The Lord of the Rings 2001-2002 Student Planner
Great Item. Absolutely love it. Great pictures. Bought mainly as a collector's item to keep. Its just wonderful for that or if you intend to actually write in it. Would recommend to anyone.

Class is more than a schedule
It has been many years since I was a student so I purchased this for the photographs, which are quite outstanding. At first glance the photos are striking for their beauty but on closer examination they reveal the intricate detailing of the costumes. Only negative is too many pages of orcs and such creatures, which although they are magnificently created, they are not particularly pleasant to look at for very long. I feel any LOTR fan would enjoy owning this item.

Great Preview!
This is a great addition to your Tolkien library because it contains some wonderful stills from the soon to be released movie. It is a relief to this Tolkien fan to see that the film's makers have been so careful to get just the right "feel" for the landscapes and the characters. Probably because its aimed at middle and high school students, there is a bit of an imbalance in that so many of the pictures are of terrifying orcs, balrogs, and wraiths, but even they seem true to Tolkien's vision.

The Two Towers 2004 Datebook
This book is great for a few reasons: I love the websites section, which helps you keep track of favorite websites and your usernames/password. Also I can't get over how stunning these pictures are: It starts of with January - Legolas, February - Saruman the white and his little puppet wormtongue, March - Gilimi, April - Theoden, May - One of the many Uruk-Hai June - Aragorn, July - Faramir, August - Gollum, September - Treebeard with Merry and Pippin, October - Arwen, November - Frodo and Gollum, December - Gandalf (as Gandalf the white), The address/phone book section has one picture on each side the front flap is a picture of Eomar and the back flap is of Eowen, Occasions on the front flap has Sam, and on the back has Saruman the white, The websites flap has on the front Frodo with the Ringwraith on a winged creature and on the back has Gollum. I know we are into a couple months of 2004, but with it's stunning photos this would be a great collectors item, if I didn't buy December of 2003 I would still buy it today for the photo's and to use the rest of the year. If you are a long time collector of lord of the rings, or just starting out, this would be a great item any time of the year.

A great date book
This date book is great for several reasons, first I love the pictures January - Legolas, February Suruman the White - and Wormtongue, March - Gilimi, April - Theoden, May - one of the Uri-ki, June - Aragorn, July - Farmier, August - Gullom, September - Treebeard with Merry and Pippin, October - Arwen, November - Gollum and Frodo, December - Gandalf (as Gandalf the white), The addres/phone section has Eomar on the front of it and Eowen on the back of the flap, The Occasions section has Sam on the front and Suruman on the back, the websites section has frodo standing infront of the ring wraith on wings and the back has another picture of Gollum. I also love the websites section where you can keep track of websites and your passwords/usernames. The phone book section is nice as well. I know it's a few months into 2004 however even if you wait this would be a great collectors item mostly because of the stunning pictures, I buy this no matter the time of the year.

Lord of the Rings: Two Towers Datebook 2004
I looked everywhere for a calendar that matched certain desktop needs and had great pictures from the movies. This one is great! It has each complete month, plus extra pages with each date so you can write in whatever you might need to remember or know for those dates. I order this from wordsmith222@yahoo.com thru Amazon. He send an email as soon as it was shipped, a nice note in the box, and it came very quickly. It's a great buy!

Great journal, too cute to use
This is a really cute journal, its red lathered hard cover makes it look really ellegant, that's why I liked it. Besides the pages are decorated with a map of middle earth. It's so great that you won't even want to use it unless you buy two, one for collecting and one for writing. I still have it intact!

Very Nice Journal!
Very Nice Journal. It is red leather bound with a little elastic strap on the back that wraps around to keep it closed. When you open it the first page you see has a semi-transparent picture of the map of Middle Earth. The next page has the following written on it: "The Lord of the Rings: The Fellowship of the Ring" then "there and back again... A Journal" The pages have nice lines and a faint map of Middle earth in the background. It doesn't interfere with the writing at all. This is a MUST own for any Tolkien fan.

A nice little journal
... It is a leather-bound journal containing a parchmentesque paper. It's nice for keeping a journal of your life or just for notes for something. If you want a journal to use, I suggest this one for it's antiquated feel. It makes you feel as though you are writing a tome similar to "There and Back Again."

