Wonderful Introduction to the M&A Process
Tom Taulli, media savant and expert dealwatcher, has penned a volume that is useful, comphrensive, and readable. Bravo!

A Great Acquisition !
This book is a terrific read for any business person who has been, will be, or wants to be in Mergers and Acquisitions. Tom Taulli does a great job educating and advising the reader. This is a must have book for investment bankers, business brokers and dealmakers, but especially for executives of companies who are considering selling or acquiring other businesses.

A Must read for any M&A Professional
The Complete M&A Handbook is a great read. I plan on buying several copies to hand out to clients. The explanations are very clear and concise. Yet detailed enough for a professional to put in the tool box for reference.

How to Buy a House in California

Informative and easy to understand
This book explains all the little nuances about buying a house. I read the whole thing and parts of it more than once before I bought my first house. It is well organized so that you can read just certain chapters if you need specific information right away. I actually sold my copy online after my house closed. Later, I ended up buying a copy as a gift for a friend. I recommend this book to all my friends who are thinking about buying a house.

As usual, the only book you'll need.
I used the Nolo Press tenants' rights book in the past to (successfully) sue my deposit-greedy/law-breaking landlords. I just used this book to buy my first home in the competitive Bay Area (yes, it's still highly competitive even in these "tough times"). Nolo's book is accurate and insightful, written in a voice that's accessible and, at times, fun and tongue-in-cheek. The organization of information, as usual, is right on. And the links and helpful sidebars are fantastic! Don't waste your money on other books. I swear this one is the only book you'll need.

Highly recommended - Nolo Press does it again
This book was recommended to us by a friend who bought a home in California. Since then, we've bought it for other friends and family. Nolo Press publishes excellent books, and this is no exception. If you only read one book on buying a home (in California), this should be it.

Fascinating! The Best I've Ever Read on Pearls.
This book covers everything anyone needs to know about pearls. It's filled with information that helped me finally realize what's important in selecting nice pearls, and why some are so much more expensive than others. I was so confused about them after talking to different jewelers that I wasn't sure what to buy (and they are too expensive to make a mistake). This book was a godsend. And I love the pearls I finally bought...and know they will stay beautiful! Also, I never knew there were CULTURED abalone pearls, but I plan to look for them for my next treat to myself!

GREAT JOB!
I've always admired the beauty of pearls, but never known much about them. The folklore and history explained in this book makes it as much an enjoyable novel as it is an informational source. The knowledge I have gained from reading this book is invaluable. (Remember, guys! We women just LOVE pearls!)

Read this first to save time and money for quality pearls.
A SUPER way to educate oneself before or during the process of selecting the right pearls.

Enjoy!

A bargain at any price!
As I began reading SELL IT BY OWNER and SAVE, I realized this was no ordinary How-To text. It is obvious that the author "knows his stuff," and that he is able to explain real estate buying/selling in a conversational style that is both understandable and entertaining. Clearly, his goal was to provide an abundance of useful information to help homeowners achieve success. I highly recommend this book.

Excellent reference book!
I was clueless about how to proceed in selling my home myself, but this book has provided me with all of the information I need. It is an honest assessment of how to sell your own home and is easy to read in and organized format, which will make it easy for future reference.

For anyone who is considering selling their home
Sell It By Owner & Save is a practical, straightforward guide to selling a home without a broker. Accessibly written by a professional broker in down-to-earth, layman's language, Sell It By Owner & Save covers each step of the sale in clear detail. Sell It By Owner & Save is a superbly presented "how to" primer for anyone who is considering selling their home, whether they want to enlist the aid of a broker or not!

A must for any real estate developer or homebuilder
My name is Tom Porchello and I've been a commercial developer and home builder for 16 years in western Connecticut. I learned about Mr. Abalos and his investinginland.com website after surfing the internet and boy am I glad I found it! His book called Investing in Land is simply one of the best real estate books ever written and that's no joke. Not just on the subject of making money with land but explaining how investors actually make money buying and selling properties. I've read them all from Nickerson to Lowry to Allen and more and this book is simply amazing and in a class by itself. One chapter recently saved me $340,000 on a land purchase. I attended one of his live seminars in San Francisco and it was memorable. The guy really knows the real estate business and makes what he teaches fun to learn. I know Mr. Abalos is one of the most respected real estate lawyers and authors on these subjects in America and it really shows. His book not only shows you step by step how to make money as a developer or investor but also discusses ethics in real estate, something rare in today's real estate world, but also asks the reader to search their own heart and always realize that money is sometimes not the greatest reward, maybe building a park, nature reserve, or preserving a farm is. I would recommend this book and his website with dozens of free articles on real estate investing and development at investinginland.com to any investor, developer, or homebuilder. This is one book on my shelf that will not be gathering any dust.

Cohesive, yet simple!!
Robert's book is my first reading in real estate investment, and this being the subject of land investment. I have to say, it is well presented, concise, and filled with some practical suggestions and tips. I look forward to executing some of the ideas presented. I fully recognize the leveraging power of options and to me, this is the way to go. He gives some compelling reasons why land investment are much more lucrative than the typical improved real property. A bit of useful financial information is also presented

Besides the book, you're also getting access to the author who can be reached by email and responses typically come back within half a day. You can't beat that!! Now that's leveraging!!

