Valuable material from a man of SUCCESS
There are not that many books on this specialized subject, so this is a very valuable one to have on hand.

How to set and collect fees. How to build a consulting business that will allow you to be your own boss.

I especially liked these chapters: Uncommon Opportunities in Forensic Consulting, A Crash Course in Safety Engineering that can Save Your Neck; How to Expand Your Profit Opportunities in Consulting; How to Locate/Size Up/Sell and Keep Clients; Preparation, Involvement and Good Habits that Assure Success; Now is the Best of Times to be a Consulting Engineer or Scientist.

SEIDEN heads The Seiden Group, has a B.S. in Mechanical Engineering and a M.S. in Industrial and Management Engineering from the Columbia School of Engineering and Applied Science. He spent 15 years in industry with Worthington Corporation, Crane Company, ITT, and Hazeltine Corporation before founding his own firm.

Time To Bury Mr Benson.
I was never a fan of John Preston's "classic" work because I thought the characters were broad and unrealistic, the situations silly and the stereotypes contemptible. Like most fantasy books about D/s relationships, the main characters seem completely removed from life as we know it. What about the usual day to day, like jobs and family? Cleaning the catbox? Laundry? Cooking? The kind of things that real Dominant and submissives do in real time?

Enter Master Terry Andrews and submissive/potential slave Matt Stone. One night, after a very hot encounter, these two men begin a courtship by collar. Terry begins to look at a bottom he considered a gadabout player in a whole new light, and Matt begins a journey in which he has to understand what his urges mean and if they are true to him. Where in most stories, these issues would resolve inside a chapter or two, for "Carried Away" the characters each have to probe what their instincts demand. What will this kind of relationship do to their lives, and not just a fast lane romp, but for a long-term future?

For those reasons alone, "Carried Away" would set itself apart from the pack. Yet there's more. Author david stein infuses the novel with rich detail of the New York scene and the social activities that the city entertains. You get a well fleshed out background for the how and whys of Matt and Terry's actions and emotions. This is a novel in the old fashioned sense; a lengthy story with a well plotted sequence of events. And make sure you remember that this isn't a sex novel as much it's a heavily romantic novel which incorporates sex. Lots of sex. To the point that it becomes one of "Carried Away's" foreground characters instead of a background activity. After all, this is a leather love story.

The backgrounds themselves are described in the matter a masculine bottom would see them and not like an interior decorator. The words daub the spaces with color and detail without distracting from the plot, something usually missing in homomasculine writing. Mr. stein obviously loves these words. Everything from the steaming heat to the emotional tumult is given equal ebb and flow in "Carried Away." Not a phrase is wasted or situation shorted. Threads woven into the story come to realistic conclusions. And it's very important to note that in "Carried Away" nothing seems implausible. Not the sex, the kink, or the emotions of the main characters. I'll grant you that this kind of attention to detail makes for a hefty volume (this is no quickie read or any sort of flick-through book), but when was the last time you had a modern leather story that could satisfy both your lower gonads, frontal lobes and central heart in equal parts?

David Stein has gifted us with the most realistic, imaginative, and thoughtful Gay Erotic Leather novel that I have ever read. It may have taken him ten years to complete, but the literary bar has been "Carried" to a higher level.

Simply Brilliant.... A Five Star Screenplay....
Broyles script is a brillant work in script and structure. I would highly recommend to those who are fans of the movie, to read the script as a companion. The introduction was also very insightful, and left me with an even greater love for the film after reading the shooting script.

A great study for film students in wanting to examine complex structure, with a perfectly formated character and story progression.

Review of Castor's Away
Hester Burton's forte is English Historical fiction, written for young adults. Her research is impeccable and she has the ability to get inside the minds of the young people living through an intense and important time in history, telling what they were thinking and feeling, and how they met the challenges with courage and integrity.
Castor's Away is about the battle of Trafalgar during the Napoleonic wars and features the Henchman family: the father, who is a family doctor, his wife, and their three children. The family has come to spend some of the summer holidays with their aunt, who lives on a farm near the sea. After a great storm the children find a soldier who was washed ashore from a transport ship which was wrecked by the storm. The other soldiers had been rescued, but this one was apparently dead, so no one had attempted to rescue him. The children run for their father, who gently examines the soldier and when he detects a warmth about the soldier's heart and he decides to try to resussitate him. They carry the soldier back to the farmhouse kitchen, and using a kitchen bellows, warm cloths, and hours of pressing on his chest and lifting his arms to expell the air, the soldier actually revives. The whole family is deeply touched by this miracle that they have been privileged to participate in, and the young man himself is endearing. To their horror, when his regiment captain comes to reclaim him, they find that he is charged with being drunk on duty and sentenced with 200 lashes, which in his weakened condition, will surely kill him. The Doctor pleads for his life, and the injustice of sentencing a man so harshly when he has just been revived, especially as he believes that the soldier is mischarged. The captain is adamant in position, and refuses to consider the Doctor's requests. The children are determined to rescue their soldier. This they manage to do, with some surprising results.
This book is well written, fast paced, sometimes intense, and based on an actual event in history, although the children themselves are created by the author.

BE INSPIRED, BE VERY INSPIRED
Adrian Plass, well-known Christian writer and speaker in the UK, presents a funny and poignant series of poems and observations on modern work, home life, and church. His style is vivid, original, and down-to-earth, and his attitude is as humble as it is honest. He is an imperfect man, but he loves people and they love him back. He is the first to see the humour in any situation, even when the laugh is on him, and never fails to be thought provoking. His themes, among others, are: family life, living up to our image, not letting go of our dreams, and the value of books. He inspires me and I recommend him as a tonic.

(This book may be currently out-of-print in the USA but is available in the UK.)

A delightful peek into a child's imagination
An enchanting look at what goes on in a young girl's imagination during a perfectly ordinary trip to the beach with her parents. The story is in the pictures rather than in the text, which puts the young readers in charge of the story. A delightful book!

socially aware, inclusive, and sensitive to spiritual needs
"Come Away With Me" has lyrics with striking language that tugs at the mind as well as at the heart. The lyrics to "As Rachel Mourned her Children will not leave a dry eye as it explores the reasons why humanity tolerates child abuse. Another text speaks of Jesus who asks us to be not slaves or servants but a friend. Text after text reveals thoughtful and timely words relating our lives to Christian spirituality. Another gift of this volume is the music. John Horman, the composer of the tunes, has found singable and memorable music. Yet they have a modern sound with a hint of jazz chords. I really enjoyed reading and singing through this collection and look forward to bringing these to life at First Presbyterian Church in Scottsbluff, Nebraska.
