What you really want to know.
What a superlative organization of Eckhart's thought regarding the experiential side of his mysticism! While we should be wary of the hair splitting and eel wriggling of theologians, philosophers and Scholars, Mr. Forman's elucidation of the stages of Eckhart's mystical path is orderly, sensible, scholarly, and convincing. Since we are all enlightened to some degree or other, there seems little point in debating wether or not Eckhart had the mystical experience of which he spoke. If the depth of the "birth in the soul" or the level of enlightenment could somehow be definitively measured, There seems little doubt that many would be amazed at who is and is not, and who is more and who is less, spiritually developed. In this regard, we might remember Christ's teaching, "But many who are first will be last, and the last will be first". That being said, Forman supports, in his introduction, the notion that Eckhart undoubtedly spoke from deep, legitimate, religious experience. This reviewer finds numerous expressions in Eckhart's sermons which do lend support to that probability. Forman writes with perspective and humility, never making large claims or long reaches. This skillfully crafted and well researched book is a must read for anyone with more than a passing interest in arguably the greatest mystic in the western tradition. Where was Forman when I was reading Dogen?
Don

Meister Eckhart understood.
The great Christian mystic, Meister Eckhart, has puzzled scholars for 650 years. Robert Forman has found a way to unlock his writings. In "high ramification" or stilted language, Eckhart develops his philosophical ideas. But in "low ramification" or ordinary language, Eckhart communicates his mystical experience. By using this method of sorting out Eckhart's writings, Forman is able to chart out the stages in Eckhart's mystical development. At the highest mystical level, Eckhart elaborates ideas that are a great achievement for the Christian tradition - letting go, living in the eternal Now, and being empty and free. Eckhart's ideas have provided fruitful ground for dialogue with other religious traditions. We should be thankful that Robert Forman has made Meister Eckhart understandable to all.

A must-read for both new and experienced mouse owners
I read two different 'mice as pets' books before buying my first pair of fancy mice in 1999. Although the books provided the basics of housing and feeding, as well as some notes on what to do if my mouse experienced diarrhea, they did not prepare me for the illness that claimed the mice two years later.

Dr. Vanderlip's book "Mice: A Complete Pet Owner's Manual" provides much more information concerning mouse health, including visual cues for various illnesses, and suggested remedies, even if they are only intended to make your mouse more comfortable while you contact your veterinarian. She also provides helpful tip-boxes and brief checklists for quick and easy reference on such topics as what to do, or not do, if your mouse escapes, as well as the kind of bedding, toys, and cage placement that best suits a mouse's anatomy and physiology.

Her writing style is blunt and compassionate, and after reading this book, I feel much better prepared to be the responsible owner of happy and healthy mice.

The Ultimate Pet Mouse Book
Mice as pets? While many of us still think of mice as garden variety rodents, true mouse lovers appreciate the extreme diversity of this remarkably successful family of pocket mammals. Worldwide in their distribution, mice have adapted to most extremes of climate and geography.

This mouse book brings together a wide range of pragmatic knowledge about mouse-keeping from veterinary researchers, hobbiests, and animal behaviorists--no small feat given the vast literature on these busy, entertaining and social little critters.

If you are looking for a single source about feeding, breeding, housing and entertaining your favorite mouse, this manual will probably be a first choice. A comprehensive list of common ailments is included that helps to identify a sick mouse. Useful advice if offered in handy, table form on how problems can be prevented and managed, or treated by your family veterinarian.

Since mice readily breed in captivity, another section provides an understanding of their reproductive cycle and useful details on pregnancy, nursing, weaning and development.Giving mice enriching activities is always fun and challenging; the section on housing, furnishings and feeding offers a wealth of details that make mouse-keeping interesting and entertaining.

Even rodent-phobes will quickly be attracted to these gentle little creature armed with the knowledge that this generously illustrated, well-organized, user-friendly manual provides.

Midnight Hour
Date? In the near future. Location? Planet earth. Midnight hour is the sequel to Celeste Perrino Walker and Eric Stoffle's book Eleventh Hour. It is an action and suspense-filled story about the time of the end, from a unique perspective. You follow the individual experiences of several main characters as they live through the events preceding the Second Coming of Christ. It is a book that I found hard to put down. The story begins in the book Eleventh Hour with sinister forces plotting to take over the American Government in the name of God. The story ends in Midnight Hour, where you see the United States falling deeper and deeper into spiritual turmoil. The earth is racked with so much devastation and destruction that it seems as though it will soon destroy itself. This book awakens people to the events that may happen in the near future. It is a little hard to follow in the beginning because it jumps from person to person a lot and there are many main characters, but it is definately a book worth reading if you like end-time stories. Be sure to start with the Eleventh Hour.

Great Follow Up to 11th Hour
In this book the story that was started in 11th Hour is brought to a conclusion. The Secret organization out to destroy the followers of GOD scome to full power and GODs people are persecuted.

Then the truth is made know, facts are made clear and just when there is no hope left... a small cloud appears on the horizon, and riding on it comes JESUS HIMself. It is finished. Time to go Home.

A must read for anyone over 12 years old, after reading the first book. You will not be able to put it down.

Mind Over Technology: Coming Out on Top as a Wired World Starts to Run on Automatic

Saving the Human Element
This book has been written on a foundation of passion, commitment, and authenticity. Mr. Samson is truly dedicated to the principles of the issues and solutions he has identified in this work.

