Sparks flying
Sparks fly from more than bonfires in Ballymuir. Jenna Fahey fled her American family and worked to build a crumbling Irish manor into a fine restaurant. Dev Gilvane buried his Irish roots under finely tailored suits. Dev's after Jenna's home and after her heart. Jenna's after soaking his ambitions with the same determination she used to plunge his cell phone into her lobster tank.

Engaging relationship drama
Chicago blue blood Jenna Fahey relocated and opened up a restaurant in Ballymuir, Ireland in the historic Muir House that she hopes to own one day. After two years there renovating the place while serving meals, Jenny worries because London realtor Devlin Gilvane has arrived in town with plans for Muir House.

Jenna needs an infusion of fast cash to buy Muir House before her rival does. Worse she feels attracted to the one person who could destroy her dream as he has the loot to make a bid for Muir House. However, though business wise he knows he should tender the proposal, his feelings for Jenna keeps him from completing his assignment.

Anyone who peruses the opening line will be hooked to read this tale, the previous one (see THE LAST BRIDE IN BALLYMUIR), and the upcoming tale (hopefully starring the sister of the first novel's hero). The story line lives up to the fabulous opening as the audience obtains a fine contemporary romance starring two likable lead characters. The support cast is solid, but Jenna and Dev make the tale as their goals place them in opposition to the desires of their respective hearts.

A Good Book!
This was a GREAT book! I liked it a lot because she managed to have a good mystery, but have other little plots, like seeing Ethan steal, etc. The only bad thing is that she just left the plot hanging. I LOVE her books and I hope she writes more Christie and Company Books. I was VERY disapointed when I looked for more Christie and company books, but couldn't find any. I LOVE mysteries, and this was one of THE BEST I've ever read. Please read this, and, Katherine Hall Page, if you are reading this, this fan REALLY wants more Christie and company books!

The Unicorns go on Vacation
This is a book about a club that takes a trip together. They all have one thing on their minds, boyfriends. They're determined to find some. Especially for Ellen. Everyone found someone for her. But no one would ever pick the boy that she actually likes. This is one of my favorite books from the Unicorn Club series. It's funny and entertaining.

A wonderful way to introduce the cajun dialect.
I was really excited to be able to share this book with my daughter. I grew up in southwestern Louisiana and this delight book brought back alot of memories. The story line was attention grabing and the pictures are beautiful! Mrs. Fontenot has been a fantastic children's author for many years and she just keeps getting better!! We look forward to enjoying many more hours of fun with her books.

Cute story about some bayou creatures
I think the story is lite and cute and can give children an introduction into some french words and phrases. My daughter enjoys it as a bed time story.

A pretty good book....
I used this book over the past year in my French class, and it's pretty well done. Each chapter has vocabulary, grammar explanations, culture/French history, and French literature. Much of the literature is famous, like "Les Miserables," and some of it is lesser known, like "The Dernier Classe."
However, if you are teaching yourself French, do not use this book! While it does include grammar explanations, they are very superficial, and in more cases than not, you will need a teacher or native speaker to help you understand it.

However, this book does have a tendency to repeat some vocabulary over a span of several chapters which helps the words stick with you. Trust me, by the time you finish this book, you'll know how to describe a robbery or burglary in perfect French!

On a final note, this book is good because it's very modern. It includes modern "slang" phrases (not old and outdated ones that make you sound stupid). It also uses the euro as currency and has a more fun approach to material than some of the older books do. Overall, it's a pretty good French book.

Great photos and descriptions of the world's high peaks!
Leo Le Bon's book contains 144 pages of great photos and descriptions of treks. The cover photo of K2 is spectacular and breathtaking. If you've seen the movie, K2, you'll immediately recognize the cover mountain. I am a mountaineer, and I enjoyed the book for the simple reason that trekking is a plausible alternative to climbing. Simply put, I can't afford to climb K2 or Everest, but I may be able to trek to nearby areas. I would love to be close enough to simply see K2 or Everest. If you enjoy reading about mountaineering, you'll also enjoy TJ Burr's "Rocky Mountain Adventure Collection", which is also available through Amazon.com.
