AN UNUSUAL APPROACH
Who could resist buying a book with such a title? I couldn't, and read it with interest. It would probably be fair to say that Hulda Chark would be seen as an eccentric, and certainly a maverick, by the conventional medical profession. Her theories that Aids is caused by parasitic infestation and heavy metal pollution in the body goes against what the experts have been telling everyone for many years. But amongst the many unusual claims Clark makes - for example, that a tincture made from extract of black walnut, to name but one item, can rid one's body of serious viral infections - there may well be a few gems. Her description of the prevalence of benzene and other toxic solvents in one's everyday environment, and their effect upon the thymus, had me scurrying around with large plastic sacks for a day, clearing out (foir example) tins of paint and solvent chemical that I kept UNDER MY FOOD CUPBOARD. Likewise I dumped all my metal pots and pans in favour of glass/ceramic ones, and have started using wooden implements to cook with. There may be some very useful health tips in here, and well worth following. Whether her views will ever be universally accepted howver remains to be seen.

Food for Thought - Course of Action?
It is clearly a highly controversial issue... HIV, AIDS, Parasites, Herbs, and "electroshock" therapy! Dr. Hulda Clark has been dismissed as a charlatan, a con artist, and a quack, but there is a HUGE world wide following of her practices and methods. While I do not have first hand experience with either HIV, or cancer, I did purchase the Cure for All Diseases, the Cure for All Cancers, and the Cure for HIV/AIDS out of both curiosity, and the desire to maintain an open mind and informed opinion of the alternative therapies in question. After reading most of the Cure for All Diseases, I would say that much of Dr. Clark's work is rooted in firm scientific reason and simply explores pathways of healing that no longer seem in "vogue" in a todays highly clinical and "drug-happy" medical society. I cannot recommend that someone suffering from HIV/AIDS quit their medications and immediately jump both feet first into this methodology. I CAN recommend that anyone who recognizes the value of natural healing and alternative medicine to STRONGLY consider SUPPLEMENTING their current course of treatment with the steps outlined in the book. If anything, the basic methods of preventing re-infestations and cleaning your environment will support better immune function.. and, who knows?! Some may experience a decreased or zero count viral load as a result of the combined therapies.. I will all of you reading this the best of both worlds, but please make an informed choice and be open to non-traditional medical doctrines.. Much of what we know of medicine, and many of our most potent "drugs" are developed ot derived from traditional medicines and plants.
Peace.

Revolutionary Read
It has been many years since I read this book, after I read one of Dr. Clark's other books on curing cancer. I had cancer, and used her ideas to complement my chemo. I am cancer-free still, over eight years later. Although I cannot prove that the herbs helped me, I truly don't believe I would be alive today if I had not found Dr. Clark's books. I started a website to tell others about the books, and one of my acquaintences who had been diagnosed with HIV/AIDS told me he was having phenomenal results by following Dr. Clark's suggestions, in addition to other things he was trying at the time. I won't tell you here what herbs Dr. Clark suggests because it is best to read the books and get a "feel" for what she says yourself. That is why she calls it "self-health," because she believes most of us are intelligent enough to try to help ourselves and take responsibility for our health. At the very least, it is a facinating read. My husband built the "zapper" for me with parts that he found at Radio Shack. By the way, my website is called Health-Hut. I cannot post the url in this review, but invite you to visit and read more about this book there, along with the disclaimer. If you are reading this because of a link from our site, thank you for visiting. Your friends at Health Hut.

cure or curse?
On the surface, The Mood Cure looks pretty impressive, but a closer examination reveals many problems.

The mood questionaire at the beginning of the book is too broad and vague, and since a person's general mood can change from day to day depending on external circumstances, this can be difficult to assess. Testing for allergies is also very difficult, as symptoms can vary greatly in variety and degree. People can even have a positive reaction to a benign substance if they believe it is an allergen. In any case, self-testing is not recommended.