Looking for Two Towers? This will do.
As I was looking forward to the New Year, I couldn't help but be excited for the new Lord of the Rings daily calendar. I was disappointed when I couldn't find one for the LOTR: Two Towers, but by contacting the company that makes these calendars (cedco), I found that there isn't going to be a Two Towers calendar for 2003, but that there will be for 2004 (refering to the Daily Calendars only). In this case, I bought the Fellowship calendar. Unlike last years, this one doesn't have quotes or trivia. I was somewhat disappointed because of that too, but nevertheless, I have come to enjoy having a picture on my desk every day. I was fearful that the pictures might be the repeats from last year, but so far, I haven't seen any. The pictures are full color and more glossy than last years. The paper is higher quality I think. (Although they are slightly harder to tear off). I highly recommend this to any LOTR lovers and I hope that my Two Towers mystery was solved for someone else.

Definitely NOT a disappointment!
One of my favorite presents to receive on Christmas day of 2002, this day-by-day calendar was NOT a disappointment! Since I didn't have a "365-day Lord of the Rings calendar" for the year 2002, I'm happy to have one for this year! The calendar is attached to a sturdy plastic frame, can either be left flat on your desk, propped up, or hung on the wall. The pages are very high quality, a bit on the thin side yet it doesn't feel cheap. But the best part of the calendar is of course the beautiful pictures. As it says on the box, the pictures are 'full color', and the images are very clear and sharp. The artwork borders are also extremely well-done, artistic and beautiful. The pictures are not necessarily in any order, mostly frames from the movie, some publicity photos, and some shots that were not in the movie. And make sure to not through away the paper, it's great to keep to write your notes on. Enjoy the year with this terrific 365-day Lord of the Rings: Fellowship of the Ring calendar!

Great for LotR fans!
The calendar is full of really great looking pictures, some even look like they're from scenes not in the movie... Unfortunately, if you had the 2002 LotR:FotR calendar, it may seem a bit old. I'd wait for the TTT 2003 day-to-day calendar.

Add a little culinary magic in your life
Witch In The Kitchen: Titania's Book Of Magical Feasts is a unique and very highly recommended cookbook by Titania Hardie that is entertainingly illustrated with unusual photography by Sara Morris and offers recipes that introduce a kind of "culinary magic" which is especially appropriate to pagan celebrations and events from Summer Weddings, and Harvest Celebrations to Winter Solstice and Halloween. From Salad of Warm Goat Cheese; Eggplant Confit with Pita Bread; and Salmon Baked in a Tent; to Barbecued Potatoes with Basil Butter; Summer Fruit Champagne Jelly; and Ginger Divination Cookies, Witch In The Kitchen offers delicious recipes with special metaphysical applications. Of special interest is the section devoted to "The Witch's Herbal". If you'd like a little culinary magic in your life, then Witch In The Kitchen is the cookbook for you!

Delicious and Magical Recipes!
I have been a longtime fan of Titania's and have all of her books. I was delighted to see that she had Witch in the Kitchen out and bought it right away. This book is definitely recommended for people who practice or are interested in magic and also love to cook. Not only are the recipes different and delicious, but they are presented along with interesting ways to present the meals and absolutely gorgeous photography. This book is worth having even for the photography alone! It is one of my favorite books that she has written so far.

GREAT RECIPES, GREAT IDEAS, GREAT BOOK!
This book is all things a cookbook should be: full of great resipes & simple to use. The photos are interesting, but not quite my style; a bit too contemporary. I prefer magical cookbooks with more of an old-fashioned flair. One recipe, for example, is "Roast Goose with Apples & Rum" & the photo is of a plastic lawn-ornament goose with a scarf around it's neck. Not very appetizing! The photos are mostly in that vein of funny/modern. But the recipes are lovely & easy to prepare (and di I mention delicious?)...The book does not dump a lot of wiccan info that most witches would have anyway. It gives you some primers on incorporating magic in cooking, good basic herbal info, and some cute magical ideas to throw into your kitchen work. A lot of recipes are really unique and sound complicated, but they're really not. One of my favorite kitchen witch cookbooks that I own. Recommended.

