Solid & Easy To Read

I thought this's a very "typical" academic text book with lots of complex and head-spinning algorithms pointing you to nowhere. And, I was wrong.

Truly, I'm impressed. This book not only fills with rich contents on electronic payments and case studies, but also it's well written in a simple, easy-to-read style. For people like me who wants to know more about payment technologies in electronic commerce, you will find this book very helpful. In general, this book is divided into two parts. The first part covers the fundamental knowledge on security infrastructure, like basic security, cryptography, digital signatures, authentication, PKI, as well as smart cards, biometrics usage in electronic commerce. The second part gets you to the heart of various e-payment systems, like digital cash, digital checks, SET, credit card payment, and micropayments, etc. For each e-payment systems, the book depicts the protocols to help readers to understand the overall process. It addresses the pros and cons. It shows some case studies in real life application scenarios such as Octopus Card in Hong Kong, Visa Cash, and PayPal, etc. For advanced readers, lots of leads can also be found from the reference page for further readings. Overall, this is no doubt an excellent book on electronic payment technologies. Very solid!

An adequate quick reference guide to bioterrorism.

As a graduate public health and microbiology student in Washington, DC, I encountered this book and several others proclaiming themselves guides to chem and biowarfare response - most failed at providing clear and valid recommendations. This work, however makes sound recommendations and gives professionals and students alike the knowledge necessary to make quick decision in the event of a bioterrorist attack. The information in this work is laid out in a succinct fashion for each agent, and does not burden the reader with anything other than vital, relevant information. Having extensively researched Ebola virus and smallpox during my bioterrorism class and then checking the PDR's recommendations, I realized that this work is up to speed with modern research and translates the findings into practical, reasoned explanations and recommendations for identification, treatment, and containment in the field and beyond. An absolute must-have for the prepared citizen, firemen, EMT, public health student or professional, and health professionals alike.

This book is a dream come true for OTs who work independently or whose work environments are so busy there's little time for asking questions. This book is thorough, easy to read and answered a LOT of my modality questions. I'd recommmend it for any OT working in physical rehab.

VERY comprehensive and up-to-date review using evidence-based information. Better for a PT class than a PTA class...but extremely useful as an instructor. I used while practicing as an instant reference. A+++ Very fast ship!

Physical Agents Theory and Practice was a required text for PTA school. It really simplifies therapeutic modalities to a level which is understandable. It is a great reference when you have questions about parameters for treatment and the benefits and effects of these treatments.

This is an amazingly useful book for medical students
Helpful Votes: 1 out of 1 total.

It provides a clear and concise explanation of cardiac electrophysiology, with clinical correlations of arrhythmias and the drugs used to treat them. It also has sections on ischemic heart disease, congestive heart failure and a number of related subjects. I always had problems with electrophysiology especially, and was completely bewildered by arrhythmias until I found this book. The only down side is that it may or may not be detailed enough in the nitpicky things that certain professors like to test on, but used in conjunction with class notes, it's a gem. It is a very well-written introduction to and overview of heart function and dysfunction.
