AMAZING Reading Tool!My daughter graduated from reading 3-letter words to reading independently by going through Nora Gaydos's 4 volumes. The progression of each book helped her gain confidence and the brilliant and colorful illustration lends to children developing their own insight into the story. The length is just right so children are never too tired to complete the whole book.
The stickers are also a great motivational tool. My daughter always feels such a sense of accomplishment when she finishes off the stickers for each book.
The only thing the series lacks is the availability of additional stickers so younger siblings can enjoy the process of learning to read too.

Good Fun!Font Counts! Importantly, the FONT used in the book corresponds to the letter forms children use when learning to write. (For example, the "a" in the font I'm writing in is not the form used in Kindergarten printing lessons where lower-case "a" looks like a circle stuck to a stick.) The use of a "child-friendly" font enables us to reinforce classroom writing lessons by having our child copy the text of the corresponding "Now I'm Reading -- Animal Antics" book into her note pad. In this way she is building corresponding reading and writing skills at the same time.
Recommended Improvement. One opportunity for improving this set does exist --provide an index/inventory in the Parent Guide of the "Skills in this story" list now found at the back of each book. Such an index/inventory up front expedites the process of linking school lessons to the appropriate book. For example, when our child's classwork is focusing on "a,and,to, in, no, is, the" we work with book 5 "Wet Legs" that covers those words. (We made our own index/inventory by copying each of the 10 lists of skills to the back cover of the Parent Guide.)

To tell the truth? This book teaches kids how it is better to tell the truth and not to lie no matter what they have done. It is a great lesson to me learned and I suggest it for any child!

The Berenstain Bears Meet Santa Bear
The Berenstain Bears Meet Santa BearI reccomend this book to any child who is havinbg a want problem. The point of this story is don't be greedy. This is for children 5-8 yrs. of age.
Two days after the events of "Prize Pumpkin"...Eventually, Sister gets a little too carried away and makes her Christmas list a mile long. Brother explains that Santa's probably gonna think she's greedy. Sister worries about that and the times she hasn't been good. She then learns from Brother and the parents that Santa doesn't expects kids/cubs to be perfect. Then Brother tells her that presents for parents is the kids' jobs. So they get out their money and Sister shortens her list.
While visiting Santa and buying presents for their parents, Sister can't help but wonder... what Calvin wonders about Santa in "Calvin and Hobbes". By the end, Sister (and the readers) learns the true meaning of Christmas.
Bloopers and Plot Holes: I guess Stan and Jan had the artists make names for the bear-hug teddy, the pink pony, and the RC robot.
Just curious... shouldn't Papa look a little embarressed when Mama says "Calm and sensible, eh?"
Hey, how much did those gifts cost?
Also, this book has a wonderful break down of the number of battleships in service by a decade breakdown from 1900 to 2000. The USA had 30 Battleships in service during 1910. We only had 23 in service in 1945. It was 0 in 1960.
This is a good value for the money. I build Battleshps. So, I needed a quick reference. I have been happy with the purchase.
So, fellow Battleship fan, this book is worth your money.