Ross is also too critical of carbohydrates and vegetarian diets, and doesn't often make a distinction between whole grains and refined flour. Conversely, she downplays the dangers of a high-fat high-protein diet. Not only that, her comparison of diets today with diets 100 years ago is too broad and scientifically shaky.

Cautions about supplements are mainly relegated to the back of the book, and she advocates taking SAM-e and melatonin, both of which are largely untested regarding long-term effects (melatonin can have many short-term side effects, and sales are banned in Canada, France, and Britain).

Undocumented/unsubstantiated statements include:
28- the study in which a serotonin deficiency is created.
112- "Take a look at the following sample menu. The word that comes to mind is *satisfying!*"
130- Hydrogenated fats are "one step away from a plastic."
134- "Fat really is jolly."
138- "Casein can be as addictive as gluten."
154- "I defy you to find more beautiful and cheery people than the Thai."
On page 45, she actually cites a study in which tryptophan cured depression in birds.

As if that wasn't enough, she even advocates pseudoscientific remedies such as homeopathy and blood type diets. Lack of replication by others, and recent criticism of high-fat and high-protein diets in general does not bode well for this diet. Proceed with caution.

The Mood Cure
Yes, we are in the midst of a mood disorders epidemic and mainstream mental health strategies with a dependence on pharmaceuticals are failing to contain the symptons much less cure the disorders. The Mood Cure, a logical and brilliant follow up to Julia Ross's innovative clinical work in The Diet Cure, may finally break through the denial, marginalization, and suppression of the role nutrition must play for effective mental health treatment.

This book is based on a four step program that has been developed and refined in a clinical setting for over fifteen years. These proven clinical results are very impressive because of the depth and breath of challenging populations that have been successfully treated. These include alcohol/drug/sugar addiction, depression, anxiety, obsessive compulsive disorder, traumatic stress syndromes, sleep disorders, eating disorders, and attention deficit disorders.

Is there a correlation between the exponential growth in mood disorders and the systematic devitalization of our food? As more people consume food products as opposed to food Ms. Ross demonstrates that what clients and clinicians are struggling with in more cases than not is an epidemic of morbid malnutrition with mood and cognitive deficits as symptoms. The brain may well be the most malnourished organ in the body for the majority of us.

The brain, like most organs, needs certain nutrients in order to function effectively. Symptoms of deprivation manifest as mood and cognitive problems. Also, the brain like other organs, possesses an amazing capacity to repair and regenerate itself if fed the needed food. The first chapter expertly outlines true or false emotions based on the clearest explanation I have ever read of the neurotransmitters serotonin, catecholamines, GABA and the endorphins and the specific foods i.e. amino acids that each system needs. Excellently designed diagnostic questionnaires enable the reader to pinpoint neurotransmitter deficiencies while being educated, empowered and inspired to remedy the problem.

The chapters that follow continue to build a clear and coherent treatment approach complete with tool kits, specific protocols, diagnostic questionaires, references and research. One of my favorite chapters is the resource tool kit as I can readily access excellent therapeutic support and information. This book is an ongoing revelation because it has been meticulously crafted to work on many levels simultaneously. Another major strength of The Mood Cure is that it serves both client and clinician in appealing to the reader's intelligence, sense of responsibility for their own health and dignity as a human being.

Using The Mood Cure as an integral part of the treatment process has been extremely effective in my own clinical practice specializing in addiction and trauma recovery. Many clients no longer need medication while those who continue medication have been able to reduce their dosages dramatically. One client who suffered from severe mood swings declared how relieved she was to have found what she called a "user's manual" for her brain! This book is not however anti medication but rather challenges the current knee jerk response to automatically refer and medicate without first investigating nutritional and other organic problems that may be contributing to a diagnosis. Compelling examples that Ms. Ross discusses are the hidden epidemic of thyroid problems and adrenal exhaustion that sabotage treatment. A lesser known condition called Pyroluria, mostly found in alcoholics, uses up zinc, vitamin B6 and manganese and can be the confounding factor in treating stubborn mood problems.

This book is highly recommended as an invaluable resource for both client and clinician alike.

