Excellent Information!
After being shown this book, I ordered two copies; one for my niece and one for my nephew, both of whom will be graduating from eighth grade next spring. Having gone through the experience of looking at, applying to, and choosing colleges with two sons, I can say that the information this book contains is right on the mark. It is thorough, succinctly presented, and easily understood. The list format and quotes from students present the information in a logical way that is fun to read. Organizing the lists as tasks to be considered during each year of high school makes the college search process much less overwhelming. I wish that "Countdown to College" had been available as my family felt its way through the process for the first time seven years ago.

A great book for preparing for college
This book is a wonderful resource on preparing high-schoolers to move through the college preparation and application process. I wish it had been available when my children went to college.

What a great way for my niece to plan for college!
I bought the book for my niece. Then I bought one for her mother. They are planning together for her college years. I haven't seen such a useful book in ages.

A Heroic Life
This is a book that comes straight from the heart. It is about a mother's heroic struggle over many years to help her developmentally-challenged son, whose immune system has apparently been severely damaged by a chemical intended for termites. This voyage through many years of treatment, through false starts, frustrating encounters with ignorant school teachers and officials, is also a spiritual journey that leads to encounters with forces of evil that seem otherworldly. All of this leads to shocking ending that no reader could expect. Highly recommended.

The Power of a Mother's Love
This book tells about how one mother never gave up trying to find help for her son. Her story is an inspiration to others who have to struggle for appropriate medical care, effective educational methods, and physical endurance to carry on over the years and never give up. After the first page, a reader cannot put it down. The story keeps unfolding, even when you think there can't be more. The Bryce family worked together to gain spiritual strength, and now Sarah shares their story with her readers.

Empowers Special Needs Families!
Sarah Bryce eloquently illustrates the challenges of having a son with special needs. The reader is transported into the world of the 1960's & 1970's, when little was known in the medical and educational communities about children with undiagnosable conditions. In a time where warehousing handicapped children was encouraged, Bill & Sarah Bryce bravely navigated the turbulent waters of ignorance, nonchalance & anger. Instead of giving up hope, they sought help in both conventional and unconventional arenas and were successful. This book is a lesson in tenacity, courage and love.

A most poignant account of caring for an aging parent.
Moskowitz has told the world her deeply personal story and in doing so, helps others to cope with the on-going loss of an aging parent. I am both a Geriatric Care Manager and the daughter of a mother who has Alzheimer's Disease. I found myself re-reading passages so I could remember them to share with my client's families. I also re-read parts to remind myself that I am not alone with the myriad of feelings that come with the role of caregiver. I intend to recommend that all of my clients' adult children read this book, it will give them great strength and comfort. Thanks Bette, for writing such a fine book!

NOT TO BE MISSED!!!
Moskowitz has captured in searing, honest and yet revealing candor the most private emotions and responsibilities we face. She's done this with full intent and determination - and as such has captured a private and public domain within each of us. She allows us hallowed moments to reflect privately, and that helps us accept our next giant step. What she speaks about is real and demands our honest reflection. She allows us freedom to see our destiny. Her nobility gives us a chance to once again see ourselves.

EVERYTHING YOU COULD WANT IN A BOOK
THIS A TRULY WONDERFUL BOOK, ABOUT AN AMAZING WOMAN.THE AUTHOR DELIVERS A GREAT STORY.THIS IS ONE YOU SHOULD NOT MISS. WELL WRITTEN AND TOUCHES THE HEART.DON'T MISS THIS ONE!!

Very insightful book
I lost my job and was at a total loss of what to do and where to go. After reading this book I now have a better idea of what I would really like to do with my life. This book is well written and easy to understand. Another great book that helped me was Rat Race Relaxer: Your Potential & The Maze of Life.

Wow--Bob Griffiths wrote this book for me!
I was attracted to the title of this book since I have been in the same field for 30 years and have begun to feel burnt out. I didnt see a way out before normal retirement, until I read this book.

This book has been very helpful to me since it includes a step by step guide to identifying your passions, what you do well, your fears, your financial picture (including differentiating between needs and wants), family concerns and more. Equally encouraging are first person reports from people who actually made dramatic life style changes and are doing what they love. I have gone over the sections and am just finishing evaluating my finances and feel that I am in a better position to make a change in the next few years. I now see that some lifestyle changes, an early or normal retirement with a reduced income and a part time job could give me options that will improve the quality of life for myself and my family.

Sometimes you need a nudge or another way of seeing things differently. This book has given that to me and I highly recommend it.

Wish I had this book 4 years ago!!
When I left the corporate world in June of 1998, it was quite a difficult period -- after 14 years, I left a high-paying job at a movie company in Hollywood and moved to a small Northern California town (without a paying job waiting for me) to write plays and screenplays. It was trial and error all the way -- with the emphasis on Error. This past Christmas I was given this book as a gift. Wow! What common sense guidelines, interesting case histories, and superb advice from Mr. Griffiths! While I can't undo past mistakes, this book is STILL useful in helping me plot out my goals and do it successfully. I urge anyone who is thinking of changing careers in mid-life (or even before) TO READ THIS BOOK! It will save you a lot of grief. Take it from one who knows!

