Block

This book is paradoxical in a couple of ways. First, for being a book whose text barely makes it past 90 pages, it has an incredible amount of content. His secret is to use slick, but understandable, proofs and surprisingly (at least for a graduate text) he shows almost every step. Secondly, it is interesting that a book entitled "Lectures on Block Theory" does not define a block until page 68. The reason is that Kulshammer must restate the "classical theory of finite dimensional algebras" into the language of points as invented by Puig.

The book was a pleasure to read. It does not contain exercises, but if one is willing to sit down with pencil and paper and work through the proofs, one will gain more than enough understanding of the subject.

An important feature of this text is that it assumes that all algebras are over an algebraically closed field of characteristic p. I believe that the results contained also hold when this condition is weakened, but you will need to go to Thevenaz's book to see that.

Overall, I would highly recommend this book to anyone who is interested in learning rep'n theory from Puig's point of view.

My toddlers LOVE this book! It is just delightful. The story is endearing, the rhymes delightful, and the illustrations bright and colorful. My 3 year old asks to hear it every night. And I like reading it to him not only because the words are fun to say aloud, but because of the book's positive message for children. That message is: be comfortable being yourself. I strongly recommend this book to all parents of pre-school children.

I hadn't done much quilting, so Ms. Libal's book was a great A - Z lesson for me! Not only did her book introduce me to 26 different patterns, but Ms. Libal's great sense of color and beautiful fabric choices really encouraged me to be bold and have fun with my quilting!

Love Created is an easy reading, informative book. Definitely a 'must read' for those who are interested in becoming more intimate with their love partner.

Macintosh Programming Techniques is an excellent book that is very easy to understand. I highly recommend it. The only caveat is that the source code for the chapter projects after the 3rd or 4th chapter lacks the function declarations, but they're on the CD-ROM anyway.

For those who are genuinely looking for ways to reconnect with their love partner, THE MAGIC OF LASTING LOVE will truly enlighten any willing reader. Dr. Block discusses many common problems that deter couples from truly enjoying and loving one another. Through the use of his unique questionnaire, the reader(s) have the opportunity to participate in pinpointing the issues affecting his/her own relationship. Once issues needing attention are recognized, this thorough guide helps facilitate workable solutions that aid the healing process. Through a direct yet compassionate approach, Dr. Block helps the reader understand the dynamics behind a loving, intimate relationship and what it takes to keep it that way. To emphasize the importance of maintaining healthy, intimate relations between couples, examples of real life situations make up a substantial part of this book. As Dr. Block puts it: "Love is an effect of loving behavior."

Well-written in everyday language, Main Street, tells the stories of real lives and lessons learned. It is as though you've shaken hands with the past, with just an extra squeeze on the end of that handshake.

This is a wonderfully illustrated book that introduces many new animals and words to the family. The relationship between mother and daughter are timeless in asking, "what if...would you still love me?"

I Highly recommend it.

Easier to use than some of the other marble "standards." It is well organized and the values, based on the condition of the marble, are with the marbles. Some of the other books have you constantly flipping from back to front to find a value. The different types of antique handmade marbles are logically grouped for the most part and the machine made marbles are divided by manufacturer.There is even a section with examples from contemporary marble artists. My one complaint would be that there should be an index to make finding of the great many types of machine made marbles easier. Until something better comes along, I carry this with me to auctions, flea markets, antique shows or anywhere else I think there might be an opportunity to buy, sell or trade marbles.
