An In-Depth Look Into A&M Records
These two books are an impressive undertaking in itself. Inside you'll find the listing of every record ever made and distributed by A&M Records, the label created by trumpeter Herb Alpert and business partner Jerry Moss. A&M became the largest independent label, as well as a reputation of being the class of all record companies. The artist roster itself is most impressive. This book details every recording, from matrix number, formats, year of release, catalog number, etc. It lists albums, singles, CDs, tapes and video releases. It also notes TV appearances of A&M artists, bibliographies and birthdates. Also included are the many affiliated labels that were distributed through A&M (CTI, Horizon, Ode, just to name a few). Also listed are songs from the main publishing arm of A&M - Almo/Irving Music. About the only thing you won't find in here is what the artists eat for breakfast! This is an astonishing piece of work, and should be a must for fans of A&M Records. After going through these books I did find myself frustrated at one thing - I thought I had all that was available of artists such as Herb Alpert, but reading these books makes me realize I still have some searching to do, especially going through the second volume, which lists foreign releases of A&M artists. It's easy to lose yourself in this collection, and it brings back wonderful memories of artists who are no longer with us.

Finally a reasonably priced - GOOD - merchant's guide!
In the burgeoning industry of affiliate marketing, it's refreshing to see a publication that provides a wholesome recipe, without a ludicrous price tag. Shawn and Frank talk straight from the trenches and have done a marvelous job conveying a wealth of useful information. Merchants who wish to explore a revenue sharing business model would do well to absorb this book. Those who already have an affiliate program in place should use it as a barometer of their success. I feel so strongly about the quality of this book that we are including a copy, by default, in our membership package at AffiliateFORCE.com Herby Olschewski, Chairman & CEO, AffiliateFORCE.com

A Must For Every Affiliate
After reading this new book by Frank Fiore and Shanwn Collins, I was extremely impressed by the amount of valuable information that I encountered. This book may have been written with the merchants in mind, but I consider it a must for any affiliate that wants to learn about this new industry.

The Bible of Affiliate Marketing Books
If you're in the Affiliate business, or want to be, you must read this book. Can you become a priest without reading the Bible? Probably not. So why do you think you can be a successful Affiliate Marketer without reading THE book on the subject?

Since I'm in the Affiliate Marketing Industry, I carry this book around with me everywhere I go with my laptop and business cards, just in case I need a reference or idea. Albiet a bit outdated by now, it is still the definitive piece of material on the matter.

A Good Place To Start
I have to say that I had high hopes for this book. However, once I received it, I was dissappointed. Everything that is in this book can be found on the Internet.

While this book does provide a lot of information, if you have researched Affiliate Selling at all...anywhere else...you probably already know what's in this book.

Having said that, if you are looking for a place to start to learn about Affiliate Selling, this may be it. This book is written for the person who knows absolutlely nothing about Affiliate Selling. It goes over places to sign up with and defines what Affiliate Selling is.

An All-Encompassing Perspective of Affiliate Marketing!
Helmstetter and Metivier offer an all-encompassing perspective of the affiliate marketing industry in their book Affiliate Selling. Readers are introduced to a number of marketing concepts, strategies, and companies that will get them results. Readers will learn from some of the best people in the industry, including Amazon.com, one of the premier models of online affiliate marketing today!

Merchant companies large and small have set up elaborate partnerships with linking companies and others to market their products and services. Bags, books, clothing, computers, flowers, food, music CD's, and toys are among the more popular items marketed through referral programs today. Readers will learn about affiliate marketing companies who make a living by bringing merchant companies and individual Website operators, companies, and organizations together. BeFree, LinkShare, and Commission Junction are some of the leading affiliate solution providers cited in the book that readers should know about.

The readers of this book will learn how they can enhance the value of their Websites by linking with merchants offering products and services directly related to their own Website objectives. Consider a pet store owner linking up with a respected brand of high quality, high-protein dog food. Travel agencies can team up with manufacturers and distributors of name brand travel bags and luggage sets. A book reviewer could link up with an online book dealer to provide quick sales and delivery of books to his readers at substantial savings over traditional methods of buying books!

This book offers a great amount of technical help to business operators and Web developers by demonstrating how easy it is to set up effective Web page links. Banners, graphics, text, scripts, strategic placement of logos, and affiliate membership criteria are covered to make setting up shop easy. Screen shots provide readers with some outstanding examples of actual Websites that offer various forms and styles of affiliate linking!

Affiliate marketing through referral programs has a lot to offer merchants and their affiliates. Prospects are good for them to generate a lot of money in the years to come. Whether readers are merchants or prospective affiliates, this book will help them get linked up with the people they are looking for. The authors cannot guarantee success but they do a great job of preparing and encouraging their readers. Do you have what it takes to be the next Amazon.com?

Incredible book!!
This is one you cannot miss! Well written, easy to digest, and so very eye-opening. It makes you want to read every book Helmstetter writes.

The Complete Insiders Guide to Associate & Affiliate Programs
Published in Spiral-bound by ADNet International (15 October, 1998)

Good Start for Affiliate Selling
To get a good start on all the basic business concepts for how to establish a network of affiliates to sell your product through the internet, this loose leaf binder (with a tape inside) isn't too bad. It pulls together in one place the information that it would take a lot of searching on the web to pull out.

However, because the author also runs one of the affiliate web sites, he is very light on talking about the services that are competitive to his AdNet business. (AdNet is the publisher of the book.) The case histories he discusses are somewhat detailed -- but they are OLD -- from 1998 or so, and the world has changed since then. Also the companies' write ups have the feel of the clients from his firm, so they are not particularly sharply written or edited.

great guide
This is great book on how to set up affiliate programs. It really goes in depth & walks you through in a step by step manner. Whether you are a novice or a pro on the web, this book will definately help you create, manage, and improve your affiliate program.

