Where has this guy been hiding
Having spent a busy weekend sightseeing, shopping and eating in Lille thanks to this amusing and shrewd guidebook, I have no hesitation in recommending it to anyone else travelling in France and Belgium. The book had all the information we needed for using public transport, getting to know the locals and seeing the sights without ever making us feel like hicks or gawping visitors. We will be in Paris this Easter and have already chosen our hotels and at least two restaurants from the same book. Does this guy write about anywhere else? If he knows other cities like he knows this one, I want to read about it.

Food for thought and thoughts on food
Laughter and good food make an excellent combination. This book is full of annecdotes and gossipy tips and snippets, yet it also is as mouthwatering as a recipe book. The author reviews restaurants without resorting to fashionable cosmopolitan cliches. Your mouth waters as he remembers succulent sauces and naughty desserts, you smile as he gossips about the waiters and restaurant owners, you want to linger on the salivating detail of every favourote dish and each evocative evening spent in cellars and dining rooms. Yet, when he talks of history, you are as enchanted by the true human nature of kings and artists that he conveys. I love his casual and very individual approach to sightseeing. He can give equal status to a shop selling haute couture for dogs as an art gallery or monument, and he seems to know where all the good stuff is hidden away from the coach trade. I have queued for hours at the Louvre and Musee d'Orsay in Paris, yet this guy knows of a private house with dozens of Monets on view. And best of all he knows where to find the best meals in town without breaking the bank. This book is hot on the practical side of travelling as well. Following his tips, I found out how to travel first class on Eurostar for less than the price of a second class ticket. My only complaint is that this is not part of a series. I travel all over France and Europe and would love to listen to this author's advice on the rest of the country and the continent.

Eat well before you read it
Don't read this book when you are hungry. the food descriptions will make you drool. I used this guide when friends from London came over for the weekend. Mouth-watering restaurant reviews and spot-on opinions and advice about Paris. Useful, good value and sometimes very funny. The book also has full sets of city maps and subway guides, and give very clear directions with every listing. I reckon it would be a great read on the train or the plane as well.

Love and Music
I really enjoyed reading this book. A great read for anyone who has been in love. This book deals with an aspiring cellist and her friend Emily's bout with anorexia. While Sarah spends time with Emily in her New York home, she becomes attracted to Emily's brother David. He also begins to like her. Then it gets really good. I couldn't stop reading, the book is a real page-turner. I could relate to the book. The part about being in love was a major thing I related to. The title really caught my eye. I thought it was an interesting and neat read.

Ah, romance!
I adore the way the romance is handled. Boy meets girl, but boy is flawed. I squirmed and kept turning pages. The romantic in me wanted happy ever after. The feminist in me wanted girl to stick to her guns. Romantic and skeptic were satisfied in the end. Mighty satisfied! This is a marvelous read!

It told of a teenages life in music and her dealing w/ love
i reall enjoyed this book. I felt it dealt with everyday life and what some have to go through to acheive a dream. The main character and her boygriend seem so real. The problems wqith anerexia really relate to some of the troubles girls go through. I really relate to this book because it talks about real life situations young people have to go through these days.

Nangara, the Australian Aboriginal Art Exhibition: Stichting Sint-Jan, Brussels, 1996

¡Nangara!
It's a great book, exactly what I was looking for. It's composed of 2 volumes; one which talks a little about aboriginal art and spirituality and then goes into a brief explanation about each work and the artist. The second volume contains full page color images of the works discussed in the first volume. Its clear, easy to read and the works are great, from a wide range of aboriginal communities within Australia. I would definately recommend this book to those people that love reading about art.

Magnificanet Collection of Australian Aboriginal Art
The book has two parts. The first explains the symbolism in Australian Aboriginal painting, while the second shows a collection of paintings. It's a magnificient book! I recommend it to anyone interested in this kind of art. My only regret about this book is that I didn't buy it when I spotted it in a bookstore in Paris.

EU? P.U.!
Yikes! What were the Boys in Brussels thinking?!

Bravo, Mr. Middleton!

Nick on form as is usual
NIck Middleton as usual delivers the goods. He carries on where he left off delivering a humorous account of the current EEC. His political and economic insight to the region is witty and informative, but as usual he writes with a subtle sarcasm, never shying away from providing the reader with an informative view of the European continent. I would also thoroughly recommend trying to get hold of his earlier work "Last Disco in Outer Mongolia".

No doubt the best guide to Brussels for the curious
Reading this book is like discovering the city yourself, and most of all it will take along those hidden corners that you would have never notices had Derek Blyth not pointed them out. I've lived in Brussels for 12 years, and this book has made me rediscover places that I have been walking past almost every day without realizing how interesting this city really is. Strongly recommended for anyone who wants to get to know this place a little better.

Easy, fun read
This was a very fun, easy read. So much of an easy read, that I finished it in one day!

Mathilda Haycastle is the books heroine, and any woman, no matter where they come from or live, can relate to her personal life that is revealed in the books pages.

I would highly recommend this book to anyone; it definitely keeps you guessing until the very end!

Very Helpful!
This slender book (only 95 pgs.) is easy to travel with and is very helpful for travel in Brussles. It is a large and to me was a daunting city, but this book did serve as a valuable guide. In the book, 13 different itineraries are presented which makes the city much more managable. There are also sections about the history and culture of Brussels, shopping, eating out, nightlife, and practical information. Another nice feature is a detailed map that highlights all the major attratctions! If you plan to spend time in Brussles with nobody to guide you but yourself (as was my case), then I highly reccommend this book. Happy Travels!

Best Ever!!!!!!!!!!
I have read a few of Jane Feather's other books and I thought that this one was one of the best. Judith is just free and out there, but Marcus is a little uptight and that is what made it amazing. Putting these two together was like putting heaven and hell together. It's the passion they have together and it makes you never want to put the book down.

I Love Virtue!
I read Virtue and it enthralled me..the characters - Judith and Sebastian are two siblings with very strong characters with quick wits and they are both gamesters, too. But they do this(gamble) to survive and to attain their lifetime goals ie, to avenge their father's death and in turn recoup back Sebastian's inheritance and title.

Whereas Marcus Devlin is a stuffed shirt kinda character but he's a brilliant man, evident from his involvement with General Wellington and later the triumphant Battle of Waterloo. It's hilarious to see how Judith manages to thwart his attempts to stop her gambling. But the best part is, though most of the times they are at odds with each other, he will seek her romantically later on and it's great to see a hero who's passionate and stern at the same time.

Virtue, a Jane Feather Regency Romance
I just finished reading this in the paperback version and felt the characters and plot were very well developed. It's hard to believe the Davenports' mother was as uncaring as she was portrayed, but I've met a similar type. The up and down romance between Judith and Marcus was very poignant. Enjoy!
