A Challenging Call to be a 1st Generation PrayerRon Auch's book on prayer issues a very strong challenge for Christians and particularly Christians leaders to know God through prayer. Auch attributes much of the decline in the Pentecostal church to the lack of meaningful prayer by pastors and leaders in the denomination. He discusses his generational theory regarding prayer and the move of God. The 1st generation are those who experienced the move of God, having understood prayer and having a real relationship with God. Following generations benefit from the previous move of God, but do not develop their own prayer relationships with God. Therefore, they miss out on the dynamic aspect of God's presence resulting in the church's current decline. Auch goes on to present how the Pentecostal denomination should seek to regain the presence of God. His writing is very appropriate for the entire Christian church which overall seems to lack the power and presence of God.

This book is so sad but goodi LOVE THIS BOOK. In the beginning jeanette is really upset about you know what. she keeps saying that she needs proof that bill was a crazy killer. so neil (her new boyfriend) an her go down to austin where bill said he lived. jeanette an neil discover the most bone chillin things about bill some of them are even when Bill Jeanette an Neil were just kids. I dont want to ruin the book for but neil is hiding a big secret that you'll just have to read for yourself. Any way the ending is kinda sad if you believe in romance. I highly reccomend this book to people who love action suspense an little romance.

A murder mystery that probes the heart, and the problem.A mystery buff, I find the Edgar award a strong clue toward a satisfying writer. Thomas Adcock, a recent winner, fits that catagory to a T. "Thrown-Away Child" , his new book, is strong, violent and at the same time a probing story of the "lost boys" whose pain translates into much of the agony we see in our streets today (and in our prisons) With subtlety and insight, Adcock takes us to the heart of the family - Hockaday's newly acquired inlaws -who are New Orleans African-American; the "father of us all" - Joe Never Smile; and Neil's beloved mother-in-law ,Violet. The "Shamrock" Irish-American NYPD detective, Hockaday, finds himself working a murder in the center of New Orleans, tracing the terrorist group - MOMS (they brand their victims with those letters) , while gaining insight into himself and the racism which fuels the flames of our urban hells. "What's worse: living with a bad conscience, or knowing the peace of mind that comes from being hanged for what you done?" The dialogue is tasty. A joy of a book

To Take Away The HurtOne line stands out for me in To Take Away The Hurt by Flavia Weedn. It is "Sadness and emptiness are difficult to bear, but that which brings us sadness has once brought us joy." This is the essence of this beautiful little book. Flavia has found the silver lining in the worst of situations and shows us that heartache challenges us all to grow through the love and lives of others.

A good teen romanceThis book is about someone that I can relate to. A young lady who loves to ride horses and she finds herself in an unfamilar situation conserning love, in many formes of the word. Love between herself and her father and love between herself and Jake. It touches on many aspects of being a teenager. For example being in love, in school and life in general. It also has a sence of reality, simply because the problems that accure are problems that everyone has when they are in love for the first time. Great book. I will read it over and over again.

Take this book home!I liked the weird people who lived with Nick's aunt and have names like Rode Kool and OK Sunbeam and the place where all of them live which is called "Happiness Far" (It was a farm and the m fell off the sign.) Also how Nick and his girlfriend find a way to get into houses where nobody lives that are up for sale and hang out there. There was also interesting things that Nick wrote about his habit of walking like at one time everything in the world was in walking distance, since it had to be, since people only walked. This was fun to read but made you think, too.
Sam didn't mind the feel of Charlotte in his arms. But a fleeting dizzy spell wasn't going to change her demanding, drill-sergeant approach to the renovation of the condos. She epitomized all the list-making and order-taking he'd tolerated during his twenty years of military service. Now that he was retired, nothing---not even beautiful Charlotte---was going to drag him back into the regimentation he'd escaped.
Charlotte's career depended on the renovation of every unit in Safe Harbor. Sam flatly refused to repair his half of the condos. With all she had at stake, how could Charlotte be swept away by a stubborn, infuriating beach bum!
