A fascinating read about today's internet driven world and the young turks behind the wheel. I thought the book might be a bit too statistical, but it was not at all. Nickles explains the behavior and psychology of the new technology-fluent generation and their far-reaching influences, from traditional corporate environments to culture changing dot coms like wedding planners and on-line magazines. A lot of intellegence gathering research went into the book, but it is presented in an enjoyable, anecdotal fashion.

amazing research

I did not read the whole book, which was quite technical.
There was a section describing the nerve agent soman, and the separation of its four stereoisomers by capillary gas chromatography. There was also research described in which the four stereoisomers were separated and had their individual toxicities determined in animals. This section was fascinating and its contemplation gave me the shivers to think of the danger involved handling this dreadful poison.
One thing I would criticize( as a neophyte in this area of research) is the constant use of acronyms. A glossary would be very helpful.
I noticed one error : the authors characterized dieldrin and aldrin as organophosphates, which they are not.

Best Chemical Warfare book for health care profs
Helpful Votes: 2 out of 2 total.

This, in my view , is the best book on the subject. It combines extensive discussion of the history of these agents, reviews of the physics of agent dispersal, and extensive discussion of both basic pharmacology and pricipals of treatment.
Any physician involved in preparation for these agents should have this book. Please note, this is not a basic or public interest book, but a serious scientific review.

I am working on getting my Realtor license and I got this book so that I can study and make test taking less frightning. So far this has been a great review of all the material I learned in my class. It also has been very helpful with preparing me for multi-choice questions that can be very tricky. In the back there is a good size section exclusively for math review that I am also very pleased with.

It represents a unique, well-organized, and comprehensive refernce on the clinical pharmacokinetics and pharmacodynamics of anticancer agents in common use, which is information that is not readily available from other sources. This book fills a critical gap in the existing literature on the pharmacology of anticancer agents and it is a welcome and overdue addition to the field.....Each chapter is individually authored by international experts....It is of immense usefulness to clinicians, clinical researchers, pharmaceutical scientists, oncology nurses, pharmacists, basic pharmacologists, and, of course, clinical pharmacologists....Chris H. I just earned my real estate sales agent certification in New York state, and I found this book to be EXTREMELY helpful! The agents and brokers in my office are always too busy to show me the ropes, so I decided to teach myself. This was the best resource for me on all aspects of real estate sales, and it was very easy to read and understand. Many of the scenarios discessed here haven't come up for me yet, but I know that when I try to close a tough deal, I'll turn back to this book again and again.

Financing Civil War blockade running
Helpful Votes: 0 out of 0 total.
Review Date: 2008-12-29
First a disclosure: I am the editor of this volume.

This biography of Confederate financial agent Colin McRae is now offered in an expanded 2008 edition which includes archival documents, correspondence and accounting records that illustrate how this man was instrumental in the financial management of the Southern States during the Civil War. Arnold (Texas A&M U.) has easily doubled Davis' original 1960 text, adding more insight into how McRae used blockade running along the Trans-Mississippi coast to shore up financial strength in order to fight the war. Written for Civil War history buffs and students, this book contains plenty of photographs of the original documents and correspondence. Distributed by Eliot Werner Publications. Denbigh Shipwreck Project Publication No. 4.
