Jimmy's Boa and the Birthday Splash
This is a wonderful book for children and adults as well. The humor in the book was easily understood by the children. The book was easy enough to read but yet challenging. It was such a great hit in my class that we had to get another copy!

Joel's Revelations: The Bible As Textbook for Joyous and Effective Living

Spiritually speechless
This is definitely an action-oriented book. I liked another Dr. Teutsch book I read so I read this one too. I liked this book because it was non-denominational and answered a lot of my long time questions. I have gone to various bible studies and spiritual studies in my life and no one has explained life's meaning quite like this. I'm still working through the book. I'm only up to chapter five and probably will be working on it throughout the rest of the year. I don't want to rush through. However, I'm extremely pleased with the insight received thus far. Another winner in my eyes!

If ever there was a textbook for living life, this is it!
The Teutsch's book has helped me to begin to understand the workings of the body, mind and spirit. Feelings of helplessness fade away as you are led through the reasons behind fear, hatred, anger and so on. You begin to see clearly the things that you must do to achieve your goals. You learn the true nature of Man, and how to put God's gifts to proper use. If you ever have felt that life didn't seem fair or logical, pick up this book and read, read, read!

John Maynard Keynes: The Economist As Savior 1920-1937: A Biography

Who was more keynesian them Keynes himself?
Keynes activities, both as an active participant of the economic life of his country and continent, and as an icon to the cultural life of his epoch and to his many friends and groups of interest, is impressive. To define him is an elusive task: philosopher?, economist?, historian?, linguist?. He was all this and much more, but he was above all a man of a very practical mind and, notwhidstanding his immense philosophical background, deeply attached to the theories of his contemporary G.E.Moore and others, he had the feeling of having a mission to accomplish, given the immense superiority his intellect had over the rest of the mortals.

What was to become of Europe after the end of the First World War was foreseen by him in many essays and primarily in his book The Economic Consequences of the Peace. The task which lays ahead for him, and only him, was to warn politicians and thinkers of the impending dangers of the years to come, specially in regard to a lack of theoretical analisys to support the transition from the old economy (classicist in his jargon), which ended with the death of the great Alfred Marshall, and a new one, which he purpoted himself to establish and then save the world. And save the world he did!!! Keynes is one of this towering figures who had the opportunity to mingle himself with daily facts and change them for the better. Amid a lot of controversy and polemic regarding the originality of his ideas, he published his major opus in 1937, which was to be used against the vagaries of rampant unemployment and inflation. His General Theory of Interest , Employment and Money is a sort of tribute he pays to his father , Malthus and G.E.Moore.
In the personnal side of his life, if this can be said of Keynes for his personal life was eminently devoted to cultural interests i many areas, the book portrays some important changes in his personal atitudes towards homosexuality (he abandoned) and his new life marrying the russian ballerina Ludmila.

When you we get volume 3?
A great book about a great man. The development of Keynes' thought is handled well, although some more discussion around possible sources of some of his ideas would have been welcome. Several books about his Bloomsbury freinds have emerged recently, and it is interesting to compare perceptions. I'm uncomfortable with Skidelsky's analysis of Keynesian theory which strikes me as too much of a shoe-horning of Keynes into a classical framework, but I'm hardly an expert. All in all a book to be savoured, and an essential item in one's library.

Heaven Sent
"Journey" came into my life when I needed it most and when I was ready to do this work. Used as a workbook it guides the way step by step. The meditations are very helpful. Now, during my second reading, I am gleaning more with each page and chapter. One of the few books I consider my companion. I am now searching for extra copies to pass on to loved ones. A must read for true healing of self and relationships. Thank you Ms. Vaughn for sharing your journey with us.

Aunt Susan
This is my aunt! I haven't read the book, but I do know that Susan has changed. She's healthy and feels confident. I hope she will continue in her endeavors and write more books to help people find themselves and their inner spirits.

The highest compliment: buying a second copy. . .
after I've given my first to a friend who liked it so much that s/he kept it. This is a well-structured, clear, concise guide on how to hit the ground running in a leadership position. The authors' approach favors "this is what works--do it" over touchy-feely, less generally useful philosophizing. Whether you are a seasoned leader or a first-time supervisor, don't embark on a new position without this!

Points You In A Clear and Positive Direction
An enjoyable read with excellent sugestions, ideas, and examples. Especially valuable if you have never been a manager. There are so many great suggestions made without a lot of management theory to weed through. Made me feel confident in my abilities when my new position made me feel in over my head.

Kinetic Theory of Gases : Gases Are Atoms Shooting About (As Dreamed by Itsy, No 7)
Published in Hardcover by Abique Inc (March, 2000)
Authors: Ima, Professor Kook, Professor Ima Kook, and Professor Ama Kook
Amazon base price: $14.95

Great Book
The lead character is a little girl, and that in a science book. How unusual and wonderful. Even better, her mother - not her father - explains the scientific aspects of her dream. Professor Ima Kook even sounds like a woman's name in spite of us being told he is a grandfather. We need more of this.

Any Kid Can Understand This
I've read all eight books in the "As Dreamed by Itsy" series to my 5 and 7 year olds. They're wonderful, all eight of them, so when you look at the others, you'll find this same review for all eight.

My kids loved them and wanted to hear them over an over. I noticed that with each reading, they comprehended a little more about the story. Even the first reading they loved and picked up a lot of information from, but they were so interested in the story to pay much attention to the concepts. After all, they didn't view the story as a lesson in science. On later readings they showed a great deal of interest and even awe at that the world really operates in such ways.

And me - I'm not a scientist, am even afraid of science, but this was easy. I picked up more from these stories than I learned in high school. Of course the kids asked questions I couldn't answer (but not too many), but they ask such questions every time we go to the park or the supermarket. I just passed off their questions in the usual way. Now when I someone says something about the Big Bang Theory, molecules or such, I feel well enough informed that I no longer quickly change the subject.

I recommend the books and hope the publisher adds more titles soon.

The Knowing Body: The Artist As Storyteller in Contemporary Performance

Great Book on Performance!
Steinman's book really stands alone among performance art books. While there are many that document what particular artists are doing, this one offers a way in for a person who wants to perform (or know more about how performance artists work). The book is difficult to characterize: while not exactly a "how-to" manual, it inspired me to create new art and to think about how we tell stories with our bodies, with images, in front of an audience. Must reading for anyone interested in performance art, it will also be fascinating to those in theatre, playwriting, visual arts and performance of any sort. I lend mine out all the time (but it's one of a few among my many books that I make sure I always get back!)

Essential reading for shamans, performers, and humans.
For some reason, this book is still the only one of its kind, delving into the performance art philosophies of Meredith Monk, Barbara Dilley, Ping Chong, and Spalding Gray, just to name a few. Beautifully illustrated, this book explores dance and performance art from a kind of Jungian/shamanist/Buddhist perspective. You can learn from this book just what it means to be an artist--or just what it means to be alive

Knowledge and Wonder - 2nd Edition: The Natural World as Man Knows It

Excellent!
This book was recommended by my Physics advisor - to help me understand relativity. A short and all encompassing text, very well written and easy to understand.

excellent, clear presentation of usually difficult science
This book clearly describes natural phenomenon in an orderly, logical progression that brings such concetps as the quanta and the expanding universe within the grasp of the non-physics trained mind. The language is normal, non jargon sentences, and the technical terms that are used are clearly explained. Perhaps even more important, it is generally fun to read, not nearly as sleep-inducing as other texts I've encountered.
