offers a better way.

Inspirational and informative!

This is a wonderful resource about a very important environmental problem - the American lawn. The diagrams are especially clear and complete. It provides the history of the lawn, scientific background about the problems associated with the lawn, and also gives very practical advice about how to create a Freedom Lawn. I initially got this book (first edition) from the library, but decided this was one I wanted to have for my personal reference - especially since the second edition includes updated information.

This book is a comprehensive survey of all topics related to becoming a lawyer in Canada. It provides information that will assist you from your first thoughts of wanting to attend law school up to the day you are finally called to the bar, as well as web links and names of other books that may be of assistance. It is honest and thorough and I would recommend it for anyone who is considering law school, on the path to law school or already in law school. This book is a fresh account of everything law school related that does not deceive, patronize or beat around the bush. The author uses his own experiences and that of his colleagues to provide helpful examples and problem solving techniques. It is evident to me, in reading this book, that the author is selflessly committed to providing the most accurate, up-to-date and constructive advise to Canada's future law community. Mr. Letourneau's out-of-the-box thinking and open personality wonderfully complement this books unique style. [...]

Applying to and attending law school in Canada can be a challenging process. Unlike the many books that focus on the experience in the US, this book specifically looks at the Canadian system. 'So, You Want to Be a Lawyer, Eh?' outlines the process and offers tips to improve your results in the application process, at law school and in finding an articling position. I will be attending law school next year and I am confident that this book will help me succeed.

I highly recommend anyone considering a career in law in Canada to read this book!

As a future Canadian law student, I was frustrated with the lack of guide material available to Canadian law students. All of the material I was able to find was aimed toward American students. Since there are some differences between the way the two countries educate their lawyers, it was important to find a book like this that addresses the particular elements of Canadian Law School.

I highly recommend this to anyone contemplating law school in Canada.

The book is an absolute must-read for those considering pursuing a career in the law. A number of books address the topic in the U.S. context; however, this is the first book I have encountered that thoroughly addresses: (1) Canadian law school life, (2) tips that will help one land the articling position of their choice; and (3) work as an articling student and junior lawyer in Canada.

The book is very comprehensive, well-written, and well-researched.

This book proved to be a good reference material that is written in laymen terms and formatted in an easy to follow chronological order taking you from the application process to the law school experience to seeking out law firms for articling.

The author, an articling law student, has taken the time to explain what potential law students should consider when seeking a career in this field.

This book also provides reference to several websites that will be useful in preparing one for the LSAT to selecting a law school to financing your education.

I definitely recommend this book as a planning tool for highschool/university students and mature adults considering a career in this field.

Is a collection of four novellas written by some of the finest women of erotic romance. It is not one of the typical books that I read these days, being a contemporary and a little BDSM mixed in, but the stories were well written and I learned something new. Each story revolves around the Liege Casino where the characters find romance. For two couples, it had been staring at them for a long time. For the other two. they were strangers but found the love can happen in Sin City.

To Anya Bast, thank you for giving me an opportunity to read this book. It was great and I had a blast reading it. However, I am looking forward to the next book in your Elemental Witches series.

To everyone who checks out my blog, I hope you will take the time to remember this review when you see this book on the shelf of your local bookstore. Maybe, you will walk out with a book that turns into a keeper.

Happy Reading Friends.

I really loved this anthology. I do admit that my favorite story was Stripped by Lauren Dane. If you have not yet read one of Ms. Danes books then get thee to her book lists and buy, buy, buy. Her books are well written and her characters are some of the most exciting and interesting
hero's and heroines to grace the pages of romance. In Stripped we meet Dahlia. As Tess said in the movie Working Girl "I have a head for business and a bod for sin." This fits Dahlia to a tee. She is working hard for her masters degree. To keep her in books and tuition she is working at the Dollhouse a burlesque dancer. It is at the Dollhouse she meets Nash. Nash the brother of the owner of the Dollhouse has looks, charm and money. What more could a girl want? Oh our Dahlia
is not just any girl and Nash must work to win her trust.
Nash not only has to overcome what his circle of friends think about Dahlia status but Dahlia's own insecurities. Stripped is one of those stories that you hate to see come to an end. The Characters are so vivid and you hate to turn that last page and know that your time with them is over. I am thrilled to see new faces in romance. So many of the authors I grew up reading have moved on to other genre's and left us behind. I find that the new talent that has come up from E Book publishers to he print media are some of my most loved. Run out and buy this book you will not regret the great reads.

