I bought this for a Christmas present, so the person receiving it hasn't gotten it yet. I received this book and it was in very good condition.

I had to do a paper on Albania and the only book I could find on "Albania" was this book. It is very useful because it gives the social and political background of Albania from post WWII era to the recent democratic changes. The book is not a guide but a study of the always changing political situation in Albania

Anyone that wants to understand about Albania and Albanian politics in the Balkans should read this book. This book is very insightful and provides information that will develop ones understanding of Albania, its history, and politics. For those that are also seeking a clearer understanding of the Kosovo conflict will also find this book to be rewarding. This book is written by an Albanian. Elez Biberaj has written extensively on Albanian politics and this book is just one more literary gem that takes you a step further in the understanding of Albania and her scattered kin. Highly recommended!

What better book to show an architecture student, design student, or even professional designer the virtues and power of the hand? This is a small and compelling book that does not explore, but states clearly the relevance of drawing in Rossi's design process. Though the format of the book is small, the reproductions of Rossi's works are large enough and of high enough quality that we can clearly follow the craft and intuition of the initial responses and investigations of particular design problems. Rossi's drawings are intuitive, playful, and always based solidly in the knowledge of the fundimentals of orthographic, perspective, and axonometric design drawing as well as the subjectivity of gesture. In his drawings, the process, not the product, is paramount. For an instructor of design or drawing, they are wonderful for student analysis. By dismantling and revealing the underlying structures of the visual language that Rossi employs, students and designers alike will be inspired to return to paper in a much more rigorous way to explore the moments between thought and expression that perhaps only drawing can afford. I work on Algeria issues as a big part of my job so I picked up this book at the library. I was expecting it to be a tedious academic study without much in there for someone who has to deal with the real world. Surprisingly, it was readable and very interesting. I highly recommend this to anyone who either has to work in Algeria commercially (and could use some cultural/political insight) or who has a broader counter-insurgency or Middle East interest.

The authors provided a host of factual information and quotations, providing a vivid picture of the military conquest by theUS-led military forces in a short, quick read compact format. Theirfollow up book on the weapons that will be employed by the united states in its future wars against powerless 3rd world countries is cause for great concern.

This is the 1990 edition of the famous book by Michael Barone and Grant Ujifusa. Ever since 1971 the two researchers have teamed to produce new editions of this book which contains the very latest and most comprehensive infomation on all the members of Congress and the Senate.

The book is usually in the bookstores in the month of April on every odd-numbered year with information about the members of Congress who were elected the previous November. In this 1990 edition, the members profiled will be those elected in 1988 in the Bush presidential election victory over Michael Dukakis. The voting records of the members on that floor of Congress which are analyzed in this book will be those votes taken during the last two years of the Reagan Administration.

Although most lobbyists or citizens owning this book will feel the need to buy a new edition of the book every two years to stay current, this 1990 edition remains valuable as a good historical record of the last two years of the Reagan Administration.