He has accurately described the path of the present condition of technology replacing not only human labor but also the human mind and eventually the spirit. His examples of the transformation and loss of jobs is a lesson in history we have forgotten or fail to recognize. More importantly, his book is call for alarm, for history is repeating itself with a much greater consequence.

This book is a must read for those of us who feel that our technocratized society has forgotten about the human element. ItÕs not only about efficiency and productivity, but also about meaning, purpose, and quality of life. Mr. Samson enlightens us on how and why we are slowly being replaced by intelligent machines and offers alternatives which can facilitate the benefits of both technology and the human mind. I highly recommend this book.

Provocative & Challenging
This is the most provocative and challenging book I have ever read about where our nation is headed with respect to one
of the essential underpinnings of our economy and society; namely, decent jobs. Right now the shortage of jobs in the U.S. has pointed the finger to the off-shoring of jobs to countries with cheap labor. This book explains why, as serious as off-shoring is, "off-peopling" of jobs to robots will very soon be an even greater and more difficult problem to solve. The author explains in a very readable style, with clearly presented reasoning, backed by easily understood statistics, why the the threat of robots is no longer science fiction. He outlines ways that leaders in government, business, labor and education should be jointly working to avert the world-wide disruption of our economy and society which is already underway. We must develop and train people to fill millions of "human edge" jobs where, because humans are alive and robots are not, humans can come out on top of machines, even those with artificial intelligence -- not struggle in their wake. Then many people, not just a relatively few techies, can hold not only decent jobs but fulfilling ones. You have to read this book to understand how this is possible...and then join the crusade to make it happen.

Best Book
This is one of the best books I have ever read. The book literally changed my life.

A pioneering piece of Islam
When I first read the first part of the title of this book I had some doubts about why it is "Mohammed's Allah" but soon after completed reading it, I understood that the title is completely appropriate for the content of the book.Because in the book the most important concepts such as the the difference between the terms "God" and "Allah", functions of the brain and its importance in Religion, fate ,and very interesting explanations about death, dreams and illusions, system of life and so on... are very clearly and scientifically explained from the prophet Mohammed's perspective. This book is absolutely a pioneering piece of Islam. Meanwhile, if you want to reinforce your knowledge and comprehension about Islam more, you should read Hulusi's the other book "Islam" as well.

Molly Moves Out (Bodley Beginners)

Authors: Susan Pearson and Steven Kellogg

Certified Classic
I was lucky enough to find this one when my littlest boy was only two. It's now served all three of my children with distinction.

Much-published Susan Pearson really nailed it with this 1979 title, which places her in the rarefied company of immortal children's authors like Margaret Wise Brown, Lois Lenski and VH Drummond.

At three chapters and 64 pages, this one is a really long story for toddlers, but one that they can enjoy until much older.

Writing with beautiful wit and rhythm, and boosted by the winsome bunny illustrations of Steven Kellogg, Pearson covers off many childhood fears and preoccupations, meanwhile leaving you with a raft of riffs and catchphrases that will find their way into many childhood conversations.

After numerous artful but failed attempts to distract her destructive little brothers (four) and little sisters (three), Molly memorably declares, "Ten rabbits living in one house is nine rabbits too many for me."

Striking out to her own bachelor pad just across the meadow, Molly gently acquires a lasting education about the true nature of honesty, compassion, friendship and family.

Treasured Childhood Favorite
Molly, responsible eldest sister of four brothers and three sisters, finds life at home intolerable (sister Mary takes her clocks apart, Kathryn borrows her shells and Max smells like dirty nappies).

Eventually Molly realises it is time to leave the nest, and with some assistance from her parents she packs her things and moves into a home of her own.

But sometimes even the best solutions to life's problems need to be worked on, and Molly embarks on a journey to adulthood that every rabbit must make in the end.

Monumental Accusations: The Monuments Aux Morts As Expressions of Popular Resentment (Francophone Cultures and Literatures, Vol 13)

Excellent
This is a wonderful book that offers trenchant insight into the French experience during the Great War. I found this book profoundly moving at times and my understanding of what that war meant to the identity of France was greatly enriched. Well worth the price to the serious student of the era.

A Unique and Splendid Book
This beautifully done book presents a unique perspective of the war memorials that pervade France. The meaning of these monuments is often ignored or forgotten by the casual traveler, but anyone who reads this book will most certainly feel that they are seeing these reminders of sacrifice for the first time. With insight and distinctive understanding, Ms. Henry examines what these markers say to us today and in the process brings the past to life. Scholarly, moving, and superbly written, the reader will never look at a memorial to the fallen without consideration again. An important contribution to understanding the French experience of war and how that nation's past sacrifice is remembered and perceived by its people. Ernest Pessler, O.F.M.

Wishful Thinking
Fact of the matter is that Eddie Robin is probably the greatest pool and billiard writer ever. "Winning One-Pocket", "Shots, Moves, & Strategies", and "Position Play in 3-Cushion Billiards" are some of the best writings on the subjects. "More One-Pocket Shots" was never released. It is still a work in progress, so to speak. If Eddie starts his business back up, which he fully intends to, that and "Winning 9-Ball" will be some of the releases. For the time being, all 3 of his books are hard to find, and as I said, this one does not exist. I would highly recommend using your local Library's "Inter-Library Check Out" program. All his books are available. All 3 are at a library in Oregon. Many others are at various other libraries. Shoot well...

winning one pocket
This book is for the player searching for his best game. All around game technics are covered. If you know the game basics this will make you better, and if you are a PLAYER, this is the way to the TOP!
