Great book in Newfoundland!
I think this is an excellent Canadian book and I really like Andrea's character. I haven't been to Newfoundland but the practice of mummering has always been interesting to me. I hope Claire Mowat will write some more books like this.

Great info about moving from lethargy to happy strength.
Lucky me found this book at a book sale. I found the book so true, so down-to-earth, so free of opinion and dogma and theory, that I actually followed a number of practices described by the author. They worked terrifically well. So well, in fact, that I came in here tonight to see what else she may have written. It seems to me that anyone who realizes they always seems to be in the same place, in spite of the fact they always want to get out of it, will appreciate the info and attitudes offered by this book.

I have worked with this book successfully for 10 years!
I'm sorry this is out of print because GAS is the only self-help book that has hit home for me to the point where I have used it successfully--for myself and as a therapist-- at various points in my life since I got it 10 years ago. It is simple, true, easy to follow and it works.

A must-have book for leaders!
This book is very informative. It gives step-by-step directions, and lots of suggestions for leaders of small groups. It shows how to grow your group and how to get others to help. A key step is to give the ministry (or vision and responsibility) away to your leadership team who will help you to fulfill the ministry. It changed my way of leadership and helped my singles ministry to grow tremendously, both with a small group of less than 15, and later with a larger group of 50.

Winderful, fun, imaginative reading for my almost 3 year old
This is a great book. My daughter and I just happened to run asross this book in the authors local Middlebury, Vermont book store where she was having a signing the following week. We sat in the book store and read this fun little adventure of a book and loved it from the start. We purchased it and left it there for the auther to sign. A little over a week later we were the very proud owners of a signed copy of this work of art. We have made it a tradition of when we travel we like to purchase a book by a local author. What better souvenir could we ask for. We also like someone, be it the author or friends we visited to sign it. That reminds us of our adventures forever. My daughter can pass these wonderful books down to her childern. Books are truly timeless. Thank you very much. Love. the Halloween Red Head

Read It - Just For The Health of It!
"Go Away: Just For The Health of It" is a wonderful book for true travellers and arm-chair travellers alike! It is very easy to read and Mel Borins has really put into perspective how easy it is to become so "involved" in the everyday that we don't take the time to stop and evaluate the important things in life.

This book is filled with very funny, interesting and insightful stories about Dr. Borins' actual travel experiences as well as the experiences of his patients, family and friends.

An excellent addition to any one's list of books to read - for yourself or as a gift!

BUY IT - Just for the health of it!!
