You are kidding me!!!!! I can not believe that there is actually a book written for those who want to cheat and destroy a
family. This is sick. If you are even considering something like this maybe perhaps try one of the few: counceling, divorce,
or growing up! Ha...Hanging in there for your children...give me a break. If this is your idea of a "favor" to them then
I would hate to hear about your mistakes. Maybe you guys should try looing outside of yourselves for once in your lifetime.

This is an extremely helpful book. I wish I had known this information some time back. I could have avoided a considerable
amount of emotional pain by not selecting the "wrong" type of person with which to have a clandestine relationship. Now I
have been in a loving affair with a wonderful man for two years. So far we have been able to keep this private. I know I will
have a better chance at keeping this relationship going with the information I have read in the book. I would highly recommend
this book!

There are many options to an affair and self-help books to guide you... and I have read just about all of them. This book
will only put you deeper into your problems and will not address the real issues at hand in your marriage. Of course, there
will be people who will endorse it, but it certainly won't be from me! I have always been pleased with the books I have ordered,
but this one doesn't pass with even one star. Not only is this book detrimental to a marriage, it certainly smacks of greed
and self-fullfillment. Of all the self-help books that could be endorse, this one needs to be reconsidered, I really dislike
this book! :(
Finally, an honest view of affairs

I loved this book! It contains the most open and honest assessment of extra marital affairs I have ever seen in a book.
It reveals a fact about which our culture has been in denial: affairs are common and need not mean the end of an otherwise
good and practical marriage. Ben Franklin once stated that "as long as there is marriage without love, there will be love
without marriage." Many people will not like this book, as its ideas run counter to the prevailing cultural winds, but anyone
with an open mind will appreciate it.
A superb and useful book on a controversial subject

Although there are lots of books directed to "hurt" spouses, this book was the first one I found that seriously and compassionately
deals with a real problem that people seldom admit: What do you do when you are married and have children with someone who
is self-absorbed or self-centered and months or years of marriage counselling haven't changed them? They may be a good
parent and, knowing how important it is for your children's well-being, you stay for their sake. I felt that I was stuck
in a bad situation that would be going on for years while I grew older. Religion, hobbies, sports and community service
can't be everyone's substitute for a loving adult relationship.
This book was a lifesaver for me. It's very well written and full of practical advice. It helped me find and keep my special friend to help me through this until my children are older. My life is so much more bearable, so much happier now. It's not an ideal situation, but it has made it possible for me to stick it out for my kids.

I submitted a review and you did not display it. Was it because I did not like the book's premise? It took me 45 minutes,
at least, to compose my review; I am angry and frustrated.

While interesting, this is a very biased book. McCall wants to censor TV and about anything else transmitted by wave, cable
or satellite to his way of thinking. He brings up good points worth reading but don't expect a balanced argument. He repeats
much of the material several times including information about FCC decisions (he does not agree with.)
At 148 pages of text, this is a quick read but the message is short: TV (etc.) is mostly bad and parents (and the FCC) should control what the kids watch. "Most people these days would agree with that statement." Whoops, this is the kind of statement he uses to begin discussion points. Research references are mostly from obviously biased organizations.
The second part of the title is covered in the last 15 pages with the same idea repeated three or four times: Become a pro-active consumer. Even one letter can cause thousands (360 in fact) of dollars of fines. (He tells this true story several times.)
This is not an academic effort. It reads much more like a rant, a useful rant, but a rant none-the-less.

This is a must read for anyone concerned with the current state of American culture and where our media institutions are leading
it. Parents and teachers need to understand the influence of media and how to fight back. This book is well written, and
the arguments are well crafted. I recommend it highly.

a great reminder of age old truths, with practical applications.

It has now been over a month since I ordered this book and as yet have not received it. I am getting to the point that I hate
to order books because a lot of times, after the seller has collected his fee, you never hear from them again. Thumbs down
on this seller. And thanks for screwing me.
I am asked how to rate this item. I must rate it or it will not take it. How do you rate something that you never got? One I guess which is lousy.

This book is worthless!! The author treats his readers with contempt,by simply providing us with an justification - and ultimately
a raisond'etre - for the police 'force'. It appears to me that this is more apersonal book than an academic one. ...In short,
he is engaging instandard techniques of neutralization. The book in itself offers thinrationales for the 21st century 'need'
of the police force, and iseffectively a chance for Mr Waddington to catch up with some oldfriends. Social science can be
a fantastic subject, but not when itsabused like this. Anyone who buys this book should ask for their moneyback! END
