the first mass market aids book ive seen...This is a peculiar medical thriller with the usual twists, surprises, sex, violence, and the most bizarre road trip you're likely take inside the cover of a book. But most interesting is that the book uses the AIDS epidemic as the vehicle for a thriller. It's one of the first (if not the first) to put the disease into the "normal" part of life . . . including fiction. The ending flipped me out because it's not much like most thrillers.

Herbs made simple!!!Dr. McCann has a way of making a difficult subject simple. I kept a copy of this book in my waiting room and not only could my patients not put it down, they all wanted to take it home with them. If you are looking for a simple, yet concise, understanding of the power of herbs this is the book for you.

great shortened version of an old classicThis is one of the funniest stories about Mrs. Piggle-Wiggle. What is a parent to do when your child does not want to take a bath? Why let them stay dirty-so dirty in fact that one can plant seeds on them. Mrs. Piggle-Wiggle tells the frusterated parents to plant radish seeds on their dirt-encrusted daughter. Magically the seeds grow over-night to the astonishment of the little girl. After submitting to a bath she enjoys the radishes that she grew. A hilarious take on the old You-Can't-Make-Me rountine.

Presents the history of alternative medicine in AmericaNature Cures presents the history of alternative medicine in America, showing that the recent rise of alternative medicine actually reflects two centuries of competition between mainstream medicine and unorthodox systems. In providing a running history of alternative medicine, author James Whorton enables readers to analyze the progress, successes and failures of both traditional and alternative treatments.

Nice first effort in the medical thriller genre! The author shows detailed knowledge of the developement of experimental drugs, showing the potential darkside of this industry, if infiltrated by an extremist. Would a pharmaceutical company even admit to an internal problem? This first book by the author has a haunting ending. I look forward to her next effort!!

Absolutely the bestI first read this books nine years ago, and have read it countless times since then. I have read over 100 romance book and this is the absolute best. No other characters can even begin to share the kind of chemistry that Stacy and Cord have together. I will always love this book and Stacy and Cord will always have a place in my heart.

Opium is one of the most important books I have read.Cocteau is a genius. In Opium, Diary of a Cure, he recounts the experience of his recovery from opium addiction in 1929. He gives an account that sometimes touches on his moment to moment experiences of drug withdrawal, sometimes remarks on his current thoughts about other people and things in his world. Since he lived in the world of avante-garde French culture, his comments include Picasso or Satie. His descriptions and criticisms include references to his own works or to the climate of the period and offer a stunning look at his own thoughts in this extraordinary moment.
