I am confused...I look at the star ratings and read the reviews...but they don't even come close to my thoughts. This book was an interesting read. They do show a huge variety of techniques that are used for the stage... but they only give you a small taste of the process...Vacuum forming for example, a wonderful process, but zippo info on whereto/howto/whoto contact to buy or to make one. Read this book to get an overview of some ideas...but know that the technology shown is old and past its prime. I know stagework is seen at a distance..but you will not be impressed with the craftsmanship of the projects. Heads up on some safety issues..they skip right over that. oh my.

This is a great book about making masks. It covers the making of molds, including using alginate for a life-casting. He talks about making masks of different materials -- from hex-a-cel to paper mache to neoprene to leather! There's a really *nice* section on leather masks, and he also talks a little bit about the history of the leather masks and how they were used in Renaissance Italy by the Commedia. This book is filled with plenty of black and white photos illustrating the various steps in each mask-making or mold-making process, and the instructions are very clear. Highly recommended for those with an interest in making their own masks.

I think that any one who likes yemen should read this book because it is a book that gives every deatil about yemen.

Pilchard first acts like a cat and ignores Scoop's training efforts. But eventually Pilchard comes around in time to share the prize for best in show with Pickle's dog. If your child has a heavy machinery fascination, this book may not satisfy it, since the book is more about dogs and cats than dozers. It has about 600 words.

This is called "The Bridge Builder's Story" for more than one reason. Sure - Waring is an engineer who builds actual bridges ... but he also builds symbolic bridges between past & present as well as bridges of understanding amongst different faiths, nationalities, etc.

A fast-moving, easy-read that would make a great airplane book. I look forward to reading more of Howard Fast's novels.

Betty tells it like it is. Written so long ago, still Langley is a good read. We use her stuff all the time to create wood block models of speciality structures that look real old. I like old buildings even when they are new. Really not too bad! It's really genuine stuff that Betty largely writes. The 5 orders make me tell a lot about design in generally. Loosely told and using comedic humor Betty tells it like it is. The 5 orders are real loose. You will like Betty too.

GREAT.... I am looking to buy and remodel a house into a duplex. BINGO. Hit the mark. Covered all the major topics, some very obvious and some not so. Will keep the book handy for review as a remodel. I was surprised that there were so many form examples. This could be a definite help to anyone doing this.

I bought this book for my husband to read since he is doing the remodeling and renovating of our 100+ year old home. He didn't look at it, and I ended up reading it. The book is well written, and I learned a lot from it. Unfortunately I am not a contractor, so I don't get any use from the information at all. The book is meant for general building contractors who are knew to the business, or maybe want some fresh ideas on how to win a job contract. If that sounds like you, I think you may find this book useful.

An elmentary but complete guide to the flooring industry. Covers all the main type of fooring; carpet, hard surfaces, ceramic tiles, laminates and wood. Goes into quite a lot o detial on installation techniques, equipment requires etc.

A suitable guide for the buider or contractor not so much for somebody who wants a industry guide.

I was very impressed with the book. I was looking for new techniques and this is what the book provided along with information on how to obtain the materials. Also detailed information on how to use the materials. The book was a great help.
