The Arthritis Cure-Revised Edition
Dr. Theo has done it again! Newsweek Magazine was right, "Arthritis treatment will never be the same." And it certainly hasn't been since the 1997 original.

The good doctor was the first to enlighten us to Glucosamine, Chondroitin and SAMe, all evidence-based treatments that work. After much ridicule by 'old school' doctors, and manufacturers of traditional pain killers, Dr. Theo's suggestions are now accepted by most doctors and Arthritis foundations worldwide.

Much is new since 1997 and Dr. Theo includes all of the latest breakthroughs including an entirely new, disease-improving treatment called AVOSOY. It's the first fully vegetarian arthritis product. There is info on this product at
drtheo . com.

Also new is a comprehensive chapter on arthritis prevention, something needed badly since 1 in 3 adults will develop arthritis symptoms, and over 90% will have it on x-ray by age 55. This disease starts 10-20 years before you feel symptoms, so prevention is important.

The books is over 50% new or updated. New supplements, drugs, diet chapter, exercises and a detailed explanation of how those prescription and pain relievers can accelerate cartilage loss, something we should avoid.

Read this book. Thank you Dr. Theo!

A Must Have for all Arthritis Sufferers
If you liked the first book, you will love this one. Dr. Theodosakis has updated many areas of this book to include all the latest info on arthritis supplements. He even discusses which brands to buy to get the best relief. There is even a chapter on common pain relievers that contains little known information that could actually save your life. Many areas of the book have been revised.Probably half of the book is new. I love it! Without the information I have learned from this and other books by Dr. Theodosakis, I would be an ex runner! Thanks!

A Must Read for Arthritis Sufferers
Dr. Theodosakis has made a great book even better. He has included lots of new information on new drugs and even little known facts on common pain medicine that could actually save your life. He has updated information on all of the different brands of the arthritis supplements so that you don't waste you money an time on poor brands that won't work well. If you liked the first edition, you will love this one!

BRIAN HITS IT ON THE NAIL.
A terrific read. Brian really hits it on the nail. As a sales training company owner, and book author myself, who is at a crossroads right now in his life, Brian King's story and advice is one for any 30 something. An extremely perceptive individual, Brian reminds us that our "issues" are everyone's issues. His lessons remind us to not wait until we are confronted with physical crises before we address our emotional crises. Lessons such as helping others - WITHOUT THE GOAL TO BE HELPED BACK - are huge. His "Hara" of the only two things you can control- Who You Are and What You Do is dead on accurate. For anyone who has ever thought they are alone in the world and seeking human fulfillment, this is a must read.

Todd B. Natenberg<

A Book of COMFORT and HOPE
"Everybody Has a Tumor" is an inspiring book about this authors ordeal with testicular cancer and how he overcame it. I recommend this book not only for all cancer patients and their families, but for anyone who has been through anything tragic in their lives. Overcoming tragedies in life is not easy - this book offers COMFORT and HOPE for all who read it! While it teaches anyone suffering from an ailment that they must not allow their minds and their spirit to feel the same way their body does, it also teaches those whove suffered a tragedy in life to move on and not allow that tragedy to break their spirit.

Hope Beyond Our Trials
Brian King's personal story is not only inspirational but offers the most important component of overcoming, and that is hope. Without hope we have nothing. Brian also shares some of his wisdom , based on his personal experiences, to guide us along the way. Take the journey and experience the hope.

Based on research culled from prestigious scientific institutes around the world, Carper reports on what you ought and oughtn't to eat for ailments ranging from heart disease to cancer, strokes to depression and anxiety. It's pleasant to think of health as taking place in your kitchen instead of the doctor's office or hospital.

I learned a lot from reading this book
It's packed with infomation about what to eat or drink and spices/herbs to use that are beneficial to your body. Some of the infomation in the book has are: It lists foods that may help prevent certain symptoms and problems, it lists disease-fighting powers in 60 common foods, it lists foods that are high in calcium, fiber, beta carotene and more. The books also goes on about how to use drugs in foods to stay healthy which I found very helpful since I don't use over-the-counter prescription such as tylenol

An absolute "must" for any home!
I found this book for a friend who was having kidney problems and, intrigued, decided to look into it for myself. I am absolutely thrilled with what I've read, and am changing my entire eating program as a result. Jean Carper provides the reader with scientific facts in layman's terms, and uses a "thumbs up/thumbs down" system to debunk myths and provide further foundation for the true "miracle power" of food. She offers cardiovascular food cures, remedies for digestive troubles, cancer-fighting diets, foods to stave off depression, foods to prevent asthma. . .the list goes on and on. It leaves the reader with the realization that health is something we can *choose*. . .especially when armed with the knowledge Carper has given us.

