As a researcher in the design-manufacturing integration field, I found this book pretty helpful to learn about past research. This book is written by many experts. Though the progress of research in the design and manufacturing`s field is pretty fast, I think this book will survive as a good reference book for students and researchers.

This book offers to the reader a very good introduction to the world of neural networks. Thanks to the ability of the authors to present the details of each difficult equation and thanks to a good matlab support the reader at the end is able to have a clear view of what have been done in the field of neurobiolgy.

Buckley and Eslami's notation and some of their ideas on fuzzy sets might go deeper than many others. I've found this book intriguing to say the least. You'll find this a very concise "no-nonsense" sort of math book. Ideas get explained in a few sentences or in a few paragraphs, and then come the exercises! And you'll find even more new ideas, not mentioned in the reading, in the exercises. I do like this sort of style of learning mathematics, because it actively gets you involved.
This book and others on fuzzy set theories do require a decent understaning of crisp set theory. So, if one hasn't taken a course or read a book on crisp set theory you might want to check out a copy of Seymour Lipschutz's Schaum's Outline "Theory and Problems of Set Theory." Knowing some basic calculus will also help. Some advantages of this book lie in that it helps one to separate the idea of fuzzy intersections and fuzzy unions from the standard and useful idea of t-norms and t-conorms. Sections on fuzzy geometry, fuzzy trignometry also seem interesting as these ideas have not yet gotten much development.
I think I've detected a potential error in the text in that it gives an integral for an equation that had to have had part of the integral as negative. But, this seems relatively minor. The book could easily get improved if the author(s) provided solved examples of their exercises, or at least answers. Something like a Schaum's Outline of Fuzzy Set Theory would be an excellent idea!
I appreciate simple things in this text like the authors not saying "prove this truth table..." and instead saying "prove or disprove...", and not saying "prove" in general, but rather saying "show".

This book by Prof Yang is an excellent book for people want to know more about piezoelectricity and piezoelectric devices.

It starts with a complete theory of piezoelectricity with the intention to get readers familirize with the fundamentals. This part is complicated from its appearance, but there is a purpose. Such formulation is essential in dealing with complicated issues which discussed in detail later, ie the effect of various bias fields like thermo, stress, acceleration and so on.

After descriptions of the basic nonlinear theory, the chapters followed restore to the linear theory for various strctural elements and applications as devices. It touched almost all applications of acosutic devices with simple analytical solutions.

The methods and techniques are not directly related to the engineering solutions of actual problems, but it is the first step you have to take towards the direction.

I highly recommend this book to graduate students and engineers who are interested in advanced knowledge on this subject.

Very well put together. Excellent monograph on Ischemic Stroke from epidemiology to molecular biology; treatment, prevention, neurosurgery are all covered well.

This book is a wonderful primer for any aspiring modal jazzist. There are so many scales and colors to choose from, it is nice to have a reference guide to look up one when you need it. Now if you don't find yourself asking what the 6th mode of harmonic minor is, maybe this book is over your head. I also highly recommend Ron Miller's book Modal Composition as a companion to this. My jazz professor knows both of the guys and they are top notch. Best of luck, and always practice harmony at the piano sax players!

This is one of the most insightful books ever written on language and culture. It shows how Iranians create the context for the interpretation of their own language through language use. If you ever wanted one book that would reveal the mysteries of Iran in depth, this is the one! It has stayed in print for over 15 years. No surprise here! Why isn't this required reading for the U.S. State Department?

This is a cute little book for little ninja turtle lovers. There's not much to it, but it makes a cute little stocking stuffer or Easter Basket addition. My 3 year old liked looking at this book and having us read it over and over, even though it was short.
