After reading book after book about buying business from library and book store, this book still remain my major guide of buying a business. Originally, I borrow this book from library but after renew two times and return the book and later borrow it again, then I finally realize how valuable this book is. Finally, I bought a copy from Amazon. The author gave very good advices and even provide examples later become my standard model to compare against the business I am going to buy. No B.S. is why this book stand out.

This book transformed me into a savvy, confident PC consumer. I really could not believe how well it was written. I do believe all future examples should be more diverse. (Example, use "Uncle Joe's cookie recipe" instead of always using the female counterpart.) Other than that minor issue, I loved the book and now when I want to learn something new, I go directly to "The Complete Idiot's Guide" series first!!!

Before I read this book I knew nothing about the inner workings of a computer. This book explained everything you could possibly want to know about a computer in terms which the computer illiterate could very easily understand. I have plans to buy a computer sometime in the near future and now I know exactly how to read a computer ad and what all of the terms in the ad mean. Most importantly I know what I want my computer to have on it when I purchase it, and I understand what RAM, processor, harddrive etc mean. If you plan to buy a computer and don't know a thing about them, run as fast as you can to buy this book bfore you even walk into a computer store.

Author Jordan D. Lewis uses the experiences of four major companies - Motorola, Philips Consumer Electronics Company, Marks & Spencer and Chrysler - to show the benefits of creating an alliance with your suppliers. The book, which is thorough and complete, if a bit long-winded, explains the benefits of such customer-supplier alliances, shows how to get started if you want to form a partnership and spells out how to maintain the relationship. The obligatory tables and figures are conveniently listed right after the table of contents. If you are in a huge rush, you can skip the book and just read the tables, because you will probably get a condensed version of the same information. But we at getAbstract think you'll enjoy reading how these four companies fumbled through the awkward initial stages of customer-supplier alliances and then emerged into trend-setting, money-making success.

This is truly an A to Z look at every component that a PC user needs. It not only objectively rates everything, as expected from CR, but also explains computer terminology: RAM, ROM, MODEM, BROWSER, SEARCH ENGINE, COOKIES, SPAM, etc. There is a guide to the brands (hardware and software), and help in choosing peripherals that are just right for you. Setting up a home office? Here is some good advice. This book is up-to-date, with the latest information just before it went to print. I'm going to buy a new edition each year, to keep up with the technology.

These are probably some of the best books ever written, not only do they give you advice about buying everyday products, they also help to select brands with good repair histories and lowest priceses with the best possible features.

Cars are often sought after in this magazine because they give unbiased ratings for car models up to 8 years old.

One of the best information books on buying new cars. If you are looking to buy a car, this is an inexpensive way to get all the basic information on the cars you are interested in. Check quality, owner satisfaction, depreciation, etc on each car. At $8, this is a worthy investment for anyone looking to get a new car.

Buying a used car? I am. Buy the "Consumer Reports Used Car Buying Guide" first. In it, I found lists of "Good Bets," which are cars the authors consider to perform well over the years. That is guiding my purchase. I won't buy a car not listed there. I also found lists dividing reliable cars by price range, which cars have had recalls, unreliable models (by year), and detailed descriptions of the pros and cons of each vehicle.

That's not all. There are also articles on safety, buying strategies, batteries, insurance, towing, depreciation, tires and child car seats.

It is not a complicated book. It is straight to the point, with minimal car jargon.

I fully recommend "Consumer Reports Used Car Buying Guide." I am confident that because I have read it and refer to it while I shop for an auto online, I am prepared to save money and to buy a better vehicle.
