This book gives tidbits of information on a huge variety of subjects, but not in much detail. It reads well, and has good pidtures, the ones that are commonly used in current dog books, all the same few dogs. It goes in-depth about things most people would buy a subject-specific book for: breeding, whelping, choosing puppies. It is a good basic, general, all around book. Would be useful to have for reference purposes or easy access to pieces of information one would normally read chapters about. GOOD PURCHASE!!

I found this book very helpfull, it tells about evry step of the home buying process. I found the details about closings and the chapter on agents especially enlightening. Knowing the rules behind "seller's agents" and "buyer's agent" is not as simple as it seems, something I would otherwise not have realized. I feel better prepared to begin searching for a house having read it

Cigar prices from around the world were extremely helpful. Cigar tastes are very helpful for your individual taste buds!. However to much information about Non-Cuban Cigars, if your a Non-American like myself forget it, I only smoke Cubans, the best. This book is missing numerous Cuban brands and sizes, El Rey del Mundo Robusto for an example what a fantastic Cigar, Romeo y Julieta Prince of Wales? I could go on. With good humor, Strachan takes the reader through the selection, backing and early flatwork with a young event prospect. She then covers her method of introducing fences and XC obstacles. The book also covers basic fitness work and preparing a youngster for its first competition. A nice book, written with evident care for the development of young horses.

This book provided and an invaluable supply of forms and checklists, assisting me to develop all the documents necessary to successfully develop an in-house leasing program. However, I was disappointed in the actual usability of the accompanying diskette. Some of the formatting caused certain text (such as subject headers) to be invisible.

I would recommend this book to others who need a practical reference, but who also have other reference materials for contrast and comparison.

I first read this several years ago, and while some of the technical info has surely changed, his basic comments about computers and how to use them remain very sound. It's written with dry wit, highly quotable, but lays out how-to's and whys for the beginner in a way that has appealed to many to whom I've shown the book. This isn't for the highly technical, although they will find it funny. It's for the bright going into a new technical world. Interesting illustrations.

As a woman buying a car it can be an intimidating experience. Everyone tells you to take a man with you to negoitiate, I say take this book! It provides you with info on the lemons to avoid, safety records and even gives you a base price to negoitiate. The car dealers quake in their boots and grumble under their breath, but you get the best deal for you money when you go prepared!

the book is fine, but i need more information

This 20 year old book has rather usual advice for fitting & buying a racing style bike, much of which is now seriously outdated, but what is uniquely valuable are the interviews & visits with famous bike builders in four countries. Sante Pogliaghi, Jack Taylor, and others, all dead now and collectible as examples of a bygone age of fine handmade cycle artisans. No other publication has done this and this book is a great resource and testimonial.