The Mood Cure
This is a wonderful book! I highly recommend it along with "The Omega-3 Connection" by Dr. Andrew Stoll.
I have been through 3 severe clinical depressions in my life.I did the round of doctors, counselors and psychiatrists. I've been put on different types of medications until the doctors figured out which ones would help me. This, in my opinion, is sort of being like a guinea pig. They truly don't know you and your chemistry.
I've been fortunate enough to have never been hospitalized, but believe me, there were times I wish they would just lock me away or that God would end my suffering.
This book has a wealth of information on how our brain and body chemistry works.
I've been on this program for three weeks now and I'm off my antidepresant and anti-anxiety medication and feel great! I know I've finally found the right road to recovery!

A Cure for Dreams is a Nightmare!
I gave this book 1 star because zero was not an option. I read a lot and this is the worse book I've read in a long time. I would have put it down without finishing, but the book was short and I kept thinking it would redeem itself. Please, do NOT waste your time on 'Dreams' when there are so many really good books out there.

A great short little read
This book goes quick, but you will enjoy every minute of it. It is the story of two women, a mother and daughter. They are strong women. Every character you would love to meet in real life. A very up beat novel, unlike some of Kaye Gibbon's other books.

A wonderful book about women
This was the second book I read of Kaye Gibbons and I enjoyed it very much. Ms. Gibbons has quite a grip on the Southern experience and depicts it well in this story. She also has a special gift for weaving the experiences of several generations reminding us we are created from many people's pasts and we are the foundation for many people's future.

A HEROIC AND MOVING STORY!
This is an awesome book, harrowing, but at the same time often funny -- hilariously funny, in fact, for Mike Feder is a master storyteller and, as this book demonstrates, a brilliant writer too. His material, the subject of his riveting monologues on stage and on the radio, is the story of his exhausting life - the nightmare childhood, the mental hospital incarcerations, the jobs that stand out as cameos of relief, the failed marriages, a brief, dizzying flirtation with fame - and, ultimately, his surviving the crash back to reality. The key to his miseries was his psychotic mother who, early on, is destroyed by a psychiatric system that doesn't really know what to do with the unhappy creatures dumped on it. Shock treatments seemed a shortcut back to normalcy, so they burned out her brain. Mike could never escape the little boy who grew up with that crazy woman, obsessively talking about it, not only to numerous psychiatrists but, especially, on his weekly radio program on WBAI-FM, when he pours his heart out to his listening audience, many of them, like me, who also had a history of mental problems and long years of psychotherapy. That is his true "talking cure." The climax of the book is his brief, fantastic success as a stage performer when the New York Times gave him a rave review for his one-man show, bringing Hollywood offers, and dreams of wealth and glory - all of which came to nothing and brought on his worst bout of depression -- that he only came out of when he met a truly nurturing woman at last. With no obvious marketable talent except his gift for talk, and living in a world where you are expected to be a winner, or at least support your children -- all the parents of his childrens' friends were moneyed professionals -- he has never sold out, kept true to himself, and chosen his own difficult path. It is that that his listeners love him for. And it illuminates every page of this book.

Tripping the Life Fantastic!
"Talking Cure" swept me in to Feder's "Alice's Adventures in Wonderland" and the ride was fascinating! After the initial gut wrenching chapters introducing his family and their view of the world, Feder enthralled me with his tales of the innards of alternative radio and the fawning over people in Hollywood and television land. The book reads like a novel with a the characters unfolding at a rapid rate. Sometimes there is a slight disconnect or unevenness between chapters; I want to know more but am moved forward to another place by the author. I liked the presentation, the often black humor and the candid tone especially about how difficult it can be to find competent psychological help. For those who feel any shame or privacy about their families or their own innermost thoughts and feelings, Feder provides a path through the looking glass that many can follow. I am sure that the basic argument of talking in therapy and/or drugs in therapy will continue to be debated as a result of this book. I recommend it highly!

