I'm contemplating recovering my sofa and loveseat and checked this book out of my local library. While I was tempted to skip right ahead to the most complex project, I decided to start at the beginning with a simple pillow and follow the book through. I learned so much and the step-by-step instructions and illustrations were amazing!! This book is a keeper and I'm now going to buy one from Amazon.

This book is great. Instructions are clear and there are many photographs of cushions on chairs and other furniture, helping you visualize. There are also pictures and diagrams to help you clearly understand sewing instructions.

The books covers over 15 different types of cushions - from the very basic to advanced. (Bow-tie, frilled, piped, envelop, mitred, eyelet, turkish corner to name some.) Some of the areas other than cushions include applique, patchwork, machine quilting, etc. I am sure there is something in here for everyone. In fact, my dilemma is choosing just one from all these projects to work on first. I think you will have the same problem.

I picked this book up in a bookstore and was so satisfied with it that I am willing to purchase other books in this series (sew in a weekend series) on-line without actually checking out their contents - something I never do in the case of craft books.

Excellent reference book, good reading

This is quite the best specialist dictionary for collectors and dealers, and for translators like myself, checking that the English expression means what we hope. But there is a danger. Look up one expression and you find yourself reading several other entries as well, just for the fun of it. A most entertaining and erudite work. I know of nothing else to match it.

Great Book with lots of Step-by-step photos

I really liked this book. Not only does it include great photos of the finished project, it has photos of the sewing steps, not just a lot of text. I've sewn several pillows and shams in the past, but I wanted something that had a variety of choices and pillow options. Sometimes it's difficult to think of creative ideas for pillows and cushions, but there are some in this book that are new. I found the directions easy to follow and the photos help tremendously. There are heart-shaped pillows, pet beds, bean bags, cushions with piping and trim, even chair covers for upholstered chairs, sofas, plastic garden chair and director's chairs.

Definitely recommend

Unfortunately most soft furnishing books are disappointing. The same old stale ideas and uninspiring pictures. This book is different. The patterns are different and unique. Suggestions are inspiring. The addition of tuffets adds another inspirational component to this book. I am glad I bought it without a recommendation.

An excellent book for the player who already knows the basics of the game. It enables him to perform excellent shots and make high runs. When you first look at the book you feel you already knew, the shots had to be played in the way shown. Unfortunately you realise that if you never had the chance to read this book you would not think about it during the game. Eddie Robin clearly demonstrates his skill not only as a player but also as a great instructor. Probably the most important book for anyone who takes three cushion billiards seriously