Dan Gray could not have written a better book. The complete guide to Associate & Affiliate Programs on the Net clearly describes, in a no nonsense approach, how webmasters or website owners can generate revenue from their websites. As a global repository for such like programs, we have given the guide a first class rating on our site.

Become Involved in this Booming Industry!
Daniel Gray has written The Complete Guide to Associate and Affiliate Programs on the Net to provide a very insightful look at this booming industry and to encourage his readers to consider participating in what it may have to offer them.

Readers will learn who the big players are, such as Be-Free, Commission Junction, and LinkShare, and learn what is involved in bringing merchant companies and prospective affiliates together. Readers will also learn about the different types of programs offered to affiliates and the mechanics involved in setting up business relationships.

The book features full-page listings of the 100 top companies (merchants), that, according to Gray, offer the best affiliate marketing opportunities. Readers can familiarize themselves with the history of each company and determine for themselves whether a perfect marriage can take place. Information such as Websites, types of products and services, contact information, program administration, commission and payment schedules, revenues, and restrictions are provided to permit prospective affiliates to make informed and intelligent decisions. Gray offers a selection of merchant profiles to help readers understand the behind-the-scenes operations of leading companies in this industry. This is an insightful experience!

The book also features a number of affiliate marketing success stories. Readers will be able read up on what others have already experienced - the good and the bad, and learn how they can successfully participate. Guidance in selecting merchants, designing Websites and newsletters, launching publicity campaigns, keeping track of sales, and the listing of resources that provide additional assistance make this book truly amazing. Must reading!

Written by "experts" with no experience
I was cautious about the cover price on this book, but I figured it was the most recent, and theremore, most up to date and useful book on affiliate marketing.

I was terribly disappointed in reading it, though. There was plenty of theory, but I want real, hands on experience from people that got their hands dirty in the industry.

I'd suggest the books by Declan Dunn or Shawn Collins over this.

Strong contribution to the field of Affiliate Marketing
This book gives a profound insight in the mechanisms of affiliate marketing - in theory and in practice. Both affiliates and advertisers in all sizes and industries will benefit from the considerations made in this book. Additionally, the book is presented at a highly accademic level challanging existing marketing theories in a developing marketing arena.

Excellent theoretical overview of why affiliate mktg matters
I am currently writing my thesis on pay-for-performance marketing, and this book was a godsend. It is the first very comprehensive overview of affiliate marketing examined in the context of online marketing as a whole. It has strategic advice for marketers and affiliates as well, but the real strength of the book is in the piece-by-piece analysis of every aspect of affiliate marketing, from the affiliate's, the merchant's and the service provider's point of view. It's helpful if you're researching online marketing, and it's helpful if you're in the business as a merchant or affiliate and would like to learn more about what makes affiliate marketing work.

Don't let the price scare you, this book offers real value for every single dollar you spend on it. I am a student, so i rarely buy expensive books, but this one was worth it. :)

Winning the Affiliate Game
It's not even a book. It's a photo copied ringed binder. I was surprised that Amazon marketed this as a ligitimate book published by a real publisher. It is an absolute joke.

Winning The Affiliate Game
Using just a few of the principles found in this book is helping me turn my sites into cash generators instead of just static sites hoping someone will stop by. Thanks Declan for providing information that truly helps the average, everyday person become successful in this awesome frontier called the Internet.

Declan Dunn is a net genius!
I bought this book from Amazon and the advice it offered has enabled me to boost the profits from my website considerably. There are so many invaluable tips in here that I keep referring to it daily.

I have to admit I have been very impressed by the interviews in the book (everyone loves case studies) and the practical tips. It is the type of book I will keep coming back to for guidance in my net-business.

It's not a cheap book, but I suppose you have to invest to make money. And with Dunn's book you are getting the BEST.

Untapped Options ¿ An Executive Summary of Executive Summari
Enthralled by the thought of learning secrets to create a unique working relationship between human resources and marketing, I bought the book. However, I was disappointed early on. It was a continuing snip-it of others' work with little true insight into bridging the gulf between marketing and human resources. The authors attempted to show areas of overlap and differences and in my opinion could have spent much of the book showing how to work toward alignment between the two departments. Rather, it showed how HR must market the hospital to employees, both new and old and how marketing must use surveys to assist administration in identify patient satisfaction issues. Nothing new, especially if we appreciate and recognize the continual efforts of patient and non-patient care staff to provide excellence in healthcare - inside and outside of the four walls we call a hospital. "Raving Fans" is much better. VP - HR, Salina, KS.

Building Links between Marketing and Human Resources ...
Building Links between Marketing and Human Resources to Achieve Organizational Goals in Health Care.

"Talk about getting out of the box, this book blows the entire lid right off! If you want to position your organization to succeed in a tight labor market, this is definitely the way to go. In these days of low unemployment, your organization's future may depend on utilizing this creative approach to management." -- Sheila Ridner, BSN and MSHSA, CEO, First Hospital Corporation, Nashville, TN

Cost containment, increased productivity, and customer satisfaction have become watchwords for many health care organizations. Untapped Options offers a unique and innovative management model that addresses all three by aligning employee recruitment, training, and retention (Human Resources) with attracting patients and retaining them (Marketing). By allowing the mission, vision, and values of the company to synchronize the strategies of both departments, remarkable synergies are created that provide benefits for the entire firm. Properly implemented using the guidelines in this book, this fresh approach can result in improved performance, higher employee satisfaction, increased patient satisfaction and greater financial security for the organization.
