Girdler delineates the distinguishing characteristics of each model so the novice buyer can tell one from another and do some thinking about what Harley might suit him or her best. He defies Harley buyer convention in preferring function over form by rating the FXR models higher than the Softtails. He tends to ignore even glaring flaws like Sportster vibration and glosses over the INA cam bearing issue with some Evo engines. He doesn't note significant changes from year to year, such as the move from 35mm to 39mm forks on XL and FX models, the change in the clutch actuation mechanism on Big Twins, and other changes that significantly effect the performance of the bikes. He clearly loves Harleys, and that means he sometimes turns a blind eye to their faults.

This text provides a good overview of the MG marque across several decades and offers the reader key points on each model. Because the scope is broad, there is not a lot of information on any one model. The system for rating the models is perhaps too simplistic but does provide a very basic foundation. The reader may be best served by accessing this book for general information and then pursuing other texts for detailed information on specific models. William Sydnor

This book is more catered to readers who have no background on the media. It is more informational than instructional. It's great if you are looking into learning about how the media works per se but not if you are concerned about effectively positioning your products in the market. All in all, this is a great REFERENCE to keep.

You know your dealing with a book that's outdated when you read "Most first loans are made by savings and loans associations." No offense intended to the author but although many of the concepts are good, they are not well-explained or presented for beginners to easily understand. I only understood as much as I did because I am in the real estate industry. Better choices are out there.

As with many wine book serials, there are new additions, but for the most part, the text usually remains the same as in previous editions. If you are looking for a wine guide written by such wine critics as Clarke, Hugh Johnson, et al., it's important to ask yourself first which critic's opinions you agree with most before purchasing his book. Did you agree with Clarke's rating on a certain viognier? Or do you tend to agree with Johnson more? I have read thorugh Oz Clarke's guide, and it is informative and has a good primer if you're just starting out in wine appreciation. But be sure you agree with his opinions, otherwise his pick may not be quite as yummy to your taste buds. I have both Oz Clarke and Hugh Johnson's 1998 editions, and I found that having them both is useful when comparing their opinions on the same wines, but more importantly, in forming my own opinion.

This is an excellent window to be aware of the importance of integrating purchasing strategies with various business tools such as TQM, JIT, MRP.The author critically analyses trends of management focus and gives suggestions to purchasing personnel to re-allign and improve their performance measures of cost, quality and delivery. As a practising purchase manager, I have been greatly benefited in provoking the thought process of my department personnel to constantly innovate and improve their effectiveness. I have recomended a copy of this book to all libraries of our 17 group companies. I would be delighted if the author and the publishers come out with material on using "change management" by purchase professionals to use tools of ERP and e-commerce and "adjust their sails" to ride the new cutting edge technologies.

This book is suitable reading for someone reading a course on purchasing. For practitioners looking for real insights into value purchasing, best give this a miss as there are not very much information that is already known.

Jam-packed with photos, illustrations, examples of what to look for while inspecting a structure. Doesn't appear to be very deep in the valuation portion, but by following his detailed procedure (3+ hours) you will identify all potential problems with a home. Once identified, you can then hire a contractor to estimate the work to correct it.

The book adds zero value to anyone with even rudimentary knowledge of real estate investing. It's mostly filled with pictures of houses in two different states showing how prices were different for the two states decades ago. The point was made after the first sentence stating that fact.

Quite simply, there is absolutely nothing of substance in this book. I wouldn't even recommend it to a novice. A complete waste of my time and money!

This is the BEST real estate book I've read - and I've brought almost every real estate book available on amazon[.com] or it's in my wish list. He states he is targeting African Americans. I am as white as they come - and this book is NOT just for African Americans - it's for everyone.
I am a novice. Most of the time the real estate "gurus" are so busy trying to motivate you to buy - or explain "creative financing" that they leave out the basics - what to actually do. How to take the FIRST STEP.
This book gives what questions to ask - gives examples and pictures (which helps since in my research I've been amazed at how reasonably priced investment homes are - and the pictures helped me to understand that yes it is that easy)
I cannot praise this book enough - and am buying 2 more copies today because I don't want to part with mine - I want it with me when I call on properties.
