1990 Books

Riley's and Rimmer's guide is a must-have for serious comsumers of pornography, covering, as it does, the years when (arguably) porn first skirted the crusted fringe of mainstream pop-culture. True, pornography perhaps first demanded critical scrunity when VHS brought it out of the ... booth in the 80s; but such a demand was, at best, muted. But when "Ass Rage 3" and "Natural Bone Drillers" (both given 5 stars in this guide) hit the shelves we witnessed an artistic reclamation which enabled the soi-disant culturally savvy elite to buff the chubster and bandy about terms like "Gen-X kitsch" and "post-PC irony." This tremendous guide is alive to that seminal shift, and indeed provides video-still evidence of several graphic examples of it. Hats off to the authors for such a perceptive treatment.

I thought that it was a very good book if you like sex and I tried a few of the suggestions on getting to know your lover with my wife and she seemed to enjoy the new me.So that is why I am interrested in futher videos and books.Please give us new material to enjoy!!!!!!!!!!

This is a great book, if you really want to know the truth and everything that is happening in southern mexico, this is the book to buy. Its a very detailed book, so its a bit long. It has reading of Sub Comandante Marcos and other great leaders. Great book, really recomend it.

This book is an amazing collection of one of Latin America's greatest living writers and activists, Subcomandante Marcos (who I, incidentally, think is one of the sexiest men in the world!!! Apparently, I'm not the only one who shares this opinion. According to the book, "First World, Ha Ha Ha!", Marcos has become somewhat of a sex symbol in the gay community in Mexico. There's even a condom named after him). My fantasies aside, "Ya Basta" is an essential anthology for anyone wanting to learn about Chiapas, Zapatismo and Third World resistance to corporate globalization. I especially enjoyed his stories about Durito and the cool photos. It's a hefty volume, well worth its price.

Whittle's combination of Tour reporting and quality journalism bring out details and doubts that are not covered in other books written on this subject. The author comes across as torn between seeing a sport he loves brought to its knees, and anger at the apathy and constant denial from the sports governing bodies and the Tour organisers. You feel that he knows more than he's telling and I hope that following the recent (Nov 2000) Festina Affair trial, that Whittle will update the book - telling us what, at the time of writing, he could only hint at. A great look into professional sports tripping over its own arrogance. Will be appreciated by cycling and non-cycling fans alike.

Until I read this book I didn't realise what a cut-throat and dangerous, no-limits sport cycling was. It's all about the 1998 Tour de France scandal that almost stopped France's biggest annual event in its tracks. But it's told by a race insider like a thriller; the author's eyes open wider and wider by the day as the scandal, fear and loathing gets worse and worse and everybody, Whittle included, reaches the point of breakdown. If you've been reading about the Festina trial in the papers and on the web, you'll love this.....

The last volume of this series, and a pretty good one. The editor had help from Arthur W. Saha with some mechanics I guess, presumably because as the very brief intro says, he was too ill at the time to do some of it.

Overall, a very good finish, not quite excellent, being your bit over 4.25 round up to 4.50 book, as there are no real standouts, just a bunch of good stories, with the odd average piece in the middle.

A haunting and twisted drama set in modern day Ireland that throws the audience in the life of a close, dysfunctional family as they struggle w/ the the tragedies of life. I HIGHLY recommend it to any "twin" or those interested in bizarre familial relationships.

Admittedly the map is not the territory, but one does need a map first, and Harding's classic book fills that need very well. If one will set Ego aside for the nonce and read this book with heart and soul, i.e., openmindedly, one will be in for quite a surprise, perhaps even some healing insights into oneself. :)

I am a retired mechanic and this is the only kind of repair book worth using. These are the same books used by Toyota's own service repair technicians so you won't find braud generalizations or information that doesn't apply to this year and make vehicle. These books take you, start to finish and step by step, through each service operation without surprises.

The introduction presents an outstanding overview of how the war came about, and is followed by the most complete bibliography of the conflict yet published.
