The BEST book for the Home Buyer
Buying a house without reading this book first would be the biggest mistake that you will ever make. This book resides on the top shelf of my bookcase where it has remained for seven years. There are his & hers bookmarks and twenty plus folded corners in my copy. The wife let someone borrow it once, for ONE day (never again!). Now we are looking for a new house and this book is just as valuable today as it was many years ago.

Excellent reference for home buyers
Several years ago this was the best single book about home buying which I could find. It covers financing options, renting vs. buying, new homes vs. old, maintenance and replacement, the buying process, things to look for when inspecting property, remodeling, etc. Currently out-of-print, but still an excellent reference. Most of he material is still relevant to today's home buyers.

Never a dull moment
Without a doubt, this edition is the best buying guide for diamond buyers. Antoinette Matlins knows everything there is to know about diamonds and their purchase.

"A SPARKLING BUY"
I have most of Antoinette Matlins books and I give them all five stars. If you are interested in learning about or are planning to buy a diamond for any reason, I would read this book first!!
I recently purchased the book "Diamond Buying Guide" and had not realized how involved and complicated it is to understand the differences in the evaluation of diamonds. A particular diamond I thought was a great deal before reading this book, however, I learned was not a good deal at all. The purchase would have been a poor investment. Thanks to this book I gained enough confidence and knowledge to explore the diamond market and I purchased a beautiful diamond ring for my wife. I had the diamond ring appraised by a reputable appraiser and I felt even better when she informed me that my purchase was as represented and the purchase was at a very good price. The appraiser was impressed with how much I new about diamonds. I was proud to inform her it was because of this book. The book is easy reading, informative, and was helpful to me. Thanks!

Drive the Best for the Price
This book will pay for itself by helping to get a good deal on a used car or, perhaps more importantly, avoid a bad deal. The author does an excellent job speaking in layman's language helping us understand the used car market. He provides lots of questions I hadn't thought of and includes sources to gain information. I especially appreciate the thorough list of things to check before a used car is purchased. This information will save our family significant money!

Kyle Busch The Teacher Writer
Kyle Busch is a man who is 41 years old and lives in Erie Pa, He is a teacher and counsiler and wrote a great book called "Drive For The Best Price: How to Buy a Used Automobile, Sport-Utility Vehicle, or Minivan and Save Money" This is a great book which can help any person of any age buy a good vehicle for there needs and price they are willing to pay. This book is great for people who don't know much about cars and are wanting to get a good used car for a reasonable amount of money. I would recomend this book to any body who is wanting a new used car. Also I believe that this writer did a great job on this book. He was able to give my parents great tips on being able to save some money on a used car that my father bought last week. My dad saved $7,500 on his car and would not know what he would have done without this great help guide for cars.

Excellent Framework
Effective communication of the intended message with the objective of ensuring buy-in is a key requirement for leaders at all levels today. This book is an easy to use toolkit for performing this effectively.

The framework ( if I can use the word) for generating buy-in, is simple and powerful. Having determined the buy-in objective, it is important to establish a strategic story line. Humans think in pictures and images, and it is an appealing story that can capture attention about the vision and a positive future. The next step is to have three targeted chapters (based on the theory of Trilogy of Persuasion) , each directed at fulfilling the audience's future needs, wants and goals. Here the leader aligns his goals with that of the audience. Each targeted chapter is followed by supporting evidence to substantiate the statements in the targeted chapters. Buy-in is almost complete at this stage and now is the opportunity to call for action.

Each of these steps is clearly explained through very relevant examples. Excerpts from President George W. Bush's address to a joint session of Congress , September 20, 2001( to rally the nation in the wake of September 11 attacks), structured on this framework , is the best take away from this book.

A chapter at the end of the book is devoted to some FAQ's on the language of buy-in.

This is not a book that discusses theories of leadership and communication, but a practical guide for achieving results.

Highly recommended.

Fast Read, Strong Lessons
My initial sense when I picked up this book is that is was thin, perhaps lightweight. In pounds, it is lightweight (good to stick in your briefcase for that next airplane trip). In content, it's heavyweight.

The premise of this book is that leaders send their messages, inspire their followers, and achieve results by using a particular type of language. The secret is astonishingly simple: tell stories, strategic stories. The key is to share a vision that people can buy into and they'll follow you to the ends of the Earth.

This disarmingly short book provides the insight into the technique, explains how this approach works, shows you how to use it, and encourages you to use the system. It seems so easy...one of those things that's right there in front of us, but we never saw it. Walton, a former CNN journalist, reports what he's learned, citing examples from the strategies of well-known executives.

Readers will benefit from clear explanations, how-to advice, and a sort of combination of enlightenment and inspiration. This book will stimulate your thinking and change the way you communicate. The illustrations, a glossary, and index provide added value.

Many of us would love to jump on the home-based business bandwagon but we simply don't have the qualifications or experience to start a new enterprise from scratch. Popular self-employment authors Paul and Sarah Edwards recognized this predicament, and with Walter Zooi, they have assembled a comprehensive resource precisely for such hesitant entrepreneurs. Home Businesses You Can Buy thoroughly examines franchises, multilevel marketing, and other "prepackaged" business opportunities, and includes important advice on avoiding related scams.

Great understanding and fullfillment of the readers needs
I searched a dozen books looking for my future business. I found this book gave me more than I expected from anyone. Help with evaluating myself, the many businesses, and how well they fit my skills and preferences was provided. The only need I found missing, I learned, was illegal for franchisers to say -what range of income is produced with these businesses. That information has to come from somewhere else.

Getting Off to The Right Start Means Avoiding Scams
I found this book incredibly helpful in getting me off on the right foot in my home-based business. The book clearly outlines the three major "pre-packaged" types businesses available (franchises, business opportunities and multi-level marketing). Then comes the good part. The authors provide a series of tests and checklists that can be applied to any business that you might consider buying. Tests to determine a business' chances for success, the honesty of the seller, the forthrightness of opportunity - and even a test you take yourself to find out if the business is a good match for your personality and skill level - follow each section. These tests, and the information they reveal, take much of the guesswork out making a decision as important as what kind of (and which kind of) business to buy. I highly recommend it. The Edwards', with Walter Zooi, have done it again!

#1 of year's 10 top real estate books. This survey book explains virtually all the home-purchase alternatives, such as different types of houses and condos, as well as low-cost finance alternatives. Aimed at first-time buyers, this well-designed book explains home-buying techniques that less-than-perfect buyers should consider.

This is not Just a Catchy Title
This book is a godsend to anyone who feels there is no way they will ever be able to afford a house. This book is worth every penny. It is well-written, researched and up to date. If you would like to buy a home and are waiting to save up for a downpayment order this book today. You won't be sorry!

This and 'When to sell' should be required reading
From covering all the thoughts that go through ones heads at the time of pressing the trigger, to all the consequences of these thoughts. Everything is covered in this book.
Then it helps one create a strategy for buying based on facts rather than emotions.

I would recommend this book and When to Sell above most books about trading.

Great series of Books.
I can't say enough about the series of When to Buy, When to Sell, and The Nature of Risk. Ironically, I bought the When to Sell years ago, read it and shelved it. It's pages would have saved me a bundle over the past year. As the worst seems to be behind us, knowing when to get back in is key. Simply written with great examples, make this book a must own.