Really enjoyable reading, a nice break from hi-tech.
Found this book very interesting and easy to read. The book shows the 'human' side of this technology and the enduring spirit of a man who wanted to live independant of the utilities. A man who dared to live the simplier life and enjoyed the hard work to get there.

If only there were 240+ million more like him.

Essential information put forth in a personal and moving way
In my quest to utilize this techology, I was delighted to encounter a volume that felt like it emerged from personal experience and not simply a rote tech survey. While I am not a particularly technical person, I found the information and presentation clear and direct. There is an undercurrent of personal charm I found engaging and added to my a sence of confidence in being able to do this. My wife and I are delighted with the results of what we learned and applied based on Mr Fowlers' book. Our second home in the woods was enhanced for it.

Year 2000 worriers should read this book
This fun book taught me how to think in terms of independent living. One of the best on my shelf.

Let This Book Be Your Construction Compass
Working within the industry, it is painfully clear how difficult it is for people 'on the outside' to make informed decisions, know what they are getting into and understand what they should be getting out of products, contractors and procedures. This is a good compass for the journey of building or remodeling any project. It helps you get organized, think through the process before you begin and 'trains' you to remain in charge to the very end. Recommended to me by an architect who worked with homeowners who followed this book. It's beneficial for both sides of the process.

The perfect companion for a new or remodeled home
This book is perfect for ANYONE who is building a home, looking to build a home, or remodel their current home. I have begun to recommend this book to all my clients, because it allows them to be informed of decisions and helps them to organize all of the important information needed when working on your home.

Highly Recommended!

From Sand Castles to Dream Homes
This woman is organized. Not only were the timelines helpful for each sub-job, but she also included steps I would have overlooked. I also like the physical size of the book - it's small enough for the toolbox!

Learning how to tap into the flow of the universe
The Future Is Yours: Do Something About It! by Raymon Grace is a spiritual self-help guide to learning how to tap into the flow of the universe and make simple changes in one's lifestyle, as well as identifying and dealing with habits in order to avoid conflict, promote healing, and embrace interpersonal cooperation. From thought processes, to actions, to emotional attunement, to the overall adjustments required to bring improvement in the quality of our lives are thoughtfully discussed in this encouraging and highly recommended treatise on holistic self-growth.

Got a problem? Do someting about it!
Raymon Grace is a true pioneer in the world of dowsing. Most dowsers are content to ask for information. But Raymon goes one step further and suggests techniques for dealing wih prosperity, ghosts and health issues. One the surface, this book is mostly stories about how he has done various things or met various people. He teaches by parable and you must be willing to look for the techniques here. But it is well worth it. I used one of his techniques to help my brother's health. The doctor said he would be in the hospital 2-3 weeks. Bro was home in 2 DAYS. Coincidence? Maybe. But maybe not. Get the book for yourself and try it.

The Future Is Yours: Do Something About It!
You're nuts to pass up this book! It's the real McCoy. Raymon Grace's words not only ring true but he gives us a wealth of information for correcting difficult problems we all face in daily life. By using personal stories, this mountain man, in plain English, explains techniques on how to get rid of negative energies, how to reduce tension, how to turn scowls into smiles.

The Best Wedding Book Ever!
This wedding book is the only book you will need when planning your wedding. I received 3 wedding planning books for my engagement and this was the one I kept. It was the only one that did not overwhelm me with a must have or must do concept. It explained all the elements I needed to make my wedding complete and it did it in words I could relate to and understand. This book helped me plan my wedding without feeling like I was ready to elope!

"WHAT A WEDDING BOOK"!!!
I am a local Boston Wedding Planner, (well between Boston and Providence)and I cannot believe all the information this book covers! It's great for wedding planners as well as do it your selfers! It leaves nothing uncovered with lots of great ideas! I have read many books on wedding planning and this one "takes the cake"--Bravo!!

Great Gift!
When I found out my brother was getting married, I wanted to get a gift for them to kick off the wedding planning that was both fun to get them excited about the event but also helpful in planning it, too. This book looked the most interesting and helpful of all the books on weddings so I got it. I ended up reading most of it myself before I gave it to them since it was so interesting and sensible. I like that it takes the task of planning a big event and makes it manageable by breaking it up into six pieces. I plan on giving this to all my friends who get engaged!

Divorce Empowerment: What You Need To Know, Do, And Say

EMPOWERMENT is SWEEPING the STATES
We were lost before DIVORCE EMPOWERMENT!

