Grand Slam Writing
What a story! What a Writer! This book puts the issue of abuse in perspective. For those of us who grew up in a "normal" home, this book is an eyeopener for the terrible things that go on behind the closed doors of an abusive family. Alcoholic father, nutty mother, a small rural southern town setting, and you have all the ingredients for a story like this to unfold. If you haven't read this book, you have missed a great opportunity to experience a world most of us never know. My only regret is that five stars is the highest score I can give this book.

A must read for people of all ages
This book gives an insightful treatment of what it is really like for a child to live in an abusive environment. Written in noval form, and based on a true story, this book centers on the growing up times of a little girl in the rural south. A drunkard for a father, and a religiously misguided mother set the stage for unspeakable acts of abuse; things no child should ever have to endure. If you chose to read this book, your life will never be the same.

Love It or Hate It
If you're a conservative investor searching for alternatives that don't involve gambling or sticking with the conventional wisdom of stock market investing you'll love this book. I've made some changes to my investments as a result of information I learned from reading this well researched book. It was actually entertaining as well! 5 Stars Loved It!

If you are a big company executive or a stockbroker you're going to hate this book. The author really rips into the big brokerage firms and corporations and how they take advantage of the little guy. If everyone practiced what was recommended in the book there would be a lot less left on the table for big business to glean from the small investor. 1 Star I'm sure they hate it!

A Different Approach
It seems that all the books on low risk investing emphasize picking good companies or funds and keeping them for a long period of time. Blind Faith is different.

I'd love to be stress or worry free but traditional Cd's and money markets pay so little and I certainly don't believe that corporate America has cleaned up its act. This book taught me another investment strategy and discussed in detail investments that I never heard of before like market-linked CDs.

I enjoyed the authors cynical approach and found the book to be entertaining as well as enlightening.

There is another way...
Finally, a book that speaks to concerns that I've had about investing since I read my first investment book but that no one seems to talk about.

The author covers topics that are taboo in most investment texts, such as how the investment industry is rigged against the individual investor (corporate structure, taxes, investment banks, government regulation, etc.), and what you can do to protect yourself from market risk. Diversification doesn't help when the whole market collapses after a catastrophic event like 9-11 or in a deep recession.

If you want to take advantage of up markets and hold onto your gains in down markets, then read this book.

Not Up To Her Usual Standards !
BLIND TRUST by Terri Blackstock was (I'm sorry to say) a major disappointment for me. Too many lose ends and at times even the flow was a bit rough and uneven. It just didn't flow too well with me. Sorry to say I couldn't finish this book.

Riveting
Terri Blackstock penned another winner with "Blind Trust," Page after page of this well written thriller draws and keeps you in the midst of a battle against the forces of evil. A gut-wrenching narrative that has you wondering just who are the good guys and who can you trust. A fabulous example of learning to 'let go and let God.' If you haven't read any of Terri Blackstock's novels buy one today and you will soon be a Blackstock fan.

Blind Trust
Wonderful book in a great series. A must read with the other books in this series. Will enjoy other books by Terri Blackstock as well such as Emerald Windows, Broken Wings, etc.

very poorly researched, poorly written.
I couldn't read more than one chapter. This book is very poorly researched and doesn't flow with much congruity. I am very disappointed in the lack of trust I found in the writing. I don't recommend this book to anyone.

Poorly written, even more poorly researched
This is undoubtedly one of the most poorly written books I have ever read. Being familiar with some of the key players in this story, I must also say it was extremely poorly researched. Mr. Benson got many simple facts wrong. Things which were mentioned numerous times in national publications, he got wrong. I seriously doubt if he devoted any time to checking his facts. The book is so awfully written that I found myself only able to read 2-3 pages in one sitting. The overuse of metaphors is nothing short of criminal. No wonder Mr. Benson had to self publish this atrocity.

Sad Commentary On Our Times
This is more than just the story of Enid Greene and JoeWaldholtz, this is the story of the Republican Party in the microcosmof their lives. The corruption behind Enid Greene Waldholtz's Congressional campaign isn't exceptional, it's the rule of Republican Party politics. She just got caught, and like all politicians, tried to blame a scapegoat (i.e., the suddenly "psychopathic" Joe).

I was living in Utah during this entire sordid episode, and Enid's blubbering television news conference changed nothing. The money stains were all over her fingers. Corruption is as corruption does.

Kids' Stuff
If you are looking for a souffle-light read,
'Blind Trust' should be at the top of your list.
But if it's a legal thriller you're after,
look elsewhere.

The writing in 'Blind Trust' can be described
as juvenile at best. The book seems like a
Mills & Boons wannabe, stereotyping silly
girlish infatuations with good-looking guys.
It is also peppered with some of the cheesiest
lines in print. Depending on the edition you
have, here are three of them (in quotations)...

PAGE 133 - When a character was pleased that
the lead character agreed with him, he began
"pumping his fist in the air".

PAGE 158 - When the lead character, who was
afraid of heights, looked down the window at
the coaxing of her HANDSOME boyfriend, he said,
"I knew you could do it. I am so proud of you!"

PAGE 333 - When the lead character was being
rescued from a crane, her friend shouted,
"Hang on, kiddo! You're doing great!"

'Kiddo'?!? Gawd, all the characters here are
GROWN UPS!

I finished the book in a desperate anticipation
of a twist. But none came. The bad guys' identities
were revealed right within the first few chapters
of the book, and... that's it.
No surprises, no twists.

This book will definitely make impressionable
girls below 12 very happy. For the rest of us adults,
STEER CLEAR!

Enjoyable
This book had my interest from the first page. My limited "free" time is spent reading but I didn't want to put this book down. Read it - You will like it !!

Catherine Saylor is a San Francisco detective with twelve years experience as a private investigator and ten years experience practicing Aikido. She is contacted by bank executive Daniel Martin who fears his bank's vulnerable computer system may be ripe for a $5,000,000 theft by missing key employee James Mendoza.

Catherine thinks the key to the mystery has its origin somewhere in the army experiences of Mendoza and his buddies in Vietnam. While tracking Mendoza to his hiding place in Colorado, she uncovers an elaborate plot of deception and the identity of the real villain.
