Whenever residents and fellows would ask me which single hand surgery book to buy, I always told them to get Beasley's Hand Injuries even though it was published in 1981. Now, after more than two decades, Beasley has not only updated Hand Injuries, but also has written the most comprehensive single author volume currently available. It was well worth the wait.
Besides trauma, Beasley has added useful knowledge on the diagnosis and treatment of other hand disorders. The book is a jewel box with many chapters being gems. The new chapter on tendon transfers clarifies, simplifies, and elegantly presents what is all too often a murky or boring subject for students of surgery. The chapter on surgical anatomy and color plates by Leon Dorn are worth the price of the book by themselves. Each chapter stands by itself so one can browse through the book picking and choosing that topic that the reader wishes to study.
In this era of homogenized multi-authored multi-volume surgical tomes it is refreshing to read this single authored text that gives the reader the benefit of Beasley's sound philosophy of treating hand patients as well as the wisdom that he has accumulated from his more than 40 years of teaching and clinical experience.

This has proved to be a very useful book. It includes recipes and remedies of various cultures, some of them a thousand years old or more.

The book is divided to sections according to various health problems, such as aging spots, athlete's foot, colds, wrinkles and warts. The remedies listed after each condition are accompanied with a small logo which indicates the kind of remedy it describes, herbal, water-based etc. This is a feature that makes reading much easier.

As far as the remedies are concerned, I've found them extremely useful. They are easy to prepare, just by opening your kitchen cabinets. Humble ingredients such as dandelions, fennel seeds, cider vinegar and yogurt, among many others, can help you improve your health following the recipes in this book. Moreover, each remedy is accompanied with a small bit of lore. This book also includes the "Four Thieves' Vinegar", a secret recipe that dates back to the age of the Black Death, a true diamond.

This book is a treasure chest, filled with little secrets to heal and improve one's body and spirit alike.

The Anxiety Cure for Kids is an important resource for any parent or mental health professional in dealing with an anxious child. The suggested strategies for handling the "dragon" are very helpful and are easily understood. This book is user friendly.

Very informative book. Covers everything from explaining Arthritis, how it develops, how to recognize the signs and various step to help your pet. I learned so much from this book. It explains how exercise and diet can greatly help your pet and what to look for in commercial pet foods. The book also explores the supplements that can promote healthy joints and what pain medicine is available for your pet. Everything in the book is relatively easy and inexpensive and will give your pet a better quality of life.

It is a great book for children. Mine loved it!

I have found this booklet to be encouraging and informative. Simple explanations and clear presentation of medical information supported by Biblical insights. Worth the read amongst the many books out there seeking to bring hope to those battling cancer. God does heal - find out some of the natural foods and lifestyle changes that the Bible recommends as part of His plan for us to have healthy lives. Enjoy the encouraging scriptures also presented that speak of the Lord's healing power and compassion for those who love Him.

For many years I suffered the agonizing pain that accompanies IBS. Little did I know that the answers to all my problems could be found within the "Good Book" that had been on my bookshelf since I was a child. Although I had read the Bible from cover to cover, it wasn't until I picked up Dr. Colbert's miriculous journal that I realized Jesus wasn't too busy healing cripples and raising from the dead to concern himself with curing explosive diarrhea as well. Taken directly from the pages of the four gospels, as well as the newly discovered Gospel According to Bucky, this book is a must have for anyone who has ever crapped their pants before making it to the John.

Bugly Bear's Hiccup Cure was a wonderful book that I had as a child. It is very funny as well. I hate to see it going out of print. Please encourage the publisher to reprint it. I lost my copy and never got it back. HELP!

"CANCER, Cause, Cure and Cover-up" is a bold account of how and why we are led to believe in the mystery of this disease. With copious background on mechanisms and references, the author has, in my opinion, succeeded in explaining this mystery. If one has read Dr. Becker's landmark work particularly the "Body Electric" and studied, even a little about parasitic and fungal diseases this book will provide you with the whole story behind the cancer industry.

The book is a superb account for the layperson in understanding genetics, though just a tad long. This alone is worth the price of the book. Once understood one can see how absurd the current theories on genetic causes of cancer are. For example: Why aren't people born with cancer like the genetic Down's syndrome or why can identical twins get different diseases?

In addition to a short review of various cancer remedies that are and were too cheap to be profitable, a very good case is made why the trusting public is constantly misled from the true causes. These industrial crimes are so massive that people just can't comprehend them hence not believe what is going on. A real education and a must read!