What Happens in Vegas, the first anthology from Harlequin's line of erotic fiction, Spice, shines! Four novellas tied to a common place, The Liege Casino, each story is nevertheless a stand-alone work and should be enjoyed as such.

Lauren Dane's Stripped is about so much more than appearances -- her characters are vibrant, real and alternatingly tough and sweet. Dahlia (who's a burlesque dancer, NOT a stripper) has every reason to keep her distance from the delicious Nash, but oh, how satisfying it is when they get together.

Anya Bast's The Deal is sweet and sexy, a tale of lovers turned friends that heats up the pages but never loses the romance of the story. Cassidy and James' journey from confidantes and friends to lovers is ultimately swoon-worthy, believable and lovely, and I thoroughly enjoyed it!

What Happens in Vegas is a great read, heavy on the erotic content without missing the mark with the romance and love.

Great read! Highly recommended!

Cocktail waitress Carinna doesn't do relationships and she thought Hank understood that fact when they hooked up - apparently not since he's gone and ruined everything by proposing. She likes her men just like her martinis - the dirtier the better and nowhere does marriage fit into her plans.

Fortunately long time friend Jack knows exactly what Carinna needs and isn't afraid to give it to her. His only problem is he isn't interested in a casual fling with her - he wants to make their relationship permanent but will he be able to convince her that they can have a red hot smoking sex life and still remain friends?

Ms. Copeland kicks off this anthology with a fun and sexy story that will have readers smiling as they imagine Carinna and Jack's impassioned battle to gain their fondest desire - each other, despite themselves.

THE DEAL by Anya Bast
Cassidy works as a shill, attracting patrons to the tables by posing as one of them and playing with house money. She's been experiencing a sexual dry patch ever since she was stood up at the altar but she's ready to rectify that problem and couldn't imagine anyone more appealing than blackjack dealer Jack to help chase away the cobwebs.

Jack has been in love with Cassidy since he moved to Vegas three years ago but he isn't sure how she feels about him. He does know that she was deeply hurt when Damien stood her up. It's been a year since that fateful day and he's ready to act on his feelings. Her comment about being sex-starved gives him just the opening he needs. Cassidy may think they're just `friends with benefits' but after five days of playing Jack's very sexy personalized version of blackjack she may just decide to give love another chance.

Ms. Bast takes the `friends with benefits' storyline to new heights by incorporating the couple's blackjack challenge and oh my, the sexual acts the winners come up with have you practically sweating in anticipation of each night's game.

STRIPPED by Lauren Dane
Burlesque dancer Dahlia may have a body that sends men into overdrive but she's no powder puff. She's determined to get her business degree and make a name for herself in the business world but not many people see past her looks or view her as an intelligent woman. At first her boss's brother, Nash, appears to be exactly like every other man who's ever hit on her - only he isn't easily deterred.

Nash is used to women falling at his feet for a bit of attention so being rejected and put in his place by Dahlia is shocking and more arousing then he ever thought it would be. Seducing her to his way of thinking is going to be a time-consuming project and for once he'll have to use his brains rather than his sex appeal and wealth.

Ms. Dane proves that you should never judge a person by their occupation with STRIPPED. This story will have you alternating between laughter and sighing as Dahlia puts Nash through his paces and forces him to court her if he's truly interested.