A wonderful, precise, well-organized, helpful guide.
This book is precisely what the public needs to escape the clutches of the drug industry! The material is well-ordered, well-organized, and gives vital and very helpful information for those seeking advice. I feel this book will do very much to bring the "wholistic" approach out of the realm of "eye of newt, wing of bat" where "normal" people often place natural remedies. Jean Carper, you have given us a big measure of respectability with many and frequent cites to scientific studies which confirm the tremendous values contained in plain old food! Thanks SO MUCH!

In a very wise, old book it is written, " . . . and the leaves of the tree were for the healing of the nations." Revelation 22:2.

The buyer will get many times the purchase price in return from reading and heeding the advice given. My copy is a treasured addition to my library.

Fast-paced and substantive
Strong book! I sat flipping pages, totally transfixed. It's paced well, the characters are believable and the plot pumps the arteries right up. Great adventure, solid dialogue, wonderful twists, some absolutely heart-pounding action sequences. Popke's knowledge of trauma-room hospital settings takes the book to another level, as well. It's credible and unquestioned as you read, that this author knows his stuff. But he's got a command of storytelling, dialogue and human dilemma as well. If you're a fan of the Sacramento area, you'll get a deep taste of local color too, including an absolutely shattering action sequence at the foot of the Yolo Causeway between Davis and Sacramento. Terrific job...can't wait for Popke's next volume!

Suspense to the end.
An ER doctor's life is shattered when his wife is wheeled in on a gurney. Knowing her attacker is a patient nearby, emotions override duty, and the patient takes a sudden turn for the worse. Only later does he learn the attacker is the only link to his missing daughter. The author's believable characters kept me turning pages. A fast read. Highly recommended.

Men of Mystery
I saw Kurt Popke with 44 other Mystery Writers who had one minute
to talk about their book, I found Kurt's minute interesting and I checked his name and went to purchase his book, his book was sold out in 30 minutes. Lethal Cure reminded me of my favorite TV program ER good characters, fast paced, good story. I really got into the characters and wished the book was longer, it was technical and good twists in the story, a good read. Can't wait for the next one. I'm going to recommend it to my book group.

The Allergy and Asthma Cure: A Complete 8-Step Nutritional Program

It really works
I had been getting more and more allergic every year. Last year I developed asthma, and kept up with an intense schedule by using inhalers, a lot! Even though I gave up dairy and wheat, they continued to get worse, finally to the point where I had hives and welts from touching my books (a little microscopic mold, I suppose). That was the last straw and I bought this book and followed it for 3.5 months now. I went from using inhalers 3 times a day to 0. I can hug my cats again, where I would cough when they walked into the room with me before. I had some patches of eczema on the elbows that is gone, and I finally have some get up and go again.

If you feel despair of having your body literally self destruct with allergic reactions, follow this program with ALL of the pertinent supplements (3 handfuls a day for me), and get your health back!

Great book
A great new book from Dr. Pescatore -- it should be required reading for anyone suffering from allergies and/or asthma. His recommendations have helped me with my allergies; my best friend, who has asthma, has found relief, too (after so many years!). Thank you for such an important book.

Finally a sane approach
As a clinical nutritionist, I all too often see chronic suffering and serious secondary problems when patients use a strictly pharmaceutical approach to managing allergies and asthma. As Dr. Pescatore so clearly describes, the smarter approach is to look for and correct the imbalance that caused or is at least aggravating the problem. When the body is in balance, the need for medication is reduced or even eliminated. There is so much practical information and even emotional support in this book that it will be assigned homework for any of my clients who have allergy or asthma.

Review from Pope John Paul II
"In the span of nearly 50 years of priesthood, what is still the most important and most sacred moment for me is the celebration of the Eucharist. My awareness of celebrating in persona Christi at the altar prevails. Never in the course of these years have I failed to celebrate the Most Holy Sacrifice. If this has occurred, it has been due entirely to reasons independent of my will. Holy Mass is the absolute center of my life and of every day of my life. It is at the heart of the theology of the priesthood, a theology I learned not so much from text books as from living examples of holy priests. First and foremost, from the holy Cure of Ars, Jean Marie Vianney. Still today I remember his biography written by Fr. Trochu, which literally overwhelmed me."  (English text of the address given at the International Symposium on the Thirtieth Anniversary of the Promulgation of the Conciliar Decree Presbyterorum Ordinis on Friday, October 27, 1995. Text acquired from L'Osservatore Romano, Weekly English Edition.) Text can also be viewed at the Vatican web site.

