This a small, simple book. Engagingly written, it hardly merits the price. Have a look at "How to Find Your Ideal Country Home: Ruralize Your Dreams" -- spend a little more money and get some useful information. This is the first book I ever returned.

Justify the cover price by making the book thick:
75 pages of the history of the guitar ("the lute had a number of drawbacks") and famous guitar players -- 12 pages of glossary, several pages of blank music staffs, an overly inclusive index--there's too much air in this book.

Advice on buying a guitar: 'bring along a friend who knows about guitars'

The beginning songs presented are the same old 'twinkle twinkle' 'merrily we roll along' 'jingle bells' that are in EVERY old, not-very-good guitar book--this wasn't written for children, why all the children's songs? The bits and pieces of music theory are not well organized. The general tone of the writing is condescending. And there's way too much filler: you've just learned "twinkle twinkle" -- do you really need a chapter (well, a couple of pages) on recording yourself in a studio?

If you have ANY beginning guitar books already, then 90% of the actual guitar-playing information in this one is redundant.

I read about this book in a magazine on a recent plane trip and thought I would enjoy seeing all the gadgets I crave in one resource....this book was written in 1997 and every item I listed, no longer is made or the pricing in 4 to 10 times then todays prices.............waste of time and money

The title of this book and the sponsorship by the Purchasing Magazine create relatively lofty expectations. Unfortunately none of the expectations are met. This book reads like a poor high school project, offers no real discussion of "global" elements of sourcing, and provides virtually no insights to sourcing managers.

This novel is a hundred-or-so pages of fluffed-up filler. Common sense is repackaged as 'Auction Secrets' that purport to enable sellers to obtain more money than they would be able to through a real-estate agent. The big question of WHY people would pay more at your auction than they would through a regular sale is left completely unanswered. Annoyingly, the authors have seen fit to arbitrarily replace the letter 'S' in their book with the dollar sign '$', making it much more difficult to read.

This book details the cars - the manufacturing information could be helpful to someone who doesn't know much about old Mopars. But the "buying" part was virtually nonexistent. A 1 to 5 star system gives the reader a VERY broad idea of which cars in a series are worth (or at least probably cost) more, but there is no information on what to look for except for one or two paragraphs per model line, and most of these are simply common-sense. I'm not surprised it's out of print - it's not worth the trouble to find unless you want some nice B&W photos.

I bought this book because I am in the market for a Jag and I am new to the make. I wanted some specifications, history, options, problem areas to look for ect. I was extremely disappointed. This book is very lacking in content. It only list a very very few specification for a few models and gives hardly any detail on options that were available through the years. The same could be said for any reviews on the cars. The XJ12 info was especialy lacking, and this happens to be a model of particular intrest to me. There was no mention of problem areas for this model, such as where they rust, what common mechanical problems they have ect. The last two books I have bought in this series were disappointments. From now on I will review the book more before I decide to throw money away.

It may be a real estate book, but how it can say it is Feng Shui is amazing.

Do not be fooled by this book's catchy title. It contains very little useful information, and to make matters worse, is very poorly edited. Numerous, and I do mean numerous, typographical and grammatical errors make reading this book difficult and cumbersome. Was this book even proofread before being published?

The book was not specific and gave me no idea what was a fair price to pay for a diamond. It wasn`t what I was looking for!!!