RED HANDED by Kit Tunstall
Amy's the brains behind a plan to rob the Liege Casino, but when her co-conspirator gets greedy too fast, she finds herself at the mercy of the owner. There's no doubt she's going to pay for her refusal to give up the name of her partner and it's obvious Roan is willing to use every means at his disposal to convince her to talk. There's just the little issue that he has no clue that his thief is actually a young woman.

Roan is bound and determined to force Amy into revealing whom she was aiding in stealing from his casino - but since she's not cooperating, he chooses to accept her offer of repayment by becoming his companion until the debt is paid. Neither of them had any idea that they're arrangement would prove to be the most satisfying thing they'd ever experienced.

Ms. Tunstall finals out this book with RED HANDED a pulse pounding story that will capture your attention right away and leave you gasping for more. Amy and Roan certainly don't seem like a match made in heaven but they're a couple you grow to love.

I've always had a fascination with Las Vegas. It's such a wild city where dreams are realized or destroyed. With WHAT HAPPENS IN VEGAS... Jodi Lynn Copeland, Lauren Dane, Anya Bast and Kit Tunstall offer readers a very hot and alluring look at the people who live and love there. Each of the authors' stories is refreshingly different which makes this book almost impossible to put down between stories.

If you're looking for a fun read by some of today's talented authors then be sure to pick up a copy of WHAT HAPPENS IN VEGAS... it's a book that will definitely satisfy your desire for a little something extra in your storyline.

It's About Time

In the intro, Chabon calls to attention what so many of us felt for so long; That this little-known book is the (not so)-secret third part to the holy trinity of the birth of the Modern Age of comics. Sure, everyone's heard of Watchmen and if there's a comic reader who missed Miller's Dark Knight out there, I haven't met them.

What about Flagg though? American Flagg hasn't had a decent collection printed in decades, while we've seen the other two cape-clad books go through collection after collection. In 1983 Chaykin was doing things that some STILL fear today. His paneling in itself has imprinted itself on the comic world like few others can claim. This book had a hand in bringing some of our favorite modern characters to the frontlines, inspiring them to be relevant, real and for God's Sake, to have a sense of humor about themselves.

I've attempted to introduce this book to a lot of people; but until now, they were forced to either buy the old collected paperbacks from the 80's (if they could even find them) or worse still, track down the countless single issues. This new collection marks an age where AF! can truly be reintroduced to a new generation of readers in a collected, easy to find format.

As other reviews said above, it's a top notch production, with great binding, thick matte pages, intros, outros & even a new Chaykin Flagg! story in the back! Hopefully this classic saga will be more than the Sonic Youth of comic books after this; hopefully Wizard and the rest of the comic mags are smart enough to make the big deal out of this release that it deserves.

At Amazon's sale prices, this huge 400+ pg. hardback is a steal. If you dig smart, political pop art that's well written/drawn and action packed, you'll love Flagg. You won't regret this purchase, I promise you. Enjoy!

When this series originally appeared in the Eighties, it was strikingly clear that Chaykin was a major comics talent and that FLAGG! was far beyond the ordinary in its originality and tasteful raunch. The stories flow, so unlike so much "graphic novel" prattle and peep being published today. The characterization is truly remarkable with all-too-human characters who enchant even as they repulse. In many ways, with its sleazy reality vids, ugly and brutal, but entertaining hyperviolence, and sleazy and inept politicos, the series proves a bit too prophetic to our own day. All of it together produces great comics reading with a sheer lovely bent to the literary that endures and endears. The epitome of the medium.

Image puts Marvel and DC to shame with this definitive edition of one of the most distinctive and memorable comics of the 80s, by one of the most creative (and underappreciated) writer/artists in the field.

This is a professional-quality hardbound edition that will remain definitive for years to come. This volume features a real (gasp!) SEWN BINDING, high-quality, matte-finish paper, a gorgeous job of restoration, and even a sewn-in ribbon bookmark. All at the same price-point as DC's glued-binding, printed-on-newsprint Fourth World Omnibuses (and 1/2 - 2/3 the price of Marvel's Omnibus series, which also "feature" glued bindings).