This guidebook is doing for us what no other divorce book or lawyer has been able to do. (It was enthusiastically recommended to us by a friend in North Carolina after he saw how miraculously it helped his divorcing clients.) Aside from being incredibly comprehensive, superbly organized, clearly written, and continually uplifting, DIVORCE EMPOWERMENT has features not found elsewhere. It has easily walked us through exactly how to adapt the legal facts so they were specific to our state of Illinois --- pure genius!

Thanks to Linda Power, an innovative --- yet wise, respectful author.

EVERYTHING in ONE BOOK for ALL AMERICANS!

Well-written, easy to understand - NY specific + more
There are no accidents: I met the author of this book when she had just received her first copies from the publisher; I was floundering trying to get accurate information about what to do, when and how to do it. Lawyers, legal referrals, community organizations and friends were trying to "help" by offering advice, much of it well-intended but inaccurate and COSTLY, both in the short- and long-term.

Linda Power's book is easy to read, well-organized, well-written, has excellent cross references, and nudges of positivism throughout: it has been both a life and time saver. It helped me to understand the legal terminology with which I was unfamiliar, and to be aware of the pitfalls of the legal system, specifically in relation to women's issues in matters of divorce and family law.

I recommend this book to others who are going through the divorce process whether you initiate it or are on the receiving end [KNOW what your attorney and the courts are saying to you, and what you might expect] and to attorneys who would like their clients to be well-informed and prepared. And shouldn't that be all attorneys...?

UNIQUELY EFFECTIVE TOOL
At last! A clear, organized, informative --- yet enjoyable and inspirational --- guidebook that effectively addresses the wide-ranging needs of my clients and supports them through the entire divorce process.

Storyline from Publisher
Good Girls Do! (Harlequin Temptation, 783) BLAZE by Julie Elizabeth Leto

After a handsome psychologist and a meddlesome sister nominate her for the “Most Virtuous Woman on Campus Award,â€? an attractive scientist is forced to go on a date with her colleague accompanied by a college newspaper reporter.

The Most Virtuous Woman on Campus. How is the world did Miranda Carpenter, professor of sexual education, find herself nominated for that? Now everybody thinks she's an innocent, including her sexy-as-sin colleague Noah Yeager. What she needs is some hands-on experience - and it's Noah's hands she's thinking about . . . Noah Yeager has always been attracted to sexy Miranda. Only, she seemed so distant, so untouchable. Now hd can't keep his hands off her . . . And she's doing a fair amount of touching, herself! Little does he guess that Miranda's on a mission. She might be a good girl, but she's planning to show Noah that when she's bad . . . she's better!

Leto's shines and her characters burn
Leto is one of the fastest rising stars in Harlequin's Temptations, and maybe the brightest. I look for her to make to jump to big books anytime. She has that droll Southern Charm and she imbues every book with it, and she know how to make the attraction between her leads sizzle. I especially appreciate how her females are not stereotype, but are women with minds of their own. With this book, she once more proves why I ordered her by name only and cannot wait until her next ones comes along.
Is there anyone who can get you into trouble more than a sister? That is the premise of Good Girls Do. At the University in Southern Florida (sorry, Julie did not use New Orleans again for she give such a texture to her works with that as a background!) Dr. Miranda Carpenter's sister pushed the CISS - Campus Institute for Safe Sex and Dr. Noah Yeager into nominating Miranda as woman of the year role model. Teri makes sure the papers pick up on it, and next thing Miranda is label "practically a virgin" - and as the late Robert Mitchum would tell you, there's nothing worse than a semi-virgin!!

Miranda is humiliated by this all, and Noah understands this, and had no idea Teri would shout it everywhere. Added to Miranda's humiliation is an attraction to Noah, but she has started away from the Party Animal that was known for his one night stands and love them and leave them attitude. Noah has been attracted to her for some time, but stayed his distance because he has had two bad relationships, one which ended in divorce.

However, Miranda is just ticked enough to take out her anger and frustration on Noah by winding up his clock and then teaching him a lesson as she decided to go after and win the CISS virtuous award.

As with all Leto's work, the banter is rapier sharp, warm and light, yet this story still manages to get the safe sex message worked in there.

Now, WE NEED Teri's Tale, Julie!!!

Delightful, Sexy - Great Summer Reading!
Can Miranda Carpenter resist the charms of Noah Yeager? It's not easy, but Miranda is determined to give it her best shot. Her sexy colleague doesn't help matters when he insists on 'helping' her win The Most Virtuous Woman on Campus award. Along the way, Miranda sets out to teach confront-your-conflict Noah a thing or two about commitment.

I LOVED this book! I'd never read one of Ms. Leto's stories, but I intend to correct that oversight. She has drawn very likeable, sympathetic characters to whom I was drawn immediately. Her dialogue is true and snappy. And the 'thunderstorm' love scene is guaranteed to leave your pulse pounding. [It was my favorite in the whole book].

This is a great book to tuck into your beach tote this summer. If you think it's steamy at the beach, just wait until you read Good Girls Do!
