this is a very informative book that compares and contrasts these "political groups" definately explores the darker side of out human nature. but this book mostly covers things like the nazi party in america and how it spread in the 1930's and how the kkk rose up out of the south. also covers the american communist movement in the early century. a must read

This is the greatest resource for runners that I have ever encountered. It provides information on everything from nutrition to training schedules, injury prevention to local running clubs, stretching suggestions to cross-training hints... you get the idea! It addresses the needs of beginning runners to experienced marathoners, and everyone in between. Highly recommended!

"New York, New York!" starts with a journal entry by Claudia Kishi about her plans to take an art class in New York City during her two-week school vacation. One thing leads to another, and the entire BSC is on their way to New York for two weeks. What I liked most about "New York, New York!" (and every other Super Special) is the change in character point of view with each chapter. Although this is primarily Claudia's book (she compiled everybody's diary entries and letters and then included some illustrations--which were drawn by Ann M. Martin's father, Henry R. Martin), everybody in the BSC had a chance to share their fun and excitement in New York. This is definitely a must-read for BSC fans, especially those who love the Big Apple.

The book is reasonably comprehensive. The authors have included the dalmation's history, a detail analysis and drawings of judging criteria, and a wonderful section on the animal's nature and traits. Whether you would like to have a friend just to run with, or to own a show dog, this book with it's plentiful color photographs and illustrations is a "must"!

This book is worth every penny--and much more! The authors have put together an excellent reference on every topic pertaining to Dalmatians: important kennels and breeders organized by era; health peculiarities of the Dalmatian; showing (including tracking, road trials, obedience, agility and conformation); the history of the Dalmatian Club of America; how to choose a puppy (and whether a Dalmatian is right for you)--and all beautifully and lavishly illustrated with color photographs. This is a definitive guide to the breed.

Some ancient scrolls are proving that some vikings lived in the Kinetic City 500 years before Colombus discovered America. But some citizens including J. We received this book as a gift and it instantly became my children's favorite. My boys (ages 2 and 4) include it in the group of books we read every night. There was a big upset in the houses when it went missing for two days. I have purchased several copies which I give as my staple gift at birthday parties. The rhyming text is simple enough for very young kids to follow and clever enough to appeal to older children. The illustrations are unusually engaging and original and still make my kids giggle. It is also one of a few books that does not become tedious to read over and over. Instead, my kids now know much of it by heart and my 4 year old will "read" it to my 2 year old.

A rare find.

I work in a busy public library which has a particularly well-used children's section. We purchase a large number of titles, both new and old, and are very pleased to be able to count 'Pet Wash' as a very welcome new adition.
The narrative is well-paced and happily becomes resolved in a way that complements the idea of the story. I am particularly impressed with Tor Freeman's illustrations. There is great characterisation (shown in both the children, and their pets), which add life and humour to all of the book's inhabitants. I would recommend this book to other libraries and parents of children who will also get a chuckle from it. A fun read!

This book and all others in her collection are the greatest series for horse lovers. And the books cover far more than just horses and riding. They cover the long span between horse, rider, friendship, helpfulness, and knowledge. This book is for anyone who just wants to learn something new in each book.

I loved this book. When The Saddle club go to the race track, Lisa finds it a great opportunity to practice being a photographer, until a picture she took could solve a mystery! Will The Saddle club get caught before they could tell anyone, or will they solve another mystery at the race track.

I like The Poison Arrow Tree because it is very meaningful. It takes a lot of praying to heal someone who has been very sick. Because I am a Christian now I know how meaningful it is to pray. There is plenty of action and excitement. My favorite character in this book is Dean, the guy who is telling the story.

This book was great!! I read it to my kids and they wouldn't let me put it down. I had to keep on reading chapter after chapter! This a great kids book with some very good lessons that all kids should learn. I highly recomend this book and all the others by Shel Arensen.
