Shake the dead moss off and come alive via Myss!
This fabulous lifesaving approach to healing can, and will, bring many people out of the virtual dark ,allowing them to take charge of their lives in a victom free environment, whereby they will emerge into a wholesome and responsible lifestyle, allowing their wildest dreams to be realized. The truth of our being cannot be found in a simple pill injested from the outer realm, as it is indeed an inner journey which must be embarked upon in order to heal completely. Horay for Caroline Myss, we need more brave sorts like her integrating into the medical field to plant seeds of change that will aid all concerned. This book is a joy, and I highly recommend her other books as major tools of self restoration. Kathleen Clancy.

It just doesn't get any better than this -selfawareness.
Are you seeking self-awareness? Have you wondered what does discipline precedes dominion mean? Have you just begun to comprehend that you always get what you ask for - you really do create your reality. If any one of these questions has ever made you stop and think - perhaps want to talk to someone about you thoughts ... then Carolin Myss's audio IS AN ABSOLUTE MUST. Thought provoking, easy to understand, funny and specific. It just doesn't get any better than this when it comes to your journey into self-awareness.

Writer on the Rocks: Moving the Impossible
Published in Paperback by About Time Press (November, 1999)

Amazon base price: $12.95

Linda Tatelbaum knows what happens when the words run out. She has hit "rock bottom" before:
When is a writer not like a rock? When she is lying, inert, on the floor. What you see is, objectively, a body at rest, not unlike the rock except for one thing: her mind, which, doubts. Does a rock think, Will I ever move again?
Rocks get the author to thinking. Her homestead in Maine is littered with them. For a while they don't mean much. Sure, they mark old boundaries and once impeded the progress of a vegetable garden, but not until a man in a pickup tries to make off with a few choice ones does Tatelbaum realize they're worth something. Working with rocks--moving them, using them--becomes her path back to words. In this sense, Writer on the Rocks is a book-length exercise in remembering how to write.

Tatelbaum is a lyrical correspondent from the rock-strewn edges of the American landscape; and while her digressive ruminations on aging, death, and the value of physical work will strike some readers as overly self-conscious, these frank, playful essays should inspire anyone building a stone wall or relearning the leverage of language.

So much heart!
This is a writer with so much heart! I wouldn't live off the land if you held a gun to my head, yet I was deeply inspired by this woman's life and work. Tatelbaum presents her unusual lifestyle--she's a longtime homesteader--as a metaphor for creativity: both its curses and its pleasures. A wonderful book, especially if you're a writer or painter or musician--someone who knows how hard it is to keep going in the face of rejection.

inspiring piece of writing
Linda Tatelbaum has a real gift with language- of taking the most mundane tasks of ordinary country life and transforming them into something that provides tremendous meaning and inspiration. The format of the book- much like a college curricula- is both stimulating and progressively enriching. One does not need to be a "homesteader" or "back to the lander" to appreciate the true meaning of "moving rocks"

Hundred Block Rocks
Never having had an interest in traditional poetry, Bud Osborn has opened my eyes to a new art form. He writes of (and for) people who've never felt safe: chronic drug-users, prostitutes, the mentally ill, and all other outcasts. His poetry encourages you to shed any prior conceptions you might have of "failures" and see how beautiful these people really are. These poems really touched me.

A few words from one of the contributors to this book
Because of the long lead times in book publishing, by the time this book went to press, the dot-com bust was happening, however much of the information in this book is still very relevant and applicable.

When I was asked to contribute, I was already predicting that there would be sweeping changes within the high-tech industry and choose my contributions accordingly, focusing on ERP, cross-platform databases and Internet security samples as areas that would continue to be relevant beyond the dot-com boom.

The advice given by Jay and Michael as well as all of my colleagues' samples in this book are highly polished and continue to be relevant models for any individual pursuing a career in high-tech, in my opinion.

Excellent Work
This book was very useful. The resume examples were helpful, but the best thing I saw was the tactical tips on how to use the resume, how to network, what to say, how to use career fairs and on-campus recruiting, alumni, etc. Gave me some good ideas. In fact, I did something in networking at a job fair that they wrote about in a case study that got me a good interview.

out with traditional, in with variety
Quilting designs in a large variety of variations with some traditional ones included all with great color samples. Included with the full size templates are shaded greys of the pattern for ease in chosing your own masterpiece. Twisting and twirling the log shapes gives some spectacular results. An easy method for piecing tops it off. Now I have to decide which one to try first. The way it's layed out makes each block a very do-able project. Good for beginners as well as the pros.

A wealth of interesting ideas
In recent years we have learnt that to understand our style thoroughly we have to go beyond our style; but in so doing we can find the effective self defence principles that were there all along. So practitioners of karate, tae kwon do, kung fu and so on are realizing that their kata and even basic kihon can make sense as self defence -in a way they never did as "traditionally" taught - if we have the eyes to see what they could be. Because at this stage in the evolution of our arts this is largely a process of reverse engineering, the sticking point is having the range of conceptual tools to see what the moves could be. Having trained with Rick Clark regularly on his seminars in the UK, I was always struck by how someone could show him some piece of kata from their style, and Rick could see immediately a number of interesting and worthwhile applications. He has taken that vision of his and inspected one of the most basic movements in many styles - the down block. What comes out is a wealth of ideas - just the inspiration the modern practitioner needs to understand his art. Any one person should reject many of the ideas and accept only a few for regular training, so that what they take fits in most coherently with what else they use for other movements in their kata etc. But each student will select something different, and so seeing a wide range of possiblities is invaluable for guiding one to create one's own personal self defence system. Presented here are many principles of jujutsu, arnis and kyusho jutsu applied to a simple move of karate, illustrating the fundamental unity of all styles. It's a book I will return to many times.
