"Erotic Morality" provides a welcome balance to the traditional mind oriented, Cartesian system that has dominated academic thought in the fields of psychology, religion, and ethics for far too many years. Linda Holler eloquently restores the value of sensual experience to serious dialogues about ethical behavior and by doing so speaks to modern issues of alienation, violence, and dis-ease. This book is a must read for anyone seeking to experience the totality of life and establish ethical relationships with others.

I read this book at the very beginning of my adoption research and it was an enormous help. It covers domestic, open and int'l adoption and has a great reference section. By the time I finished reading it, it looked like an old phone book, full of highlighted paragraphs, underlines and notes in the margins! It is an excellent book if you are just beginning the process, and have no idea of where to begin. I was clueless when I bought it, and now I have a beautiful daughter from Russia and this book really helped me get there.

This book is one of those books that I call benchmarks. In case you have to search for certain specific issues on the environmental issues of Europe, here is your dictionary. The breakdowns are incredible detailed and interesting. You will be able to find everything from soil pollution to aquaculture...

Brian Crozier asks a fascinating question. The covert 'war in the shadows' between freedom and slavery is generally presented as a clash between governments: during the Cold War, it was NATO and the West versus the Soviet Union and the Warsaw Pact; CIA versus KGB; MI6 versus GRU. But why? Why couldn't there also be a private-sector organization, a collection of free agents, doing what the Free World's governments couldn't or wouldn't do?

That forms the basis of this fascinating book, part history, part autobiography, about Crozier's efforts, and those of his allies, to undermine and destroy international socialism on a private-sector basis.

Crozier is a journalist and political scientist, but also an experience intelligence hand and long-time advisor to governments. Motivated in part by Western spy agencies' bureaucratic incompetence, their penetration by Soviet moles, and their governments' 'own goals' and shortsighted legislative restrictions, Crozier struck out on his own. This book is chock-full of stories of disinformation campaigns, subversive tricks, and spy-versus-spy maneuvers that rank, in my mind, with some of the best of Ludlum or Le Carré. Conservatives will also enjoy the eyewitness portraits of Reagan and Thatcher in action.

Very highly recommended to any student of espionage or the Cold War, or any fan of spy fiction.

Going through the college admissions process last year, I got so sick of reading advice books by old, jaded admissions officers. Not only were they dry, but they were too cold and calculated in their advice for getting in to the top schools.

The Guide to Getting In, however, is completely different. It was written by a group of funny and talented Harvard undergrads (actually from the same group that writes Let's Go, I think). They tell you all the important facts you need to know to get through the admissions process, but in a way that is enjoyable to read. I actually found myself laughing out loud during certain chapters, which is pretty impressive for a college admissions book.

My only criticism would be that it lacks some of the admissions office inside info that a few other books offer. I would recommend getting The Guide to Getting In, along with A is for Admission, or another similar title.

If you are trying to fund raise for a non profit organization like a mosque, synagogue or church the lessons in this book may be very applicable.

In summary the book explains how to set up a fund raising board, what sacrifices the leaders of the fund raisers need to make to stay involved and a variety of successful strategies depending on the audience you're working against.

The one liner: "Do I raise a million dollars from one person or a dollar from a million people?"