Review from the Publisher
The definitive life, based on the official "Process of Beatification and Canonization," and thus totally factual and documented. Of humble education and assigned to a forgotten farmers' village, he attracted the whole world to Ars and was proclaimed "Patron Saint of Parish Priests" in 1929. Ate one meal a day, slept only a few hours a night, heard confessions up to 17 hours a day, converted thousands. His body remains incorrupt. A grace-filled story of total love of God!

An astounding life of a saint
I first read this many years ago and it was a favorite book of mine. The Cure d'ars was such a saintly man-and this book was wonderfully inspiring to read. A treasure.

Diagnosis Unknown: Our Journey to an Unconventional Cure

A Real Page Turner
This book gives an incredible insight into both conventional and alternative medicine. Although the subject is very serivous the author turns it into a humourous mystery novel.

I have recommended this book to over 20 people and without exception they report back that they couldn't put it down. Most people say they read it in one sitting or in 2 to 3 days.

nothing else like it ever written!
I am a medical physician. I have purchased and perused scores of well-written books put out by experienced practitioners for other health professionals. Many of them have proved quite useful. None however has given me the sense of what it is like to be the bewildered patient who has just seen a dozen primary care and specialist physicians for a steadily worsening condition, and now does not know where to turn. This book does. I work in an Emergency Department. I see a number of people there, frequently at odd hours, who arrive searching for answers we are hard-pressed to give them there. I think they come to us because they simply don't know where else to turn. Unlike the nicely worked-out treatment guidelines we learn in medical school, there is no clear protocol for those who "fail" our allopathic therapies. And, this is at a time when so many need so much more than what we are presently trained to offer. Diagnosis Unknown explores the actual experience of what it is like to be young, previously healthy, suddenly ill and steadily declining, and with not even a medical diagnosis (let alone medical therapy) in sight. Imagine having already seen every available medical specialist relevant to your condition, and steadily getting worse. Where would you then turn? Massage? Radionics? Acupuncture? Electrodermal screening? This book takes the reader through all of these, and quite a bit more. It is such a handy experiential guide that I have been recommending it to patients and colleagues alike.

This book reads like a detective novel.
When I started to read this book I had no idea I would be awake at 2:00am unable to put it down. It is written with the sense of suspense that a who-done-it has. I am a health care professional and although I have a great deal of respect for "modern" medicine, I have all too often witnessed patients made worse by our interventions. I so enjoyed the self disclosure that the author brings to his writing. The reader can readily identify with the search and sympathize with Linda in her desperate illness. The book has given me a great reading list and opened my eyes to methods of diagnosis and treatment that I would never have known about. I also appreciate the direct voice that the author uses - very clear - not on a soap box - simply sharing their adventure. It would be easy, considering their experience, to use this book to vent their collective spleens at the medical community. The battles between the AMA, et al. and alternative medicine were reported factualy without added fuel, allowing for the reader to absorb the information and make up his or her own mind. I recommend this book very highly for anyone who desires to take charge of their health and would like to share how a delightful and charming couple managed to take charge of theirs.

the pain cure
I have been a chronic pain patient for 10 years. I cried when I read the opening chapter of this book because someone FINALLY understood how I felt and what I was going through. This book has made a differnece in my life. I now understand the pain process and how my body handles it. I have learned strategies for coping and living a fuller life. This is the third copy of the book I have bought for a friend who needed it as well. Everyone who either suffers from chronic pain or has someone close to them who does, needs to read this book.

Life changing book!
I haven't been properly diagnosed yet, but I have been in severe pain for over 6 months. Only the strongest steroids or heavy narcotics have helped my pain, but the side effects of these medicines made them not an option for me. So, I have been suffering, until I got this book. By following the advice, I am beginning to regain my life, eliminate pain, and am more knowledgable about my body. If you are in pain, get this book!

Great help for my arthritis pain
This book is very well written and informative. By using several of the author's suggestions, I was able to alleviate the chronic neck pain I previously had. I would recommend it to anyone with chronic pain.

Excellent rock book
This is one of the very few books to deal specifically with the actual sub genre of rock known as gothic rock. Like punk, goth has become a blanket term used to describe any band that remotely approaches a certain aesthetic that was once (sort of) original.