A wonderful, ferociously entertaining read
I'm not usually a fan of memoirs, but I read this in two sittings. Feder's compulsive honesty is fascinating. He doesn't spare anyone, least of all himself, as he tells the story of his failures as a husband (twice), father, and Hollywood schmoozer, and his success at one thing: talking. (Note to Mr. Feder: you are also an excellent writer.) Anyone who has worried that their dark side is too frightening to share with others will relate to this wonderful book. Also, those with bipolar disorder will find much to identify with. I was truly sorry when the book ended! I wanted more!

bait & switch
Lucinda has a radio add that offers a free tape. I called for the free tape, & was subjected to the most high pressure sales attempt I've experienced in quite some time. They practically insisted I go ahead & order the whole program under a "money back if unsatisfied in 30 days" attempt. I told them 3 times & quite clearly NO! They hung up on me...

To my way of thinking, the majority of her callers are already depressed and/or anxious, and to treat them this way is unethical. What if I was suicidal (I'm not)? This could have been the final straw. When you market to depressed people, this needs to be considered.

Based on this, I'll never read another one of her books. This one was a complete waste of my hard earned $$, & I'll not buy, read, or recomend any of her products.

Not bad...but nothing to set it above the pack...
I was impressed with this books approach to working through anxiety or panic attacks. But, I didn't find anything of noteworty exception to distinguish it from other books dealing with this subject.

It is also a fairly 'quick' read....which, for anyone dealing with this type of issue, really should spend a little more time on. I felt like it was best served as an 'airport read; it's style just didn't lend itself to the thorough examination one struggling with panic attacks should invest in.

Again, well-written and easy to understand...but I don't see this as a 'life-altering' read for anyone dealing with these issues.

A Successful Approach
The value of this book is that it teaches a successful approach to alleviating the symptoms of panic attacks and anxiety. First, through his story, and the stories of others, Mr. Handy gave me the feeling that "I'm not alone" in having to deal with these problems, and that it is possible to get on the road to recovery. He suggests a real plan on dealing with the problems of panic and anxiety, which I have found really works. I strongly recommend this book for anyone suffering from these problems.

A Cure All You Must Have
4 months ago I started having severe stomach trouble. Cramping pains, nausea, diarrhea, constipation and intense girgling. I was also hungry all the time with whatever this thing was. I've been to a gastroenterologist and they have run tests and can't seem to find anything. They also think it could be a parasite but are not sure. Now they have said it's probably irritable bowel syndrom since they can't find any other answer for it.

The medications they've prescribed me have some bad side effects and aren't helping at all. I began looking on the internet and found this book recommended by other sufferers of IBS. They all had immediate results from Oregano Oil.

I bought this book and the oil. The first morning I used it I put four drops under my tongue. Within 30 minutes I was completely pain free as well as all the other symptons miraculously disappeared. I'm only on my third day but have felt absolutely great. I'm so thankful that I stumbled upon this book. It has changed my life in so many ways. I will never be without it again. The oil is not cheap but you can't put a price on good health.

One quick note: My husband doesn't believe in any natural stuff at all. Well....he's been suffering with a terrible headache the last three days and started vomiting from it last night it was so bad. Finally, this morning I convinced him to let me put a couple of drops on his forehead and rub it in. Within minutes his headache was gone and he wanted to go shopping. I urge everyone to buy this book. You'll wonder how you've made it this far without it. Good luck to all.

Wild Oregano Works - My Sinus Problems Are Receding
I bought the Oreganol (Oil of Oregano in a bottle with medicine dropper). It has cleared up my sinus problems (not all the way - yet - but I have suffered for 25 years). I can now breathe through my nose. I changed my voicemail at work; my voice is now clear (no more obnoxious sinus drip and foggy voice). A lot of sinus infections are caused by fungi - not bacteria (according to Dr. Ingram). That's why antibiotics are useless. In fact, penicillin and derivatives will feed fungi growth.

If you are a chronic sinus sufferer (or suffer from asthma or bronchitis), read the book and buy the products. You will regain your health and have energy.