Investing In Land by Robert Abalos
Investing In Land by Robert Abalos is an informative, no-nonsense approach that is a refreshing alternative to the typical "how to" real estate investment product on the market today. I believe it is especially valuable to those new land investors who have yet to take that first step into this most misunderstood area of real estate.

Having invested in over 100 residential and a few commercial properties during my 11+ years in the business, I was looking for a way to become specifically involved in land acquisition and resale. Investing In Land was a perfect fit because I was enlightened to many ideas that I have subsequently used as a result of my reading.

In fact, I'm certain that by following Mr. Abalos's advice regarding seller financing I have saved at least tens of thousands of dollars, if not more, in just the past few months alone. I especially enjoyed his advice on how to approach properties with title defects; I agree that problem properties often yield the highest returns. This book is worth many times it's cost, as are all good investment books that help you profit. I recommend it highly.

It's Usable and easy to understand.
I was extremely happy to find a "How To "book that got right to the point. It is obvious that the author has "Been There, Done That".
The technical explanations were clear and thorough.
There are alot of new (to me) and interesting approaches on how to structure transactions. Annuities,IRA's etc.
Easy read,a lot of useable content.

This a very readable book
I'm not really into politics, but I do like American History. This book is different than anything I have ever read -- and apparantly it's a true story, too. The fellows in this book, the true life Tough Boys, were a bunch of shady characters ... but before you're done reading this volume, you learn to like all three of these guys, Raymond Chafin, Claude "Big Daddy" Ellis and Dan Dahill. This book is filled with history, excitement and humor.
I bought several copies as Christmas presents. It's that good. Good job, Davis.

Tales of vote-buying, free liquor, fistfights
An impressive contribution to the annals of 20th Century American Political History, West Virginia Tough Boys: Vote Buying, Fist Fighting, And A President Named JFK by journalist F. Keith Davis is an amazing collection of reminiscences of West Virginia political kingpins and civic leaders during the heady 1960s. Tales of vote-buying, free liquor, fistfights over campaign strategies, and double-take inducing tales directly from the men and women who thrived in JFK's time, West Virginia Tough Boys is so candid it's hard to put down.

Tough Boys Rule!
This is a book like no other I have ever read. I never dreamed that we, the people of the United States, dealt with things like vote-buying and curruption that was out-in-the-open. This author writes with great color and paints a vivid story with a bright pallet. He describes a time and place that no longer exists as it once was -- a bustling coal town called Logan, in West Virginia. And these "Tough Boys" are ornery mountain politicians who get away with everything as slick-as-a-ribbon. It's fun to read, especially because it's all true. Plus, here's the kicker: John Kennedy was even involved in the underhanded world of half-pints of liquor for votes, and cash palmed for favors. YOU HAVE TO READ THIS BOOK!

just a little reassurance
This is a good choice if you feel skittish about following thru with the largest transaction in your life. Much of this book didn't apply to me because I'm buying just land in NC with cash --a transaction that's much simplified from the stuff she covers here. Much is made of escrow, but in NC, as far as I can tell, escrow is not as central to the closing process. There is an appendix on the differences between the closing procedures between all of the US states, but it would be nice if this was beefed out a little more. Still worth it, comprehensive, and good links to web resources.

The Best Guide
"This book has all the information anyone needs for all aspects of a closing. It tells you the right questions to ask, when to ask them, and includes helpful checklists, which are really user-friendly. I used this personally in my latest closing, and it was the best guide I could have had. The list of documents needed to be sure the closing goes smoothly was great. Sandy Gadow is the leading author and expert on closings and escrow and I appreciated the easy to read style of her book. Worth buying this book!"

The Complete Guide to Your Real Estate Closing
I really enjoyed this book. The book is written very clearly, with great illustrations and examples. The easy to understand way in which closing was explained made sense and was easy to follow. I have read many real estate books, but never one written by a closing professional. Someone who really knows the subject matter from first hand experience. This book prepared me for what to expect at closing, what fees I was allowed to question and how to negotiate lower closing costs. I realized that settlement errors just don't happen at the mortgage level, they also happen at the title company. This book delivered on it's title. It really is a complete guide and a handy reference book. I went to closing with less worry and more confidence than ever before. I understood what I was doing and what to question. This is the only book I could find that really helps you with the final and most critical part of a real estate purchase (or sale).

a daughter's love
hi dad. loved the book. it was very interesting and informative. keep up the good work!

Highly Recommended
There are a lot of books out there that say they can supply you with the "Know-how" of supply chain management, but the Handbook of Supply Chain Management truly describes the supply chain as a "System". It views all critical material as elements, which are efficient in building an essential strong company. This handbook lays a foundation for others to follow.

This manual is a valuable reference, which helps the reader to grasp an understanding of supply chain strategies using a how-to guide. The instructive chapters walk you through all the important aspects of successful management. Contains actual studies, which can be viewed as educational tools and how to apply them to achieve the best possible results.

Overall, I highly recommend this book and I have already applied it in the optimization of our processes.

Christopher Kutyla
Manager, Technical Operations Planning

Handbook of Supply Chain Management
My company is a contract manufacturer operating at multiple sites internationally producing consumer products for many different Customers. As a supply chain improvement team leader I found the Handbook extremely useful as a comprehensive resource for the latest techniques in supply chain management, particularly, the sections on strategy and how to use supply chains to improve a competitive position. This is a great book and I would highly recommend it to anyone undertaking a similar effort.