Thompson's book sets the record straighter by focusing mainly on the UK and the post punk scene that was the birthing ground for what would become 'gothic' rock. The author covers the separate 'scenes' that grew up in various parts of the country (London, Leeds, etc) and how they differed and developed. When the initial thrill of punk receded, post punk rose up and developed along different lines, spinning off and inspiring genres like goth and even new wave. Much attention is given to The Cure, Southern Death Cult, The Sisters of Mercy, Bauhaus, Siouxsie, etc. A lot of ground is covered, from Joy Division (described as having a 'gothic' sound) through the wranglings between Andrew Eldritch's Sisterhood and the ex members of the Sisters, toward the Fields of the Nephilim, who tried to fill the gap left by the Sisters. Toward the end, the American scene is covered a bit, focusing on 'Death' rock with bands like Christian Death and .45 Grave, for instance.

The book is well researched, well written and not particularly biased. Thomson's style is smooth and well organized. The chapters deal with specific months and years and move around from the status of one band to another. The author also touches on more recents developments since the 1980s, addressing the various artists and bands that have been characterized as 'goth'. But again, the main focus is on progenitors of the genre rather than latter day pretenders to the throne.

There are also some decent pictures, but overall this is an excellent rock book, full of information for even casual fans of the genre or of the particular bands mentioned above. Well indexed, too. Highly recommended!

A "goth rock for dummies"?
No, it's not that type of book and if you are searching something like that better go to some other place. It's a serious exploration of the subject, and some chapters were written in language that reminds me a scientific review. I give it 5 stars for the amount of information it contains, but the style as well as the cover of the book could be a lot better. Also, not a word have been written about the Crow thing which for me is a real loss - for example one of the best Cure gothic tracks "Burn" was off the soundtrack for the first Crow movie. Anyway for one that wants a load of info it is a good place to dig.

History of Gothic Rock
I really liked this book, mainly because the writer didn't get too personally involved in his material but also because he was able to distinguish between the bands and individuals that were gothic rock and those that influenced gothic rock. Like the Damned's Dave Vanian who became a reluctant goth role model by just being himself.

It is also free from todays goth/industrial rock, focusing on the roots of gothic rock.

"It (the book) is an examination of what transpired when one specific tentacle of the post-punk British rock octopus stopped failing around in the wastes above its head, and burrowed instead into its blackest cave, there to contemplate...whatever."

If you are at all interested in gothic rock then this book is well worth the read.

Cure by Crying: How to Cure Your Own, Depression, Nervousness, Headaches, Violent Temper, Insomnia, Marital Problems, Addictions by Uncovering Your Repressed memories

One Of The Best Books Ever Written Obout Therapy/ Psychology
Well, me and my wife have been using this method for about 10 months. We have sessions about twice a week. My wife is on her 94th session. So, does it work? YES!! My wife has seen many symptoms improve. Depression and headaches are the two symptoms that have improved dramatically. Her ability to stand up for herself has also improved dramatically. I should mention that my wife cries easily. She cried within five minutes of the first session. Keep in mind this therapy takes commitment and time, but it is worth it.

On the down side, I have been unable to cry and have given up on this method. I tried following the book for about six months. Could not cry once. What this means is that *some* people's ability to cry is severely damaged, and this therapy will be extremely difficult for people like me. But I hope others (like my wife) will benefit from it.

However, even failure can lead to a cure. I began looking for an alternate therapy to get me kick started. I discovered a new therapy called "Redirecting Self Therapy". Can't provide a link here, but it is bringing many years of suffering to a rapid end.

Also, this book lists all the great discoveries (in psychology) made in the last few decades. It is an excellent primer on regressive therapies in general. If I had to recommned only one book on psychology, this is it.

SENSATIONAL
Excellent way to cure many ills, cry. More men should just do just that. Only some, even now, "hold back a tear". I used to. This alone only holds in the pain and unclear feelings--balderdash on that.
LIVE with the difficult moment, CRY, HEAL. It works for me every day.
As for the author's writing style, I, could say it works well enough. He speaks from the heart while espousing heartfelt emotions. That would make anyone wordy, an honest author included. This the point here, isn't it?
I love this man for his strength and his sharing. Thank you Mr. Thomas A. Stone, sir.

very helpful
If you want to know more about the importance of feeling pain and crying as a means of healing your neuroses, this is a rare book to read. I found valuable practical information on how to help myself and others to cry. In addition to the book by Jean Jenson: Reclaiming yourself, it helped me in my healing process.