Oregano is Hyssop in the Bible... No germ grows in Hyssop!
Finally, a cure for the Flu, Sinusitis, and Common Cold.
I caught a radio program featuring Cass Ingram two years go by chance. The first words I heard him utter, "Oregano is Hyssop in the Bible, no germ will grow in Hyssop." It was like a lightning bolt. Since then, my entire family, and all of my friends, and a few close coworkers use oil, juice, and ground oregano.

If skeptical just take a look at your local supermarket spice shelf. I noticed in all of my local supermarkets the Mediterranean Oregano is 3-4 times more expensive than the ordinary Oregano. Why?

I started off with the supermarket Mediterranean Oregano, just in my cooking. What a difference! No more popping joints, sinusitis, or asthma symptoms.

I wonder if it works on ALL viruses?

Arthritis Cure
Published in Paperback by St. Martin's Press (December, 2000)
Author: Theodosakis
Amazon base price: $
Used price: $3.30
The word "cure" in the title is a bit misleading, but this book certainly makes a persuasive argument in favor of treating osteoarthritis with two common nutritional supplements--glucosamine and chondroitin sulfates--and following a program emphasizing better nutrition and exercise. The supplements are commonly used in Europe and Asia, where they've been tested in double-blind, placebo-controlled studies (the gold standard for medical research). They haven't been thoroughly tested in the United States, the authors contend, because drug companies can't patent the supplements and thus won't fund the research. The book also contains a chapter detailing a seven-step arthritis-prevention program.
Average review score:

Worthwhile and perhaps more
This was followed by Maximizing the Arthritis Cure (1998) which I'll also report on here, treating both books as one. My initial reaction was, this is either a public service or a hustle. Written by three different laureled academics and obviously put together by committee, this first book was a big time best seller and demanded a sequel. Most of the diet advice was like something I had read twenty years ago. The exercise program ditto. The use of glucosamine and chondroitin was the real difference. In fact, the purpose of the book could be seen as legitimizing the use of these supplements in the treatment of osteoarthritis. People bought the book in the hope that it would help them with their pain. They also bought the book so that they would be motivated to try glucosamine and chondroitin. Many people understandably would not try the supplements without the seal of approval provided by an authoritative book like this. The question is-and it is the big question-is their program any good, or is it just another feel good pep talk fronting for another bogus approach? I was a little uncertain since the book jacket was red, white and blue, and we all know the quote about patriotism being "the last refuge of a scoundrel."

So I tried glucosamine and chondroitin and stayed fairly close to their overall program. Two years have passed and although I cannot say for certain, it is my belief that the supplements are valuable. At any rate, my arthritic knee is much improved.

In the follow-up book, the authors give information on other treatments.

I have to say that I think they've done a positive service in writing these two books. The information about healing in general and about prevention and about the positive effects of exercise and attitude are worthwhile. The authors may have made megabucks (or maybe they didn't), but I don't feel they ripped anybody off, on the contrary. I am happy to be positive even though I still think "cure" is probably too strong a word for what their program can do, although I only have my own experience to go on. Their reports of the double blind tests that have been conducted are good, but a long way from convincing proof that glucosamine and chrondoitin and exercises can cure osteoarthritis.

