Images of our InheritanceThis is a book for young and old. The photographs of environmentally-endangered areas across Canada are superb; the authors provide useful facts and figures as well as a touching and sometimes amusing narrative of their adventures as they journeyed across the country.

An Amazing StoryThank you to Laura and Godfrey for capturing a piece of history that might have been otherwise been lost forever. These pictures and this story have an amazing lesson for all of us... that even the poorest of us can have rich blessings of friends, family and an extended network of community that can be more important than our physical surroundings. To all of us who have an influence over the shaping of bricks and mortar in communities, this book is a wonderful caution that we MUST NOT overlook the importance of community relationships in our zealousness to improve the physical conditions of the neighborhood. This is a delicate balance that must be preserved lest our community revatilization efforts be in vain.

Gorgeous color imagery from MexicoThis book shares the light, color, and poetry of Mexico with its readers. The photographer's passion for his subjects comes through with every photo. It is also an interesting view into the unique Mexican history of fiestas; the context of the traditions within daily life is very intriguing. I would highly recommend this book to those interested in either Mexico or color photography. It is a beautiful and sensitive work.

Excellent and EngagingThis is a fabulous book, the type that you can sit with for hours and enjoy. It is reminiscent of Sante D'Orazio's first book, but on a much simpler scale. The photos are great, the commentary a little bare-bones but interesting. As a photographer, it's also interesting to see how different photographers have captured the same subject, sometimes more than once. Highly recommended and nicely published.

Tintin with his cameraThis book covers 5 intimate subjects: (1) Anachronism Abroad: The life of David McDermott and Peter MacGough. They live 24 hours a day like 100 years ago, in cities like New York, Dublin . . . (2) Arabian Knights: The photographer was able to be invited by kings, Emirs, and Sultans in the Middle East, to photograph their lives and their horses. (3) Circus in Egypt: Shows the very local circuses in Egypt that have now totally disappeared. For 10 cents entrance you were able to see a cow with 5 legs or a woman in a fish body. (4) Transgenderism: Is a document on the famous drag queens in New York City of today before anybody had heard about them. (5) Brave in the West: This is the latest project the photographer has just finished and the first images are published at the end of this book. Again, it's a subject that is disappearing: the very local rodeos in Montana where the young men play as part of becoming a real cowboy.
The black and white photographs look like the old perfect photography. This book really pulls you into those 5 very private worlds the photographer was able to be part of for a small amount of time. I can go through this book over and over again without being bored!