GREAT PLANNER
Used this planner for college last year....and it was very handy and useful. GOOD AMOUNT OF SPACE FOR ASSIGNMENTS AND COULD BE USED FOR EVERYTHING not Only school. IF YOU LOVE DAWSONS CREEK THIS CALENDER GETS YOU THROUGH EVERYTHING

Dawson's Creek Student Planner
For all Dawson's Creek fans, this is a must have planner. Not only does the planner have about 40 pictures of the stars of the show (James Van Der Beek, Katie Holmes, Joshua Jackson, Michelle Williams, Kerr Smith and Meredith Monroe) but it includes very useful things that you would need in any good assignment book. Some of those things would be a full-year calender, class schedules for you to fill out for all 4 quarters of school, space for each individual day and it's assignments and plans, a grade keeper, useful websites, a section of weights and meausures, a table of conversations, commonly misspelled words, addresses and phone numbers, and more. So not only is this a great tool for acedemic and orginazational reasons, but the theme of it is Dawson's Creek, a great television series!

A Wonderful Journal
Plentiful pages. Paper has a smooth even surface that makes writing in it a joy :)

Flavia Blank Books
I have enjoyed the magical drawings and sweet sentiments of Flavia's greeting cards and gift books since the 80's. I was delighted when I discovered that there is now a line of journals with Flavia artwork and inspirational titles. These colorful journals lay flat for easy writing and have an elastic band on the back that can be used as a bookmark. The front picture is set back in a cutout. This book is thick enough to hold many thoughts for avid writers who don't want to replace journals monthly. I write on the front and back of the lined pages and mine last 2-6 months. For me, it is long enough to feel like it was worth my money and short enough for periodic fresh starts. I have gone through more then 3 Flavia journals, and still prefer them over others on the market. I just hope that more designs keep coming out! Your only problem with this journal will be choosing which one to pick first!

Great Design
Hi, I bought this book with hopes on finding a journal that I can keep and finish it. I've never had luck with finishing a journal mostly because they either fell apart, or it was to hard to keep open to write in. I've been using this journal since November, and I love the fact that it actually lies flat when I go to write in it. I also love the cover design's, and the attatched bookmark, so I can keep my place in the journal. If you want a quality journal I'd recommend you getting a book by Flavia, and if you love the colors you should get Forever by Flavia...if you don't like red /tan I'm sure you can find a color combination you like.

Makes Writing a Pleasure
As an unapologetic journal junkie, I was quite pleased to have stumbled across the Flavia line and I ordered this journal after reading about it. It arrived and I've been using it and it's been a pleasure.

The first big thing is the fact that the pages lie flat. There is nothing worse than writing at top speed as your thoughts pour out and having to fight to keep the pages down at the same time. I'm amazed at the difference that special feature makes.

Also the paper is nice and thick so if you're like me and you use gel pens and fountain pens you don't have to worry about the ink bleeding through to another page.

Another good thing is that they're over 200 pages, which is twice the size of the average journal, and yet the price is so reasonable, so you get more value for money. On top of all that, they're just so pretty to look at.

I'm very satisfied with my purchase and I'll definitely be ordering more.

The Living Wild 2002 Calendar

nice photo work BUT....
I liked the photography in this book but i can not believe how UNSHARP all the shots are. They are blown up way too much considering he works with 35mm equipment. The book layout is splendid but should be produced in half the dimensions of the current version. Best part is the distribution maps with the photos reduced and a brief write-up about the species and how the shots were taken.

amazing
I ordered this book from a book distributor that I deal with at the store where I work and when it came in, 2 of my co-workers were so impressed by it that they asked me to order one for each of them. This is an absolutely incredible book for wildlife enthusiasts. The photographers may be interested in reading Art's notes at the end of each section that often explain some techniques and gear used for the shots. This is a stunning addition to any coffee table top.

Magnificent Wildlife Photography!!!!!
Art Wolfe, perhaps the world's pre-eminent wildlife photographer, and my favorite photographer from any genre, has done it again. The "Living Wild" book is produced in wide format much like his Africa work. This production both shows off his wide angle photography, and creates a high-quality work that would make any coffee table or library proud. Wide-angle shots are combined with multi-image pages to create a portfolio that is at once balanced, and eye catching.

Wolfe has a stunning visual style - his animal shots appear to be more portraits than wildlife photography. I found myself wondering how he could have possibly captured some shots. Better still, he captures them in their habitats, combining landscape with flora and fauna as only he can. Animals from virtually every climate are featured: desert to temperate zone. For the true animal lover, he includes briefs on each animal species featured, much in the way most modern zoos do. These are combined with essays from respected zoologists like Jane Goodall.

The net effect? A beautiful, high-quality photographic collection, wrapped in an interesting and informative package. I recommend this highly to lovers of photography, animals, or show-off quality coffee table books.

Check out his other works as well. Stunning.