Title is hype but not bad overall.
Bringing forth information on the benefits of glucosamine sulfate and chondroitin sulfate and the negative aspects of NSAIDs is probably the greatest strength of this book. The use of the word "cure" in the title is irresponsible, however, and an obvious ploy by either the authors or the publisher to pump up sales. It's a shame since it's actually one of the better books on dealing with osteoarthritis. The authors are rather vague about "improving biomechanics" and in their mentioning of professionals who can improve biomechanics, they totally neglect physical therapists, the professionals who have some of the best training in biomechanics. They recommend "osteopathic manual therapists" which actually don't exist. There are osteopaths who perform manipulative therapy and there are orthopaedic manual therapists who are physical therapists with specialty training but no such thing as "osteopathic manual therapists". Neuromuscular therapists have such minimal formal academic training that to include them in this category constitutes professional irresponsibility. It's also interesting that a more natural "cure" is proposed for arthritis but the treatment for depression is still the same old ineffectual regimen. It's interesting that one of the authors has written about DLPA but nothing about a more natural biochemical or holistic approach to depression is included such as has been written about by James Gordon, MD. Contrary to the author's opinion, about 5% of the rheumatoid arthritis population responds very positively to a night shade free diet. Also, contrary to his discussion of "fad diets", there is compelling research for the use of therapeutic fasting followed by implementation of a healthy vegetarian diet. Some of this research has been done at Karolinska Institute, THE finest research institution in the world in the area of physiology. The exercise portion of the book is also surprisingly deficient and does not focus adequately on the many crucial aspects of movement quality nor even on non-traditional forms of exercise such as Tai Chi (which has been found by research to have combined physiological and psychological benefits exceeding those of most, if not all other forms of exercise, especially for an elderly, sedentary, or selectively handicapped population). He also doesn't focus on the advantages and disadvantages of the various forms of glucosamine and chondroitin (i.e. sodium content, absorption rates, etc.) nor on "cycling" your intake nor on cheaper alternatives. It's also interesting that the forward is written by a surgeon who has only been using these substances for 2 years - where's he been!! There are numerous other minor flaws and irritations in this book but overall, the book is a good starting place for someone with osteoarthritis (especially the average uninformed layperson) and a better book than most of the others out there on the same subject. However, it is lacking in the thoroughness, detail, and precision to become a truly valuable classic on the subject. It'll succeed in the way its publisher intended, however, by generating large sales. It's also prompted me to start writing my own book on the subject focusing on the deficiencies of this one. bgmpt@up.net

The Arthritis Cure : The Medical Miracle
I injured my knee around Labor Day and four months later I had minimal results with physical therapy and NSAIDs. My once active life had stopped, every activity I tried, even walking, aggravated my knee. I started on the Glucosomine and Chondrodin Sulphate program along with the vitamin supplements outlined in the book and had great results. After just a few weeks, I am able to hike and workout again. I feel better than I have in months! I know several friends on Glucosomine, but I felt better with the book outlining the dosage and other vitamins to compliment. I have not needed any NSAIDs since I started this therapy. I like that this program has almost no side effects and can help my injury without surgery. Try it for yourself, what do you have to lose but the pain?

Help can be found if you really want it.
I have been suffering from depression and anxiety for many years and am on medication. This book has helped me understand some of the aspects of what triggers anxiety and the choice I can make to control my responses. A person of faith will highly regard this book. The applications can be useful for every day stress that causes anxiety and mild depresseion that everyone is subject to.

This Book Really Works!
When I was told to purchase this book, I thought 'Happiness is a Choice' ... yeah right, like I CHOOSE to be depressed, I don't think soooo! I didn't think the book would be worth while at all. In fact, I thought it might try to brainwash or something. But that is not how it works. It gives you insight into depression. It gave me so much to think about. It gave me CONTROL over my depression for the first time. It didn't happen overnight, in fact it didn't happen until about a month after I finished reading the book. But the concepts put forth in this book were so profound, that I was able to say NO to depression for the first time, and after many many years of therapy and medication.

Break Free of Depression
I was embarrassed and ashamed of my lonely, helplessness, and saddness. This book provided not only spiritual but medical answers to questions that I was not will to ask. I did however throw it across the room when I realized that I was truly depressed. God can cure each and every scar that is hidden deep within you, this book was the beginning of my journey back to joy. I am always buying another copy to give to a friend who is afraid to admit to depression. God has the key to the chains that bind you...order and walk forward into joy.

