Migraines for 30 years, until reading this book!
This book is amazing! I had migraines for 30 years until reading this book. Over the years I tried every drug on the market, ending with Imitrex then Amerge. Even with Amerge I started half of all my days with a migraine. Now I have control over them and I no longer have them. Don't think that because you already eat well and are not overweight that the book won't help. I ate a good diet and wasn't overweight... I still had migraines and the book explained why. The Publishers Weekly review statement that "Their program, however, may seem too simplified and too general for longtime headache sufferers" is way off base! It's exactly what long term headache suffers need!

It really works
This is a very comprehensive book on headache prevention that ties togheter all the different lifestyle factors like food/nutrition, physical activity, and stress. And what is even better as that every tip and every strategy given by the authors to achieve a gradual lifesytyle modification actually works in practice.

My doctor was wrong!
My doctor always told me that nutrition had nothing to do with headaches. Was he wrong! I modified my diet as recommended in the book - less fat, less sugar, more complex carbos, etc. Two weeks later my headaches were gone; After all these years of suffering needlessly. I just could not believe the improvement. I am free ...

An excellent introduction to operating system principles
In this book, two respected Computer Scientists write about the logical design of operating systems, blending theoretical results and practical applications.

Probably the best aspect of the book is the fact that Bic and Shaw stress fundamental concepts, instead of using examples from specific operating systems like Unix. And although the book is rather old, the information in the Second Edition is very necessary today to the design of operating systems.

The book begins with elementary concepts, such as concurrent programming methods, the deadlock problem, and process scheduling and goes on to explore protection problems and various security issues. The exercises at the end of each chapter and the overall textbook style make it a must for the operating system student.

Paladin Press Strikes Again
Paladin Press, the controversial book publisher that has brought us such classics as "How To Kill" and "Get Even" (which is the kinder, gentler version of the former) has slithered its way into model rocketry.

Sure to put G. Harry Stine into a spin, and make Vern Estes spend some time strapped onto a heart monitor, this book seems to this reviewer to have two purposes: first, to really scare the crap out of ATF, second to make fun out of purists such as Estes.

Attractively packaged, as are most of Paladin's wares (don't ask how I know), this book starts with the bare essentials of model rocketry under the chapter "Principles of Operations" (ending with the warning "Always fire modified/explosive rockets from behind cover"). Farrel soon gets to the meat of the matter with Chapters such as "Improvised Missiles, Warhead Safety, Warhead Designs, Missile Plans". It ends with a farcical safety code entitled "Dangerous Rocket Club Code" which the author admits "If followed, you will probably go to prison". Check out the recovery part of the code: "I will spend at least twelve hours recovering after a heavy night of drinking before firing explosive-filled missiles".

Is this a recommendation? Hardly. While Farrel does writes most of this book with a healthy sense of humor, it could be construed that this book is more than a joke by some parties. The bombing devices seem sound, and could cause damage. The real danger is, and all of us in this hobby knows this, is that model rockets are notoriously unstable, and unpredictable. Even if you didn't blow up your house (or a few of your fingers) making one of these "warheads", you could blow up your neighbors (or their homes) flying one of these crazy things.

Try this book for a twisted change
As a longtime rocket enthusiast, I have often wondered how missile payloads were constructed. The meat of this book is approximately ten pages of warhead schematics. But don't take this book too seriously, it is a tongue-in-cheek slap at the model rocketry hobby. Those of you who have heard the Model Rocketry Safety Code just one too many times will enjoy the "Dangerous Rocket Club Code" which had me rolling off my chair! I do recommend that you have one thing before buying this book- an intact sense of humor!

Useful Tool
This book was quite useful in constructing rockets

Chocked full of useless information!
Wordy and often times confusing, this book is basically useless as an engineering reference. It was far overpriced for the quality of material presented.
