A Rare and Fantastic Book
Whether you are Buddhist or not, this book will be a rare gem. Here are some reasons I would own this book :

1) Rare and beautiful pictures on the most sacred place in the world

2) Learn something about the mysterious Tibetan Buddhism

3) Words of Wisdom (I mean real Wisdom, in condensed form) throughout the pages would awake you and set you contemplating

This is a great memoir on one of the greatest spiritual teacher that takes the reader on the journey of history and geography, culture and tradition, religion and philosophy. With or without realising it, you are learning the most important lesson in life, with enjoyment.

If there was a book that kept you awake till 3.00am in the morning (of course it depends on what time you started reading), this is it!

Inspiring visual portrait of devotion in Tibet
An astonishingly beautiful photographic essay of the life of one of Tibet's greatest lamas of this century. Khyentse Rinpoche was a teacher of the present Dalai Lama and of many other high lamas whose sparkling wisdom and warm compassion shine through even in photos. The author Matthieu Ricard is an ordained monk in the Tibetan tradition. He recently accompanied Khyentse Rinpoche on a trip to Tibet. The photographs in this book document the trip in a most vivid portrayal of a living Tibetan culture. It is amazing to see how glorious was the greeting given to this renowned lama upon his return to Tibet. We are treated to a pictorial feast of rites, costumes and throngs of devoted welcomers. The accompanying text tells not only the story of this wonderful trip but also of the life and teachings of Khyentse Rinpoche, the profound influence of which can be felt just by browsing the pages.

A wry comic classic
H.F. Ellis' Papers of .J. Wentworth, BA is a wry comic classic which presents the 'letters' of an unmarried teacher who comments on education, teaching methods, and obstinate pupils. A fun gift for any who appreciates humor, literature and the perils of teaching.

For Lovers of English Humor
H. F. Ellis' book is a true classic of written English humor. His work compares favorabily with the work of Jerome K. Jerome and P.G. Wodehouse. Ellis' dry sense of humor and excellent use of language makes this one of the funniest books I've read in a long time. At first, seeing the snooty pretensioness of schoolmaster A.J. Wentworth constantly pricked and deflated is hysterical, but before long you'll be on his side and saying aloud between the laughs "Poor, poor chap!"

Quick and Easy Medical Terminology

Excellent as a teacher and a resource
I used this text for an online course in medical terminology and was more than satisfied with the results. The author structured the book in such a way that it appeals to all learning styles--visual, auditory (using the audio CD or tape), and even movement (using the accompanying CD interactive exercises). Programmed learning is employed by the author and is a very effective way of teaching this "new language." I would recommend this book to anyone entering the allied health fields.

_Quick and Easy_ Does It
I once knew a fellow who told me that he spoke only eleven *modern* languages fluently. When he told me, I wished that I could touch his hand and what he knew would osmose to me.

Of course learning a new language is not that easy. And except for the fact that one does not have to learn a new grammar, learning a new terminology is the same. It takes *work*. What can make these learning processes easier is having a teacher who knows how to organize the material so that learning associations come more readily.

There's no osmosis. Peggy Leonard does an outstanding job of organizing the material so that one can most easliy learn medical terminology. _Quick and Easy_ does it.

Red, fresh and yet delicious
Lady Mcbeth said it well: " Nor even all the parfumes of arabia, can clean this little hands..."

in other words,

Buy this wonderfull book. Be drunk with royal blood.

Simply marvelous
It was a wonderful retelling of a medieval tale. The illustrations were quite detailed, though some would find the blood and gore a bit disturbing.

While the armour is not correct for the period, it does not detract from the overall atmosphere.

Time Is Short and the Water Rises, Operation Gwam Ba: The Story of the Rescue of 10,000 Animals from Certain Death in a South American Rain Forest

Time Is Short and the Water Rises
A heartwarming true story told the way it happened by the man who lived the event. Sometimes sad, other times humorous, always touching, a book to read over and over again. Conducting a massive animal rescue operation in the middle of a rain forest, John Walsh proved it could be done and in the process taught an unknown concept to the bushnegroes he worked with - That instead of thinking of the capybara or the tapirs as the next meal, it was not time for the animals to die. It was not right to kill them for food now. A book every animal lover should read.

A memorable book
I read this book as a teenager (some 20+ years ago) and it has always stuck with me. John Walsh describes, in great and interesting detail, life in the Amazon Rain Forest as lived by scientists who were sent there to rescue 10,000 animals that live in an area that is being turned in to a lake by the building of a dam. This book is gripping and helps the reader both understand the trials faced by the scientists as well as the urgency of their work in the face of the ever rising water. I recommend this book for anyone who enjoys adventure reading. Now that I have a teenager of my own - I have ordered it for him!

Hero - Moody
Surely one of the great unsung books of aviation. Eric Moody is a hero and his actions are explained in great detail here.

Simple enough for the layman to understand, and engaging for the professional alike - you really get the feeling of what it's like to be on that warm dark flightdeck miles above the earth when the unthinkable happens.

That he was 'just doing his job' is testament alone to this humble man.

Prof. Wallace Does It Again
"The Bridge of Quiescence" is an excellent detailed discussion of the basic meditation technique of all schools of Buddhism, and even some non-Buddhist approaches. "Quiescence" refers to tranquility meditation, a way to attain a stabilized mind. The "Bridge" part of the title refers to the role of "restful attention" as a necessary basis for further spiritual development. The central chapter offers a translation from Tsongkhapa of the Gelungpa School of Tibetan Buddhism. This could be a tough slog but Wallace provides his own very helpful interpretation, sometimes making reference to Western psychology. So this book is definitely not an introductory text. But for those with some familiarity with meditation in general and Tibetan Buddhism in particular, you'll benefit immensely.

Company Law which enhanced my ACCA studies.
Before I joined the ACCA (foundation stage) studies in the Singapore Variant Legal framework paper, I really do not have any idea about it. It was because I was being transferred to the Legal framework due to a miscommunication by the school therefore I go about scouting for necessary enhancement in Law. Fortunately, I found this book which is on U.K. Company Law but all the cases cited are really comprehensive. I am really grateful! Next monday I will be sitting for the examinations and really hope that the books I bought will help me in my attempt.

Good book, but description is misleading
Full of useful information, however, the description neglects to let the reader know that the book was written on the Criminal Justice System for England and Wales, not the United States.
