A well thought out and documented set of ideas illustrating that we can have an economic system that provides for the people in it, not just for the institutions around it.

I would give a lot for the opportunity to greet this man in person. With the likes of him, there may be hope after all, if we can get the word out.

I kept this book for the longest time while I was working on my dissertation (as adjunct faculty I could keep for semester and renew for semesters as long as noone else requested it. Strangely, nobody did.) It is an excellent collection of articles, essays, etc for a researcher. It covers a large scope of topics and the articles are solidly written by excellent researchers.

I don't know why professors didn't choose this as a research textbook. Perhaps the scope of the book is intimidating for a professor or maybe too ambitious to cover within any semester or academic year. With nearly 1000 pages, it is also an extremely heavy and thick book to carry around.

This book contributes a unique perspective to women's studies, criminology and prison studies. It is refreshingly inter-disciplinary in a field that is all too often characterised by staid, empirical surveys. For anyone interested in gender and power, and in punishment, I highly recommend it.

Starting in my country with callosotomies in epilepsy surgery, this book offers a guide for a scientific approach in indication and goal for futher studies.

This was exactly what was promised as far as condition- very good, and thanks to the speedy shipping, I got it in plenty of time for class to start.

I was there when this book had it's lauch. My grandfather's picture is prominently displayed on one of the pages and a few of his quotes as well as mention of my great grandmother singing.

The tales bring me back to the greatest generation and the life my grandparents endured. A majority of the memories are from one Adirondack Woodsmen but many of their stories and songs are fantastic. Straight from the early 1900's and taken shortly before most of these men passed on.

If the author is still alive and reads this thank you. Do you still have the tapes from your interviews? I'd love to hear my grandfather on tape!

This book is perfect to bring the practioner or researcher up to date with the state of the art in the field of GAs. Because each chapter is authored by different contributors, the style varies a lot. However, the book succeeds in its unifying theme. Probably the most useful thing accomplished here is to introduce the research community to the reader so that one can pick up reading directly from the fast evolving literature. Enjoy.