Leary manages to be harsh and hilarious about foibles and situations, stupidity and hypocrisy. No Cure for Cancer is the written version of a series of monologues he wrote while in the United Kingdom. Perhaps the most memorable aspects of the book are the speculation about a story drawn from a supermarket checkout newspaper about a man who lost his penis in an industrial accident; Leary's childhood experience of being shot in the head by his brother with an arrow; and his rants about drugs, the psychoses of New York, and the kind of childhood no one would willingly claim is normal for America, but probably (and frighteningly) is!
Average review score:

Very crude
One gets the feeling that this book was published slightly too late to be the rambunctious hit the author wanted. Offensive humour was becoming rather passe, and so those such as Leary were obliged to be even more offensive in order to be noticed.

Satire? I don't think so.

This book had me in tears I was laughing so hard.
This is without a doubt one of the funniest books I have ever read. It is Denis Leary's stand-up routine put into book form. I used to commute from New Jersey into Manhattan and you should have seen the stares I was getting from fellow commuters because I was laughing out loud while I was reading it. Leary's cynical view on drugs, drinking, rock and roll bands and life in general is a roller coaster ride of laughs. Buy this book and you will laugh loud and often.

Even more than the special and CD
This book is pretty much the script from the stand-up special for Leary's 1992 No Cure For Cancer show. It has more though, it doesn't have as many curses and goves even more in depth to Leary's ideals about drugs and all that stuff we know and love. It's as and possibly even more brilliant as the special, as Leary makes even more keen observations. For instance, the reason Irish people drink so much? The Irish music is always sad. Great.

Flies in the face of reason
Roger Mason's little pamphlet has some serious flaws in it. He proclaims that the way to beat prostate cancer is to eliminate meat and dairy in favor of whole grains and vegetables. His authority for this is that a grain based diet is what mankind has been consuming throughout recorded history.

This is falacious reasoning at best. Archaeologists can tell him that they can determine the eating habits from ancient skeletal remains by examination of the teeth. Healthy, undecayed teeth are indicative of someone whose diet was primarily meat; while teeth that demonstrate considerable deterioration proves that their diet was primarily grains. Why is it that grains do that and meat doesn't?! In addition, they might also reveal that the natural mode of human biology is for a mother to nurse for up to three years and remain infertile throughout that time; while a grain based diet interferes with the natural biological cycle and returns a woman to fertility in as little as three months despite nursing an extant child. Mason should also explain why humans have incisors...

The Atkins diet plan is juxtaposed to Mason's views. It emphasizes the more natural diet of meat and de-emphasizes grains and starches as the heaviest carbohydrates. The results are startling - reduced weight and cholesterol despite eating MORE red meat! Carbs get stored in fat cells when there is an overabunbance. That leads to disease. The human body can't store extra protein. It's the extra carbs that cause an oversupply of estrogen in men, not the consumption of protein as Mason contends.

Mason just doesn't know what he's talking about.

Informative and Helpfull
I purchased this book for my husband because his doctor indicated that we should become more aware of his prostate health. I have to admit that I read the book first because this topic was very touchy and one that he did not want to discuss.
Roger Mason has taken the time to explain things on a person to person basis while providing valuable information to our family about maintaining proper levels of hormones and what supplements my husband can take to prevent problems with his prostate. I feel better knowing that even if our situation had been more advanced that the information provided by the book would have helped us as well.My husband and I plan on giving this book to our sons so they can become more informed and take control of their prostate health. I was so impressed with this book I purchased his book for women. Thanks Roger Mason for your great work!

Roger Mason's Natural Prostate Cure - A Courageous Stance
Roger Mason's book "A Natural Prostate Cure" is a thoroughly researched, well documented, hugely informative and completely logical work that every man should have to help them deal with and survive Prostate problems. I have been following Roger Mason's advice and have found considerable relief from my own personal Prostate problems so I know first hand the benefits. But why do I call this book "A Courageous Stance" Well because he has the courage to give it to you straight! He has the courage to skewer the Medical Establishment and the "Nutritional Charlatans and Dunderheads" and fly right in the face of their foolishness, pompous nonsense, and howls of protest! Buy it and Read it! Who knows? You might learn something! You might save yourself some anxiety about your own Prostate conditions! You just might save your own life!