This is how you do it, people.

In the early 80s Howard Chaykin launched one of the most innovative and influential comics of the decade. His dynamic storytelling style uses the media as a Greek Chorus to fill us in on the background of the world and keep us up to date on the story. Reading it you quickly see how it influenced the structure of Watchmen, Dark Knight Returns and other classics of the late 80s and beyond.

His story forecast the collapse of the Soviet Union and a hyper-media, hyper-violent America abandoned by its masters. The main character is an ex-TV star replaced by a CGI version of himself. Some of his vocabulary like Go-Gangs and Policlubs made its way into other science fiction like Shadowrun.

25 years later its still timely and still a darn good read.

After several failed attempts to bring out this collection it has finally arrived. It is hard bounded and with quality paper and looks great. This collection covers the "Hard Times", "Southern Comfort", "State of the Union", and "Solidarity for Now" story lines which build on one another. In addition it included two wrap-up stories and a additional story from HC. The stories in this collection are great and although written in the 80's, still feels relevant. This is what Chaykin fans have been waiting for and its really here. Bring on Vol 2.

Before reading this book, I had at best a passing interest in the subject of the chakras. Many of the other books I considered purchasing that dealt with this subject, were dense and difficult to understand. This book however is neither.

The Chakras is a concise yet comprehensive treatment of the topic of the chakras. It is written for your modern day person and draws information from a variety of different teaching systems and cultures. The result is a synthesis of the most important and well-studied "new age" ideas and concepts. This is much more than a book about chakras and touches upon diverse subjects including the use of color and sound for healing, as well as shamanism. The illustrations are simply gorgeous and the text includes many useful techniques for meditation and visualization. I highly recommend this book to anyone interested in expanding their perceptual horizons and learning about the chakras.

FYI- Knowledge of the chakras is critical for the understanding of shamanism and Toltec sorcery. I also recommend: 1) Shaman, Healer, Sage-Alberto Villoldo. This book gives a shamanic description of the chakras and explains how this knowledge fits in to the healing practices of shamans.2) The Path- Esmeralda Arana. Explains how knowledge of the Chakras plays a role in sorcery.

Although every book that I own on the charkas is very valuable, each one has something special that sets it apart. Mercier's book is no exception.

The introduction explains the concept of auric energy fields and the next chapter discusses the focused energy fields, the vortices within these fields that are the chakras and how they are connected to the endocrine and central nervous systems and the spine.

The Indian tradition is discussed next, with reference to Yoga, and then each chakra is investigated in depth with beautiful illustrations and the appropriate meditations.

The book includes a chapter on charkas and sound - each chakra responds to the primal vibration of sound through mantras, chanting, toning, singing, musical scales and specific instruments.

The chapter A New Awareness explores beyond the 7 well-known chakras into a new state of consciousness. Here the additional charkas are discussed: Earth Star, Navel (hara), Causal, Soul Star and Stellar Gateway that exist as potentialities within the sequence of the seven.

The chapter Chakras and Sacred Stones looks at the correspondences with crystals whilst the last chapter deals with healing the body and mind.

The text is richly enhanced by brilliant paintings, photographs and illustrations, including illustrated exercises, and the book concludes with a bibliography and index.

I highly recommend this book if you want to learn all there is to know about chakras. Drawing on scientific research and a western approach, it explains the seven major chakras in detail using colorful photography and charts. It also explains the 21 minor chakras. I especially enjoyed learning how to nourish and heal my chakras through the many meditation, breathing, and visualization exercises. To my delight, it also includes a detailed account of how to heal your chakras using crystals, pendulums, colors and sound. My health and general well being have improved after doing the exercises and has given me a new perspective of how I view the world. I feel more at peace with myself and know I will refer back to this book time and time again.
